To me, the decision was no brainer. But a person that still bought the M4 will probably be very satisfied. I just couldn't bring myself to double my budget for similar driving experience. (Or according to Motor Trend, the Camaro was way better driving experience.)
I drove the gt3 You will really appreciate the difference in engine sound and response. It's wild a car you drive and then think, I never need more excitement than that. And still everyday useable
Gotta admit, the 911 is my fav sports car in the world. I haven’t seen the The ZO6 yet up close. That car came out of nowhere. Love to see a comparison between the two. I’ll take a Carrera S with chrono (hard top) PDK. It looks good in any color. 👍
I've had friends that have owned Porsches, Ferraris and Lamborghinis. Every one said if they had to choose just one it would be the Porsche due to build quality.
I am lucky enough to be able to own cars like this, but I refuse to pay some of these new higher prices. And I certainly won't pay over sticker like most of these people will do to get one.
Even for the base 911 Carrera, and it's supposed to be the base and just standard 911, this thing is just insanely fast with this GTS model. Porsche always just delivers in terms of their performance, and I expected nothing less from those crafty German manufacturers. Not an inch was left untouched in terms of the engineering of this car's performance. And I'll also say that 8-speed PDK dual clutch is the best dual clutch transmission ever, and it's stupid fast to shift~~ It's between this PDK dual clutch or Mercedes' 9-speed multi-clutch transmission that I consider to be the two best transmissions ever, for me at least.

The newest announced T is the sweet spot! The GTS takes a ton traditionally to get the turbos spooled up and the manual is a rough ride due to all the HP and Torque….also, it’s super expensive at this point. The Carrera T is where it at!
drove my friends new turbo s up to 310kmh, it's an animal. unfortunately you get used to the power and always want more, amazing tactile feel on the road, if you have the cash to burn, then just buy one.!!!

Hmmm, that’s a tough one. Both engines sound good when you get the revs going. There is a noticeable difference in sound vs the 3.0L and 3.7L engine though. Neither is bad, you’ll be happy with your Turbo S order bc the difference in speed is quite noticeable 😅
I have a 992 Turbo, I initially ordered a GTS and did wonder if I had made the right decision with the Turbo when I switched to order - You won't be disappointed with a Turbo S as my Turbo Non S is an absolute weapon and the sound is incredible (previously owned a 991.2 Carrera 4 GTS and a 992 Carrera S convertible)
It's 2024, I am looking at a 2022 GTS with the exact same specs as the one in the video, all averaging 10,000 miles. Brand new in 2022, it average $145k, used today, they are going over $165k.
My sweetspot was the 2019 991.2 4 gts. Just perfect fit for me! Btw: Alcantara doesn't allow for ventalated seats. Plus, after having that option, I MUCH prefer leather. Smooth and some of best available vice man-made material that looks great, just don't touch it. You'll find yourself covering the armrest, fighting grime, etc. No thx. 😊
Great car, but compared to the new Z06, this thing just seems mid... 175k for a base model 911 is absurd. And the Interior of the new Z with the CF upgrade is second to none

Yeah it's hard to beat the Chevy Corvette for value compared to these, especially the new Z06 which is just as fast, better equipped, and over $50k less expensive... I think the biggest problem with the Vette for me is the styling, it just never really grew on me, particularly the rear.

Don't buy this Garbage car. Unless you have plenty and I mean plenty of money for basic maintenance. God forbid you have Engine or Transmission problems you can kiss your money goodbye.

I’m curious what octane of gas needs to be in the 911? Not that I can get one anytime soon, but in California, most places will only have up to 91 octane gas. I’ve heard that these need 93 octane gas, but how do people in California drive it around then?
All cars are becoming that way though. I don’t know why they can’t just build each trim and model with a specific set of features and charge for it. They make it like buying computer and having to add so many upgrades to get what you want. You would think it would be easier to build it a specific way and if you want more you need to step up into the next trim.
I would buy a 911s with a manual and rwd (no 4 wheel steering). Power is more than enough. I like the leather and alcantara in this model, but the gts 4 is too heavy. In fact, would love it if the 911 were shorter, narrower and lighter overall. Good review (as usual), however one correction: you cannot spec a base w a manual. You need to go up one trim level to the S for a manual option. Would seriously consider how I might buy a base (if it came with a manual) if I could get it for 120k. Would like to drive one (if/when such a spec existed) back to back with a cayman 4.0 liter.

How do Porche dealers treat people who would rather spend 2500 on a tune than spend 30 grand for the higher end version? I can imagine they would void your warranty.
@@samdavidowicz Warranty only is void if modification directly effects the part you are trying to warrant. Dealers treat everyone who has mods exactly the same, they treat us just fine. A tune isnt goin to void your warranty.

It's against the law, they have to find (most dealers just assume) probable cause that your mod did direct damage whatever needs to be warrantied. So for example you get a CAI and one of the cylinders starts to misfire. They have to link that cylinder started to misfire due to the CAI you installed. They'll assume most people won't fight it and the consumer will cough up the money to fix it. But there have been instances where the consumer won and they did warranty work. But for the most part it's too expensive to do legal battles if there is no guarantee to win said fight.

The Carrera GTS is not available with seat belts in Carmine Red; only Guards Red and Bordeaux Red. The Carrera and GT range is 72.9” wide, while the Turbo range is 74.9” wide. The power tilt/telescope function of the steering wheel is included in any 911 with the 14 or 18-way sport seats plus, and is part of the memory function. This information is available to anyone who isn’t too lazy to check the Porsche website.
I’ll take your word on the width- although that is the first I am hearing of it. I know my seatbelts, stitching, tach and chrono dials are all in fact Carmine Red to match my paint. I think the power steering wheel went away as my 18 way adjustable seats do not have it. Cheers.

Cooled seats are not an option with the gts interior package. The seats need to be perforated, which does not work with the alcantara.

The reason you also got 2.97s 0-60 the second time despite going uphill is likely bc the tires were heated.
Hm the same acceleration numbers like the 670 HP Corvette Z06 with only 473 HP? What will this say to us?

The 911 has the best grip of any RWD sports car. The AWD variants are only useful if you plan to drive in poor winter conditions.

RWD sucks, awd is way better. It’s faster and can be used in any weather condition. RWD cars suck in snow.

Supply chain prices will never go away, IMO. Carrera 4 GTS is now around 215K with options/tax/10K 'market adjustment' in my area. And worth it.
