The Mechanics were very blessed to have the vocal talents of both Paul Young and Paul Carrack on the same bill . Paul Young wss such an asset, so creative and able to fill in wherever the need presented. His work was such a blessing to all of us, starting with Sad Cafe and even before, with various musical endeavors.He is greatly missed. RIP !

He was a superstar singer in a band that also had the 2nd best singer around - carrack . There was apparently no jealousy between them , and thy were good friends , both superstars ..
Mike Rutherford's 'Mechanics' has been a special pop band. Rutherford is genius in music. This Paul Young, for me one of the best pop-music singer ever.

Great song, great singer, great loss. :( Paul Young was a comet that blazed a trail across the musical sky through the late seventies, eighties and into 2000. We even had the chance to know his music ten years after he died. A light that bright was never going to burn for long. Sometimes I wish he had burned a little less brightly and a bit longer.

Hi Yvette, I notice what a big Paul Young and Sad Cafe fan you are. Me too! Our paths no doubt crossed at the cafe and the mechanics gigs over the years. I met Paul a few times after gigs at the Apollo around 1980. I was only 18 yet he always had time to talk to me and my friends. As good as he is on this vid I think you can see he wasn't well. I'm 54 now and still miss him. Gary.

They all are and Paul Young was. Paul Carrick is still amazing and improved even more over the yrs. He needs to be in the Hall of Fame. He can sing and play and write just about anything. He also wrote for the Eagles and others. They all got better and better over the yrs .
