I remember having to wait like 30 minutes for flash videos like these to load. Having to invest time like that to watch a flash almost made it more special and exciting when you could finally click "play". Good times.
i never recall it being THAT bad. it was only ever 5-10m for this to appear (do you recall the original Flash player site BEFORE it became well known software?)

WOW! When this was new FF10 was as far as they'd gotten!!!! HOLY SMOKES! The nostalgia is REAL!
Yup! I always thought the song was very catchy! As for LegendaryFrog (the original creator of this video), I'm going to be brutally honest when I say how ridiculously overrated he was on Newgrounds. I remember seeing him CONSTANTLY hog the #1 spot on the top 50 flash submissions when there were plenty of other great flash artists who deserved the spotlight more than him. Don't get me wrong, I thought his work was very well done (and still think that it's very well done), but it wasn't THAT good.

Growing up, I knew, like, three other people who even knew what Final Fantasy was. One was a prick who looked and acted like Jim Sterling, another was a fujoshi girl who I wanted to be friends with but who I ended up offending because I was even worse with people then than I am now. True these days kid plays fortnite, Minecraft, PUBG & CoD we miss the times we use to play some awesome Games in old Gen era back these don't exist

This song has been in my head for the last 15 years straight. No regrets.
I still hum this to myself at work sometimes. I'm so glad I stumbled on this tonight; makes me feel like I'm nine or ten years old again. It feels like times were better then. Simpler. Really wish I didn't have to grow up, or that I at least slowed down a little and learned to appreciate my childhood more while I was living it.
Anyway, I guess what I'm saying is, whatever cosmic forces or random string of coincidences led me here, I'm glad they did. I needed this.
You aren't alone brother. I was 12 or so when this came out. It's etched into my brain. Seeing it again brings me back to a much simplier time. A welcome escape from the day to day insanity.

This unlocked such a memory for me. I watched this in the early RUclips days, interesting that it was on Newgrounds in 2002, never saw it. Good fricking times, sometimes this just pops in my head randomly!
I have no idea why this video popped into my head recently. It's like I needed to remind myself that the internet used to be full of gems like this.
Not even a final fantasy fan. But this is so endearing and classic internet and I'm probably as obsessed with these memes as this artist was with the games.

FF6 is the only one thats really a must play. ff4 and FF5 are the other two highlights. If you have the time, Alot of people like 7, but its kind of overrated.

I know a couple of the characters from VII because I watched an anime movie with them in it (and had basically no idea what was going on), and of course I know the furry characters...
Yonkage Furry characters?? You mean like the people who dress up like animals and have sex with each other? The movie you saw was advent children if I had to guess. I thought it was okay, any fan would say it's always nice to get more ff7 content. But to be honest it didn't really add much to the overall story as a whole.

Final Fantasy Rebirth came out last week. Another FF game. Another time, I find myself singing this song whenever I get on a chocobo. Over 2 decades ago I discovered this on Newgrounds.

Jim Tiberius Probably but to me, it just seems like one of those old flash videos from the golden age of newgrounds where a kid has worked really hard on his video but it didn't age well.
Still, every time I get a notification on this link I give it another listen and get a warm fuzzy feeling thinking about when I first heard it, regardless of how well I think it's aged :)
I just watched this for the same reasons you did.... I can't say that it's any worse than I remember it, but it is pretty sad in hindsight. This thing was released shortly after Final Fantasy X... and the franchise has just been going downhill over the past decade. I can't help wondering if the maker's still near as interested as the song claims him to be.
This was the first thing I watched after getting high-speed internet access. Before then watching any type of multimedia on the web on dial-up was too slow. I'm not even a fan of Final Fantasy but my friend show this to me and at the time I thought it was extremely catchy. Watching it again in 20 20 gives me extreme douchechills but Nostalgic none the less.
