Hey Tank, you mention earlier about where they came from and background musically. Floor had a band After Forever when she was 17 and it was awesome. Then she sang in several other side projects. She then formed ReVamp and wrote songs and finally ended that band after she joined Nightwish, even played in them both earlier on until she devoted her all to Nightwish. Check out her live performance of "wild card" by ReVamp.... hear her growl..... lol. Pretty cool

A good one with Troy is "I Want My Tears Back" from Tampere. If you want to see Floor do something unexpected, do "Yours Is An Empty Hope" and pay close attention when they sing the title. You won't regret it at all.

Troy doesn't show up in this Wacken concert much, because he had just become an official member of the band right around this time, and they hadn't released any albums with him as an official member yet, so there weren't as many songs written with his instruments in them. Off the top of my head, I think he was in 3 songs in that concert? (Nemo, Last of the Wilds, and I Want My Tears Back). You can check out Nemo (Live at Wacken) if you want to hear a lot of Troy and Tuomas. There are more Troy parts in concerts from 2015 and later.

the whole 2013 concert in wacken is of such an epic quality that it deserves to be watched and reacted song by song. if you liked the duets between flor and marko, with the song "song of myself", from the same concert (wacken 2013) your mind will blow up 😁 there are also three other main concerts, each of them with a bunch of fantastic songs to watch and enjoy, such as "shudder before the beautiful" from the 2015 concert at the london wembley arena.

Seriously, many of us already know these songs. Those who do not have a choice: listen with you and all of us or go to the original you link. Don't apologize for stopping. Personally, I am not a fan of the floorgasm sound effect as I think it's distracting. I do love your enthusiasm, though, so.... I am newish to Nightwish, the past 18 months or so. I take it you have been on tour as a Roadie? I'd love to hear your input as to what we are seeing as far as set up and stage production, etc.
The floorgasm thing was my attempt at humor, and will only be in this one video. After my first reaction, the Army left me about 500 comments telling me my goosebumps were “floorgasms”. So this was my tongue-in-cheek way of saying “I GOT IT”. Haha And yeah, I wanna get WAY more into production stuff with future videos. I’ve been a roadie for the past 13 years and still am, but this whole Covid thing has slowed down work completely.

Personally the pausing doesn't bother me. If I just want to listen to the song I'll throw in the DVD. I watch these reaction videos to see other people enjoy the bands that I like and get the reactors take on the performance. If your making a list of Nightwish songs to react to I'll give you a few. From Wacken "Last Ride of the Day", from Wembley "7 Days to the Wolves" From Tampere "Weak Fantasy". Those are all with Floor. If you want to go back to the origins on Nightwish check out "Over the Hills & Far Away" (Gary Moore cover), & "Wish I Had an Angel" from End of an Era with Tarja Nightwish's Original singer.
Once you’ve gotten up to speed more on the history of the band and the other singers I would then recommend The Poet And The Pendulum. It’s longer than Ghost Love Score and a very personal song for Tuomas. It’s not one to just jump into, as knowing the story of its creation is important to fully get the emotional impact of it. It’s not one they play often if ever anymore because of the emotions it brings out in him. However, it is a great example of his genius. On a softer note, one of my favorites is Sleeping Sun.

You might want to check out Floor's performances from the Dutch tv show Beste Zangers, even though she is singing with the house band it really shows off her skill. Before last summer she was largely unknown in her home country, but now she is one of the most popular singers in the Netherlands.
Symphonic metal. But pick a genre and listen to their music you will probably find it. I havent heard rap or hip hop nor disco. But instrumental music very classical but others very metal. The classical opera trained singers do it all from folk jazz celtuc river dance to metal. Many inbetween

For the ultimate Troy flute and bagpipe experience go for "Last of the wilds", Wacken 2013. Instrumental piece bang on the middle of the concert to give Floor a few minutes to break and change. If you want to also hear him sing, "the carpenter" from Buenos Aires 2018.
I think 7 days to the wolves is a good showcase for troy, too. But not with flute or pipes but with this Guitar Thing he does in that. I've rarely heard a guitar sound like that. Maybe someone knows the technical term for what he is doing there.
@@chriscross2473 Not sure about at Wacken. He occaisionally uses an EBow for guitar. When they did the song at Wembley in 2015 he was actually playing a very nice bouzouki. I had not heard one before that.

You want to see Troy. Not sure if you're ready for their 20-plus minutes masterpiece, but you may check out Weak Fantasy live at Tampere. He did nasty solo with Marco there on bouzouki. Emppu's fave solo is from Ever Dream. Haha so there you go my two recommendations to you.
Emppu does not get enough love his guitar tone is consistently fucking killer and he serves the song perfectly every time...tuomas and floor get so much love(and rightly so) but the whole band are fucking monsters in their own right..!!

