Exactly how I stated in the video. Once at the unit they’ll have to request leave accordingly. Whether or not they have block leave too is on them but that’s a unit policy and commanders describe things but shouldn’t get denied leave then…

Thank you for the video, sergeant. 1. 14 days of leave, does that mean you take 10 business days or does Sat/Sun count as well? My training is longer than 6 months total, but it might be good to know for those who are on the edge. 2. Will you need to be vaccinated against COVID prior to leaving for 14 days? 3. It says that HRAP is only for those that have completed AIT or OSUT, so if you are taking leave in the middle of Basic Training you are out of luck?
You might wanna watch again lol. Maybe you were distracted. 1- 14 full days includes the weekends. 2- No, not required and will be provided at training when the official guidance is finally pushed out for those who don’t already have it. 3- HRAP for Holiday Leave is optional. HRAP for post AIT and before First Unit Duty Station when authorized and is allowed after COVID Restrictions have been lifted won’t count against your normal leave. When you say no alcohol does that mean i cant have not even a drink for christmas.

Question here, just signed my contract, leaving Oct 20th, looks like I’ll be in basic during Holliday block leave, my wife and children will be out of state with my in laws as my wife and I live in a different state and have no family here, will I be able to go to the state they’re in, or will I be sent back to where our home is?

DAT upon arrival as stated in the video. People can make dumb decisions and do stupid things that lead them to getting arrested or ticketed. This will halt your training and worst case scenario get you discharged. As a trainee you’re not allowed to drink, smoke or operate heavy equipment. That includes driving any form of equipment or vehicles too. They don’t want to put yourself in a compromising position and for safety reasons. Hey just curious, do they allow you to wear things such as knee braces if you tweak your knee at basic? Or do they just send you home for something like that regardless of the severity?
You’ll have to go on sick call and have them issue you a knee brace or whatever but avoid sick call at all costs unless it’s absolutely necessary… at the end of the day, you could be discharged worst case scenario or be recycled to an earlier phase if you miss too much training at best case scenario. Does holiday block leave occur EVERY year? If yes, am I correct in thinking soldiers must use 14 of their total 30 days leave sometime during December and January?
Units do have Block Leave. This video is specifically for HBL/Exodus during initial entry training. Which does in fact happen every year and in the video I share all the details to include it being all 14 days. Whether they’ll earn all 14 or not, during initial entry training.
My SIT will finish BCT at the beginning of December. We have read that the AIT for his MOS is full and many people are sitting in hold waiting for spots to open up in his AIT glass. He wanted to ask if he can take extra unearned PTO leading up to HBL since he will likely just be in hold over during that time anyway. Is that possible? He will be active duty after AIT.
Your SIT will only be authorized Leave in accordance with the HBL schedule set by the leadership at their training site. During HBL will the trainees have to wear their fatigues everyday or are civilian clothes okay? I know fatigues required if going to work with recruiters but what about normal day to day stuff like going out to eat or shopping?

Ok. So long story short I just recently graduated MP OSUT and I’m currently in my 2nd week of airborne school. If everything goes smooth I will graduate the 17th of December. Does anyone with Army experience think I will still be able to take HBL when I arrive to Ft Bragg?

I seemed to have missed it , but Can you decide to only take one week and go home? Or does it have to be the full amount of time? And if you decide not to take it at all, then obviously you won’t be taking a leave day reduction right? I’m debating whether it’ll be worth taking holiday block leave or just saving those two weeks to go back home after AIT to help my wife with the PCS.

Unfortunately, you won’t be able to go overseas for HBL and are restricted to anywhere within the US. As for Alcohol, you’re not allowed a drop but no one is going to know if you have a drink or two on Christmas. Just make sure you can pass the drug and alcohol test once you return back to your training site. By then nothing better be in your system. Lol

Question here, just signed my contract, leaving Oct 20th, looks like I’ll be in basic during Holliday block leave, my wife and children will be out of state with my in laws as my wife and I live in a different state and have no family here, will I be able to go to the state they’re in, or will I be sent back to where our home is?

Do you have a secret out top secret clearance MOS/AIT?
During block leave you're not allowed to drink, even if you are far above the legal age limit? Do they do a breathalyzer or some kinda blood test?
DAT upon arrival as stated in the video. People can make dumb decisions and do stupid things that lead them to getting arrested or ticketed. This will halt your training and worst case scenario get you discharged. As a trainee you’re not allowed to drink, smoke or operate heavy equipment. That includes driving any form of equipment or vehicles too. They don’t want to put yourself in a compromising position and for safety reasons. Hey just curious, do they allow you to wear things such as knee braces if you tweak your knee at basic? Or do they just send you home for something like that regardless of the severity?
You’ll have to go on sick call and have them issue you a knee brace or whatever but avoid sick call at all costs unless it’s absolutely necessary… at the end of the day, you could be discharged worst case scenario or be recycled to an earlier phase if you miss too much training at best case scenario. Does holiday block leave occur EVERY year? If yes, am I correct in thinking soldiers must use 14 of their total 30 days leave sometime during December and January?
Units do have Block Leave. This video is specifically for HBL/Exodus during initial entry training. Which does in fact happen every year and in the video I share all the details to include it being all 14 days. Whether they’ll earn all 14 or not, during initial entry training.

My SIT will finish BCT at the beginning of December. We have read that the AIT for his MOS is full and many people are sitting in hold waiting for spots to open up in his AIT glass. He wanted to ask if he can take extra unearned PTO leading up to HBL since he will likely just be in hold over during that time anyway. Is that possible? He will be active duty after AIT.
Your SIT will only be authorized Leave in accordance with the HBL schedule set by the leadership at their training site. During HBL will the trainees have to wear their fatigues everyday or are civilian clothes okay? I know fatigues required if going to work with recruiters but what about normal day to day stuff like going out to eat or shopping?

You’ll have to follow the same guidelines as the rest of the trainees. It may vary with less restriction if your not in the barracks with the trainees and housed separately. Not likely but yeah. Now as far as going on and off post at your measure during HBL more than likely won’t be authorized. Better off just leaving to any destination CONUS for your 14 day leave honestly. Hope this helps!
