To young people or people transitioning to IT, don't get discouraged by the negative comments, most of the people never watch full videos, in this video I have shown on a normal day we work on systems, monitoring and just like normal IT issues or projects on daily basis. IT is not hard but you have to approach learning and techinal issues with proactive approach, people that are complaining might have a different experience and that is why I put a message at end that we do more but it depends on a situation. In daily corporate life, you drive car, eat lunch and do meetings lol (not sure why so much hate on this) Don't give up, this is a very normal day for a proper sysadmin who know's what they doing and not stressing out 24/7, If someone really want to see Techinal videos in a day in life of system admin then check out my channel with over 1000+ videos. In Summary, everyone has different experience and everyone has a choice to work smartly or work the hard way. Thanks Danish
I am going for the job of a System Administrator this 20th Nov, 2020. I have very much technical skills like troubleshooting, monitoring unwanted activities, and various other stuffs but not in Windows Server OS but normal Windows OS. I am hoping to get through the interview.😎And thanks to you.Your video is quite encouraging.
Some advice. Get a job with a Managed Service Provider ASAP. In-house admin work is terrible. When you work in the MSP space u learn very quickly. After that you can start to specialise and do high paying contract roles. The skill gap between a person thats spent the majority of thier career in-house compared to MSP is night and day. Every contract I have done I am at God level in kniwledge compared to the in-house IT.
I'm getting there. I've got a few more certifications to go to become a system admin. Just completed my A+ Hardware cert and next is the Software exam. Making progress.
Both my CCNA and Comptia Network+ were expired but I was given the job as system administrator but because I had my A.S degree and more overall usable technical experience such as programming/scripting and technical support, I was given the job after 1 month over someone at the company for 2 years
Get a help desk job for a few years and then use that experience to get into System Admin. I never went to school and have no certifications but i have an aptitude for tech. It just takes time but you can definitely get into this type of role without school or certifications.
I knew that there was a grade above desktop support, but I just never knew what it was called until I went to an IT career expo just to network and see what was available. Now I feel like I finally found my calling. So happy I am back in school to get some education and internship experience under my belt. Working on my A+ cert this summer, and going up from there! P.S.: The SQL part made me really excited because I just completed a class all about working with SQL Management Studio, lol
