Finance job has to be one of the easiest jobs hour wise. Airmen mostly are task with making sure airmen are being pay right. Such as payroll, housing allowance and education. Hours 07:30-4:30 M-F and all weekends off.
I’ve seen the Finance people on my base working weekends, I’ve seen them leave work between 4:30pm and midnight. I always see them taking their laptops home with them. Basing the job off of the office hours is stupid. I’d put money on Finance putting in about 80 hours a week. But that’s just my base. And I’ve never seen them close for training. Personnel is easy once you leave the ID card section but I’d encourage looking at other career fields first if you’re looking for a chill job. First, It’s crazy boring and the customer support aspect, while sometimes rewarding, is often angry retirees who hate your guts for things that aren’t your fault. Maintaining a professional demeanor at someone pissing you off is difficult sometimes. A lot of it depends on your base too. I made very good friends doing it but if you wouldn’t like working a customer service desk at a department store or a call center in the civilian world, I’d look at other easier jobs (admin, finance, comm, etc).
Materiel management I wouldn't say is as easy as people say. There are 9 different sections of supply. You move around every 2 years so you are learning how to do another job every two years. Not all sections are warehouse. I'm equipment and we have to put eyes on all the equipment on base. Plus the computer side of it, it's very tedious and a lot to learn. You have to deal with a lot of people. & the hours aren't always 7-4. Some of the warehouses have swing shifts.
I just want to make something clear. The duties of the Traffic Management(TMO) and Ground Transportation(GT) were a bit off. Traffic Management is indeed known to keep track of both cargo and personnel movement but mostly cargo, meaning parts/equipments, depending on the section. TMO can operate any vehicle necessary to accomplish their mission on hand, but ten times out of ten, Ground Transportation formerly known as Vehicle Operations, do the driving and operating of any vehicles needed to delivery parts on or off base. Also, in terms of maintaining vehicles, Ground Trans maintains the vehicles to a certain extent, any extensive fix would need to be done by Vehicle Maintenance which is a whole different AFSC 2T3X1. But all in all, Ground Transportation is definitely on the list of top 10 easy jobs in the Air Force.
Services also does mortuary work and collection of body parts on a battlefield. So, the majority of work is super simple but there are some major drawbacks.
Materiel management, Finance, Contracting, Personnel. Because they sit at a desk all day and have bankers hours and rarely work weekends or deploy. Also medical jobs wouldn't be bad. A lot of them work 3 days 12 hr shift but then have 3 days off. Most don't work weekends. There jobs align with the civilian world also.