2013 was Floor's first year with Nightwish. I think the Live album Showtime, Storytime is the first release with her. Wembley 2015 and Decades are much better only because the band harmonizes even better.
Great reaction! The enthusiasm you bring to the table is so joyous to watch! As many more have mentioned - a safe bet is to keep doing the Wacken 2013 concert. I also recommend "Seven Days to the Wolves" from their Wembley 2016 performance. If you want to see more flexing by Empu and Marco I would recommend Nightwish cover of Pink Floyd's High Hopes (From the "End of an Era" DVD). Back then they still had their original singer Tarja, but she is not present in that song and Marco is singing lead.

Personally, I am not a fan of the floorgasm sound effect as I think it's distracting. I do love your enthusiasm, though, so....
I am newish to Nightwish, the past 18 months or so.
I take it you have been on tour as a Roadie? I'd love to hear your input as to what we are seeing as far as set up and stage production, etc.
The floorgasm thing was my attempt at humor, and will only be in this one video. After my first reaction, the Army left me about 500 comments telling me my goosebumps were “floorgasms”. So this was my tongue-in-cheek way of saying “I GOT IT”. Haha
And yeah, I wanna get WAY more into production stuff with future videos. I’ve been a roadie for the past 13 years and still am, but this whole Covid thing has slowed down work completely.

Personally the pausing doesn't bother me. If I just want to listen to the song I'll throw in the DVD. I watch these reaction videos to see other people enjoy the bands that I like and get the reactors take on the performance. If your making a list of Nightwish songs to react to I'll give you a few. From Wacken "Last Ride of the Day", from Wembley "7 Days to the Wolves" From Tampere "Weak Fantasy". Those are all with Floor. If you want to go back to the origins on Nightwish check out "Over the Hills & Far Away" (Gary Moore cover), & "Wish I Had an Angel" from End of an Era with Tarja Nightwish's Original singer.
Marko is actually as good a singer as Floor, just a very different voice. When they harmonize it really does create an epic sound.

Once you’ve gotten up to speed more on the history of the band and the other singers I would then recommend The Poet And The Pendulum. It’s longer than Ghost Love Score and a very personal song for Tuomas. It’s not one to just jump into, as knowing the story of its creation is important to fully get the emotional impact of it. It’s not one they play often if ever anymore because of the emotions it brings out in him. However, it is a great example of his genius. On a softer note, one of my favorites is Sleeping Sun.

More Nightwish: Song of Myself, Storytime, Last Ride of the Day, Tribal, Shoemaker (these last two are not available live yet, because the album came out during quarantine). You might want to check out Floor's performances from the Dutch tv show Beste Zangers, even though she is singing with the house band it really shows off her skill. Before last summer she was largely unknown in her home country, but now she is one of the most popular singers in the Netherlands.
Shoemaker will never be live according to Floor, to demanding live even for the goddess herself.

For the ultimate Troy flute and bagpipe experience go for "Last of the wilds", Wacken 2013. Instrumental piece bang on the middle of the concert to give Floor a few minutes to break and change. If you want to also hear him sing, "the carpenter" from Buenos Aires 2018.

I think 7 days to the wolves is a good showcase for troy, too. But not with flute or pipes but with this Guitar Thing he does in that. I've rarely heard a guitar sound like that. Maybe someone knows the technical term for what he is doing there.

@@chriscross2473 Not sure about at Wacken. He occaisionally uses an EBow for guitar. When they did the song at Wembley in 2015 he was actually playing a very nice bouzouki. I had not heard one before that.

Emppu does not get enough love his guitar tone is consistently fucking killer and he serves the song perfectly every time...tuomas and floor get so much love(and rightly so) but the whole band are fucking monsters in their own right..!!

Didn't believe it could happen, that any of the songs from their benchmark show at Wacken 2013 could be done better. But, yeah, I WANT MY TEARS BACK live from Buenos Aires 2018 did it !!!
2013 was Floor's first year with Nightwish. I think the Live album Showtime, Storytime is the first release with her. Wembley 2015 and Decades are much better only because the band harmonizes even better.
Great reaction! The enthusiasm you bring to the table is so joyous to watch! As many more have mentioned - a safe bet is to keep doing the Wacken 2013 concert. I also recommend "Seven Days to the Wolves" from their Wembley 2016 performance. If you want to see more flexing by Empu and Marco I would recommend Nightwish cover of Pink Floyd's High Hopes (From the "End of an Era" DVD). Back then they still had their original singer Tarja, but she is not present in that song and Marco is singing lead.
