Hello what is your vscode theme?
i think udemyy is the best for learn dev, i have two courses about python and unity dev
So true Jacob! I always say: “it doesn’t matter which language you learn - although if you want to get really good start in assembly for a few months and do some basic things, then meant C” but generally when you learn one language well and you firmly understand the foundations (hence assembly and or C), you’ll learn any other language on the job.
It’s like learning music. It doesn’t matter which instrument you use. The music foundation is the same. Even horn players that have a boring monopolic instrument learn about chords.
love it , thanks for a 11 minutes, setup , workflow , video quality , mood booster
You're welcome!
I am SO excited to have found a kiwi software engineer's channel! Sometimes it is hard to relate to the mostly American vlogs, nice to see someone in my own environment 😊
I am finishing up my 2nd/last year of a software dev diploma.
Hey, thanks for the comment! Go you! ❤️💪🏼
The way you are clean and your house and office organized has made me organize and move my whole bedroom/office around 😂😊
Love the video, keep it up!!! The small explanations of what you were working on were great, intrigued my mind.
I am flabbergasted at how good your videos are for just a few videos! this is some true inspiration for my videos, i love the pov set up :D
Thanks so much Sarah! ❤️🌴
keep these quality vids going man, way better than most vlogs I watch
Thanks man! Thanks for being here 💪🏼❤️
Most of the day in the life videos shows half the work you do and go hangout or sleep BUT you did so much work which I really enjoyed and it was just 12:15 ish in the afternoon when you ended! 😂 Really like these types of videos! Hats off! I hope you keep making more of these! 👍
Thanks man!
Another great vlog, Jacob! Thanks!
Cheers from Brazil!

My life as a work from home software engineer of 15 years:
1) wake up 7 am, light breakfast
2) Feed chickens and dog
3) check email
4) 9am standup
5) coding until 11am
6) lunch and hot tub
7) 12-3 mostly coding, meetings
8) 3-4 workout or take my husky on a hike
9) Done with work most days, but occasionally have to do some later hours work
10) evenings currently finishing up master's degree in CS specializing in machine learning....after I finish that in December on to an MBA
Weekends: hobbies, going out to eat, working in my woodshop.
I only work after hours if I choose to. Never on weekends.
I'm a full-time paramedic working 86+ hours a week. I have to find something I can support my family of 5 with and actually see them. I do enjoy coding and the challenges. I just have to make the jump and the aspect of getting laid off is scary.
@@andrewoyster7956 Calculated risks will get you up brother, time the risk and you will be on the ground running
I dont know how can 11 minutes go so fast. I love the videos you make! Would love to get more longer ones :D!
I will try! 😂
Holy shit, i saw your comment first before watching the vid and now i can only confirm. You have a good content test mate
For your home theater PC I would recommend getting a Logitech K400. It's a wireless keyboard with built in touchpad. I've used one for years to remote control both my PC and/or HTPC and it works great. It's nice having the touchpad on it so you don't have to use a dedicated mouse or controller with it. But obviously you would still want the controller for playing games.
Amazing Vlog, Jake! Cannot wait to live like this someday!
You can do it!
I enjoyed your vlog sir! please make more of it love from Philippines!!

Hey Jacob! If you get the chance can you make a video on your journey to being a software engineer? I really enjoy the content and I’m aspiring to become a software engineer as well and was surprised when you said you didn’t go to school. Thanks for the content and keep them coming you’re very inspirational!
Man, you’re cute with Hermy😂❤. Love the style of this video. Keep ‘em coming 🎉🎉. Thank you
More to come!
Hey! I'm a software developer too WFH 100%. I've been suscribed since you got less than 500 subs. I've also got a pug that makes me company everyday, so I love Hermy's appearences in your videos🐶. You've already got a fan here👍
Hey thanks so much! ❤️❤️
5:40 , light white background sound is always nice to hear

Awesome video I really liked it!

Microwaving the coffee, the TRUEST coder
I've just recently discovered your channel and I have to say, I'm a huge fan already! The editing, lifestyle and the way you narrate thru your videos (whether it be reviewing products or just giving your opinion and advice on things) is amazing and such a vibe! Nicely done Jacob! I am curious on what your option is on "Swift Playgrounds" and how well of an app it is to get started in iOS Development (which is what I want to focus on and make my career out of). Do you code in Swift too? Or do you use other languages?
Keep up the great work tho!
Outstanding video!! Greetings from the Netherlands (Europe)
To solve your keyboard Bluetooth issue you can connect to one device with 2.4ghz, and the other device with 5.0ghz, if your device is capable of both. I had the same problem and ended up getting a keyboard that could switch between the two.
U are so underrated :( good job and keep going!
Thank you so much!
Love your videos, all the best from Germany ;)
Hey thanks! 🇩🇪❤️
@@JacobSucksAtCode Just saw the NZ weather conditions in the news, glad you are fine :)

Your keyboard supports 3 connection.! You can use fn to choose between them
Ooooh I gotta double check this
I have worked in higher education for 10+ years and now I'm thinking about changing careers. Recently, I've been getting into the idea of becoming a software engineer and your channel has certainly helped. I'd really like connect with you, if you are open. Also, I'm obsessed with your pug. I had a pub a couple years past. His name was Murphy. I loved the lil guy.
I was in full screen and didn''t notice the 11min go by so fast 😂. Nice video by the way. I really wanted to know how the life of a Software Enginner is like
❤️
From the keyboard i will assume you are a top tier engineer
Cool man. keep it up
Such an amazing video and Congratulations For 3k Subs. btw i am your 3000th sub
Hey thanks so much! ❤️
@@JacobSucksAtCode in this Awesome moment when you hit 3k can you give me a keyboard.
Tuna rice and mayo represents me so much
Really relaxing video 😚
Glad you enjoyed
I think your keyboard can have multiple devices. My Keychron can have three. Knowing all models aren't the same but maybe lookup keychron shortcuts for your model.
I find standing desks and standing coding really hard for some reason 😆
I really like having a mix during the day!
Im learning solidity and all that for fun maybe i can get a job in it soon need to keep learning
Nice!

Hello mate! I’m about to graduate from mechanical engineering school in Portugal and I was wondering if it is easy for me to go work in New Zealand and how hard it is to find a job in mechanical engineering there! Loved the video! Cheers

This indeed is the channel for me. Software Developer is my Dream job. So is full stack developement, but I only know Java, HTML and CSS and I really wanna learn JavaScript 😭 but I don't know where to like bro no-one has a good tutorial. But your channel makes my day everytime. I really want you to make a First person detailed vlog of a day in the life of a software developer for like the whole day. Lots of Love from 🇮🇳❤

Another question haha :) so you work with Web3 do you primarily use Solidity? If not what do you use the most for your job?
Mostly typescript based web3 work 😁
@@JacobSucksAtCode ohhhhhh I remember you making fun of JS saying Type script is better 😞 Jk jk lolll that’s awesome though! What a fun position you have it seems!!
I am also coding on a macbook, but i see you are using a windows keyboard? How is the interaction with a windows keyboard and a mac? And what keyboard are you using? :) Love the content. xD
It’s just a mechanical keyboard using Bluetooth. Works great ❤️ iQuinix F96
