Man, lots of work! I love my 2009 XC90 V8. I replaced struts and shocks, all four wheel bearings, brake rotors, ignition coils, spark plugs, all five engine mounts (including two vacuum mounts at bottom), control arms, ball joints, clear and re-lubricated CV joints with new boots, new swing bar links, changed transmission fluid, all light bulbs. It runs as new. The only problem is the engine gaskets leaking a little bit. I bought the parts and plan to replace them when it’s getting warmer.
Thanks for posting. I have #553 and just got it about a year ago and need to do all the main things up top. Already replaced control arms, wheel bearings, ball joints and so on. Now to address my leaking valve covers, whining power steering pump and assumingly mangled motor mounts because I get tons of engine noise inside the cabin. The V8s aren't as common and there are so few videos on them.
This is hilarious, i had to do almost all of this too. Did the control arms, power steering pump, valve cover gaskets, and now i realized I’ll have to do these two mounts as well.
How was the timing cover and valve cover gasket job? My 2010 s80 v8 definitely leaking oil over everything. Ironically, the oil level always looks good and doesnt get low. What should I do? :)
On this day the 100th anniversary of the Chinese Communist Party, thrilled to know that Volvo is owned by Geely of China #MadeInChina2025 #BeltAndRoad 🇨🇳

Add some at 205 reseal if it's only leaking lightly it will work

Did you replace the transmission yourself on the floor. Or do you have a lift.
Ocean Race spotted!
I assume not since you're now replacing the mounts, but did you have to pull the engine to reseal the timing cover? How difficult of a job is that?

Great job!
Nice XC90.
