Just now getting familiar enough on the FM9 to really start getting into this. Adding the 800 to the Mark V xt really gave it just the right amount of what I thought it was missing. I have a ton more of Leon lessons to go. Thanks!
I'm so glad you talk about the "Fletcher Munson curve". This is something that I've always struggled with in the world of digital amp modeling. It sucks to have to make those last minute adjustments on stage when you realize that you didn't tame the high end enough. 😬
@@LeonTodd Amazing. I sent your preset to my band and pleaded with them to download it. Make them Leon! Tell em!!!! James Hetfield uses a mix of a diezel amp and a Mesa amp in his fractal. It’s a mint idea
Dude, that DGT really sounds incredible. I’ve been enjoying seeing/hearing it more on the channel. That said though, I’m also a huge fan of your SC245. I still kick myself a bit for not picking one up when they were in production.
Wow.. That thing sounds soooo good. The JCM sounded a tad bit better to me, or more of what I personally like, although both sounded great.. It's amazing what can be done now.. When I first started we were happy to get one good amp tone at a time and that was a struggle. As you've stated many times, we live in a golden time for playing guitar.. Just amazing what technology and companies like AxeFx have done for us guitarists man! Love it.. Thanks brother for the great tones! Drinking my second cup of strong coffee and just sat down to see what was on, and this video came up and I had to have a listen.. Be well and be safe sir.. Tell you're family hello from me and I hope they're all well too!
Both amps sound heavenly...the jcm 800 is gold to my ears for my glam metal riffs, and the boogie I'd play my trashy black doom barbarian riffs with🤣 just love these videos Leon...love the way you explain EQ-ing 🤘🙏
Hi Leon - great fun! I find with my band I’m constantly dialing down reverb and delay cuz the guitar gets washed it in the band sound. How do you manage that? Thanks!!
Wow really needed to learn about that! Question I had was a little more fundamental. In that having a multi delay or plex delay or just lots of delay gets lost when the band is roaring behind you. Thinking you might be cranking up the level of your solo scene to cut through and hear the ambient effects. Anyway, appreciate all the vids in your channel!!
Apologies if you addressed this in the video and I just wasn't paying close enough attention, but -- is it possible to put a delay first, run just the dry signal to one amp model and just the repeats to a different amp model? Not sure why anyone would WANT to, but that's the question I was left pondering so here we are. 😄
I always sounds incredible when I hear some else play through these units. I need to downsize and clean up my guitar set up but I’m on the fence between an FM9 or Helix. Having owned an original Axe FX I really hate the menu controls but I may have to suck it up and do it.
You rule, Leon! This is what I was looking for. You play cool riffs too. Does anybody know if I used the 2 amps in stereo like this for a big sound, would I lose it just going mono to the mixing board at a show?
Excellent tutorial as always 🎸👌🏽💯. How do you use / adjust this preset if in a live gig you get only 1 channel (mono) for your guitar. Can you show/ explain this in a new video?
Got some catching up to you my Friend - you may have missed it how does the feel and sound of the Boss GX-100 compare to an Axe for jamming out of house ? or would you pick new Boss ME-90 - thanks Leon
I love this video, that preset is crazy good. Your playing keeps evolving, your right right is deadly in this video on those rhythms. I think I'm on whatever the last firmware was on my FM9, maybe 4.1. How do you get these beta FW and are they safe to use? As always you're the king brotha.
Thanks brother! They get posted on the forum forum.fractalaudio.com/threads/fm9-firmware-version-5-00-public-beta-1.196266/page-8#post-2443384 It would be a good place to post your fm9 vids as there's definitely people there who would dig what you dial in!
I enjoyed those but I've gone off the amp comparisons recently for a few reasons. They're very time consuming to do right and there's no shortage of other people doing them. I might change my mind though!
What's your favourite dual amp combination?
Left Side - Matchless C-30 | Right Side - Vox AC30TB
LT is your go to on anything Fractal, simply the best source out there imo
Leon, this is the best tone I ever heard on my Fractal, what a great sound, balanced, clear, amazing, thank you so much!!!!!
Wow, thanks!

"Bro that's really bright!" - everyone playing any preset live that was dialled in at low volume !
So I tried this on my Helix, combining a Mesa Mk IV and a Diezel VH4 and it's a kick ass combo! Thanks for showing us this!
My pleasure!
Thanks!
Thankyou!!
@7:17 That sounds amazing.
I wasn't prepared for how huge that sounded!

I just found my new Judas Priest British Steel preset!!! Thanks Leon!!! This is such a huge sound!!!
Great to hear!

Yeah the DGT had certainly jumped right up there with the SC for me.
As always, excellent, really like this new cab stuff. They added. Thanks for the preset.
The Recto and Friedman cabs in particular!
Epic tones
Wow! That's kick ass man! Learning a lot from your videos! Thanks a lot!!! And thanks for sharing the preset!
My pleasure mate 🙂

The musical equivalent of that handshake scene in Predator :p

Friggin amazing!!
not a fractal owner but man watching your videos makes me want to get one -
Sounds gorgeous.
Cheers!
is there a workaround to get a similar sound with the FM3?
Wait!!!!!!!!!
I thought the FM9 couldn't sound any better?!😮
Mano do céu! Que som maravilhoso, topp!

Sounds Killer!!!
damn good tones

Global reverb & delay mix, or map delay/verb mix to the perform pages

Yeah just set the delay mix to 100% and place it before just one of the amps

The Fm3/FM9/Axe-Fx III with Axe-Edit are sooo much easier to use and quicker to dial in than the gen 1 stuff
Gnarly!
I'm gonna try this on my Helix!

I just got the FM3 Turbo MK II, do you think I can do the same there? Blending the two amps in Stereo?
I read my original comment and realised you'd said the FM3. The Fm3 only supports one amp block, apologies for any confusion mate
Excellent tutorial as always 🎸👌🏽💯.

Just casually dropping "boonta" in mid video. Tell me you're from Perth without telling me you're from Perth
Hahaha I'm glad you noticed that. Would love to know where that term originated.
Leon it would be interesting if you can compare de Fm9 with the real amps like you did with the Ax8 !!

Stereo is where its at.
oh I’ve been doing my cab low and high cut in the preamp section of the cab block, not the main part! oops
That's where I generally do it but thought "it's easier to see here" during the vid! Glad you noticed it.
Just a suggestion, Leon: maybe consider trying a new IR or consider contrasting another IR to yours in your videos.
Now dynacabs are out across the board I'll do my best to incorporate that going forward, excellent suggestion!
It's like somebody pouring warm honey into my ears.
