    Porsche has always been a little more than the typical Sports car… but the pricing has gotten out of hand, especially options which are almost must have items. Add just a few things to this and you are pushing $170,000. It's ridiculous

    • @BabyKobeeee
      @BabyKobeeee 2 года назад +142

      Exactly why I no longer support them. The price is not comparable to the performance on all the models except the turbo line and those cost more than a Huracan

    • @JabbaFanzz
      @JabbaFanzz 2 года назад +84

      It hurts me so much to agree with this but here we are...the prices are horrible and yet that is unfortunately part of the reason why they are as successful as they are. Same goes for any other type of luxury item. Same (almost) can be said about Ferrari. Surely there are other examples as well but this is what came into my mind.

    • @k.w5804
      @k.w5804 2 года назад +20

      Yea and GTS seems to be a good bargain compared to C4S when the usually performance options you want to add anyway. Way too expensive but I think even with that price tag, it would still be kinda hard for Porsche to recoup the R&D costs. Sadly sports cars just don't make money these days.

Most older men buy sports cars because by the time they’re financially able to afford one, they’re no longer the young men they used to be. I hate the fact that society tries to demonize men & place men into boxes.... Especially when it comes to men enjoying their lives and buying what they want. According to society, if a man buys a sports car, he’s either “compensating” or “trying to relive his youth”. Fellas, enjoy your life and buy what YOU want.

But overall there's not much left to do on new cars for somebody who learned in the 80s or 90s. At least not in the engine bay. Man, just a timeless, beautiful car. Every day I find myself more smitten with the 911- save for a few models. The sheer sleekness shows how Porsche has been able to retain this design. Any car nut has "that one" (or a few) car(s) that are held above all else- our dream car(s). Ever since I was a young man, the C3 Corvette, to me, is the sexiest car to ever exist- And my dream car. That, and a Morgan Aero 8 GT coupe. The 911 has now joined the dream car list. This goes way, way beyond looks, clearly. I finally got a Corvette (sadly, not a C3) for my 40th birthday, and I absolutely love it. By my calculations, I could have the used Porsche that I've considered buying by the time I'm about 130. I've never even driven a 911, but I am now dead set on owning one after reading from hundreds of articles and enthusiast's about how truly great they are. Point being, the Corvette is plenty reliable to last me another 90 years.

    Nevertheless I came to the same conclusion Doug did. It’s the best of both worlds.

    With all things factored, this is the one... 5lug wheels for convenience because its a no cost option, with pdcc raised back to normal height, manual. Yellow coupe with red interior matching the Porsche crest on the wheels.

    If I had the money, I think the GTS is the one I'd go for, the only other option in my "hmm, maybe, one day, some day" category would be the Targa 4. I think I'm 10-ish years away from a Carrera as a second car, or a Carrera 4s as an only car, anything beyond that is hopeless optimism.

    Porsche's GTS trims are their secret sauce. I have the 718 Cayman GTS in Chalk, and it is fantabulous. I can totally picture how awesome the 911GTS would be! GTS FTW!

    Those center lock wheels are really cool until you get a flat tire in the middle of nowhere , and then none of the local tire shops can deal with it.

    So let ME get this clear: Porsche charges you for "removing" equipment and calls it a "package" and then charges you. Porsche is laughing all the way to the bank.

    • @ultraguy8771
      @ultraguy8771 2 года назад +4

      In the past it was the opposite - more hardcore models with less equipment would cost less, not more. Alas, times have changed.

      To be fair all brands resort to that lately;
      A bit of tweaking in the engine, remove some comfort/luxury items, use cheaper materials (in sake of "weight saving"), slap it a "Sport" badge and call it a day.
      Profit$$$
      Personally i wouldnt remove the rear seats in a 911, although barely useful they still can come in handy, if i wanted a true 2 seater the i'd go for a Boxster/Cayman.

    It's crazy, when I think of Porsche I think of old guys with retirement money. I don't even consider it as a young man's car. Who knows if Porsche will ever gear towards a younger crowd but I really don't think so.
