- It's hard to believe it's been almost 5 years of creating these videos. If you've been here since the beginning, I'm sure you've seen how much we've changed and grown in that time...part of that growth has been internal work that is often difficult to see. As we set new expectations for what our channel looks like going forward, it will allow us to show up in a more impactful and thoughtful way not just in our own lives but in the videos that we share with you. If you've missed the last few episodes, we decided to buy a cabin, move into it and get comfortable for the winter. It has been a LONG 4 years of self building our home and it's time we start living again. Now that it's been a few weeks, this cozy cottage is exactly what our souls needed!

How did we end up here?
It all began with a year of full-time travel, embracing the van life until the world shifted, and we had to adjust accordingly. With travel no longer an option but determined to stay productive, we transformed our compact mobile abode into a self-sufficient off-grid dwelling that fulfilled all our needs. Recognizing the uncertainty of the current tiny home, we quickly realized a permanent residence was the most sensible choice. Over the past three years, we have meticulously overseen every aspect of the project ourselves, planning the construction while simultaneously setting up the off-grid property to sustain our future food requirements. For the last two years we've lived in a Geodesic Dome, which has allowed us to be comfortable (expect for the winter months), while we realize our shipping container home dream. However, this will mark our 4th winter with stable electricity, running water, or a flushing toilet and time has come to come up with a new plan going forward.

I tried to explain this the best I could, I hope it made sense. We’ve absolutely loved this journey with you all over the last 5 years, it’s truly the best decision we’ve ever made but changing how we approach the stories we share feels like time. There might be months where we post 4 videos, and others where we post 2. Life has felt so fleeting lately, so making sure that we’re showing up for ourselves before we show up for anyone else will allow us to be more present in each day. Of course I'm not happy about less content. Honestly I'd rather you do away with tangents than to be inconsistent with this channel. I always end up unsubscribing to channels who become inconsistent because it's like a show you expect on a certain day and it just doesn't come on. While I understand the need to spend time doing things you enjoy off of camera I just get the sense that you guys are getting burnt out with it and in which case I don't want to support a pay check for inconsistency. So many channels do this until they post so sporadically it's just not worth having them as a subscription. So if it gets to where it's super inconsistent I will unsub and find creators who have the energy and time to post regularly. I think I'll go ahead and unsub to tangent because the only reason I subbed was to support you and I feel like the added pressure has been an issue. I wish you guys well but if this becomes an after thought channel I will be unsubscribing this channel too.
This is coming from a 71-year-old straight woman. I just love you two and the love you have for one another. It absolutely warms my heart every time I watch one of your videos. I love the way you interact with one another ... the love, the touching, the comedy, Todd's making so many comments sexually funny, the way Tyler looks at Tod and says, "Oh my God" afterwards - I love every minute of every video. I'll take whatever you put on RUclips, be it every week, once a month or whenever. Thank you for sharing with all of us.

It is a privilege to be part of your lives, and if you need to adjust the frequency of your postings/videos and even stop for extended periods of time, that is fine. The important is that you are both physically, mentally (and financially) healthy. A special shout out to Todd - that you give yourself all the time necessary to feel better. Todd, know that you are funny and an inspiration at the same time! That's quite a combination. It is truly a blessing to follow the two of you, Tyler and Todd, in your life journey.

Guys, you have had several of the top life stressors. You bought and moved into a new home. You had a major flood, you had a death in your close family, you had water issues...plus it is the dead of winter. It does look beautiful there but dark at 4:30 been there. Please, take time for yourself. Enjoy life, but remember that you have to have some kind of structure in life or it is downhill from there. Structure like a video deadline, something you have to do in your life. Love your videos. Love you guys.

I started watching your channel several years ago because of my fascination with tiny homes and then fell in love with your personalities. Your love, respect, admiration and support of each other shines through in each of your short videos you share with us and more recently you have each shared some of your vulnerabilities. I always say to myself I couldn't do what you guys do sharing all my home details and other stuff with strangers and everyone has a comment or opinión but after I realize it's a business who ever do these things.. it must be hard at times,but I'm sure you both will handle it as you see fit.

It's lovely to see Charlie playing vigourously again and such a cute shot with all three beasties spread out snoozing on the bed while you two paint. And the skating shots are simply marvellous. Grief is something that is different for everyone. Two weeks ago, I lost the last of my grandparents, she was 103. Last week, when I was teaching, the class was listening to a story and part of the story was about grandparents. I couldn't stop the tears. Thank goodness, I have a co-teacher who took over while I pulled myself together. Love the ending! You two are my favorite guys to watch on YT. I'm not going anywhere.

Wow, Tyler, you've become an amazing film maker - at the end, that little vignette within a video, of you guys skating - the shots, editing, filming - it was all incredible - it's a lot harder than it looks to make that look so good. And it was touching too - you've made amazing videos for years now, but that reminded me how good you've gotten!

It makes sense to me. As a lifelong cPTSD depression sufferer...laughing on the outside (you know the rest), it is sometimes very challenging to hold it all together. Having compassionate people around us always helps.

@tylerandtodd is there any way to make a wall over another wall? You might lose 4" around the width of the room, but you would be able to have 4" of that purple foam insulation.

I understand winter depression. I lived in NYS (very close to Lake Ontario) for 57 years. That depression happened to me yearly and as I got older, it affected me more. So I sold my home, loaded my car with person belongings and moved to Florida! Never looked back! We'll be here to watch your videos as you make them happen. Love you guys...and the dogs...and the kitty!

I've totally noticed the same as I've gotten older, seasonal depression gets me. We've build a big shed this year, which I hope will keep me entertained through the months that I can't really be outside much!
I struggled with SAD (seasonal affective disorder) when I lived in upstate NY as well. I moved to NC cause I still wanted all the seasons. The sun is an amazing thing. It is a privilege to watch videos. We of course hope you keep us updated on all things but know it’s your time and your health that is most important.
I think anyone with a heart understands. The fact that you want to protect your husband shows your love is genuine. Your relationship and looking out for one another is what matters most- not posting a video. Listening to your explanation brought tears, but then watching you two skating so beautifully to that gorgeous music made me full-on cry. ❤🧡💛💚💙💜

Charlie’s knee gave me an insight of what could be wrong with my little chihuahua. Come to find out his knee tendons were tore and was under the muscle upside down and behind the knee. He had his surgery on February 2nd and is doing wonderful. Please continue with your videos when you can but always take care of yourself, each other, your fur babies, and family. We love you all. Thank you for helping us solve a problem we had with Bear that has been going on for almost 5 years.

Grief is uncontrollable, I'm going through it at the moment having lost my mum and younger sister within 7months.Every day is tough ,But getting better one day at a time It doesn't take much to set me off crying. Best wishes to you both and remember the memories. Xx
