    Active Duty Recruiters have gotten away with the fabrications due to the fact that; by the time you return home after your 3-6 years of serving, the Recruiter is long gone. Guard Recruiters normally stay in one location for years and their reputation is everything. Plus, you come right back home after IADT - so if the Recruiter lied to the recruit the recruit will come home and tell everyone in that area, which could ruin that Recruiter. However, if the Recruiter takes care of the recruit, the recruit will come home and brag highly on the Recruiter and the Recruiter will be in a much better situation.

      Guard/career Reserve Recruiters build our tribe by taking care of them. In doing so like you said, provide us with Leads (names/numbers) of possibly interested people. Thus making our lives a Recruiter way easier!

    National guard recruiter here. The video was spot on. I was taught by former recruiter to never ever lie and to not recruit. If you recruit then your like everybody else. When you care and advise based off their situation then you’ll be wayyyyy better off. Because some people want to join the military in general for the wrong reasons. That’s the stuff that puts a bad name on the military. I joined the Mississippi National Guard under the influence of the greatest recruiter ever at 18. Now I’m sitting in his shoes at 25 as a recruiter striving to be better than he was. And I still talk to him now and that’s been 7 years.

So far I feel like my recruiter has been pretty straight up with me it has even gone above and beyond to help me secure the MOS I want. He hasn’t promised me any 4-wheelers or Camaros. I even asked him about enlistment bonuses, and he said they only apply to certain jobs and that a lot of things have to depend if I get one. Overall, I’m pretty happy with my recruiter. I've personally been to 5 recruiters and I have heard completely different things from each of them. Things with immigration, MACP, getting my job, ACASP Procedure. I knew the basic stuff about housing and all that was BS but Ive literally been trying to join the Army for 2+ years now and every recruiter tells a different story. Good recruiters are so hard to find...

    • @TEAMSWARTZ
      @TEAMSWARTZ  3 года назад

      Do you require a waiver? Why so many different recruiters and what do you mean trying to join? We don’t have anything to do with immigration for you need to be a Green Card Holder at minimum to enlist. The current procedure for US Citizenship is once at your first unit of assignment you’ll process and submit your US Citizenship packet (N400/N426) and will go through the expedited process with the intent of obtaining Citizenship on or before your BCT graduation anniversary date. MOS or Job is dependent on Line Scores, Citizenship, drivers license, qualifying for clearances, moral and financial history, medical and then availability and training seats. MACP is not common knowledge and most recruiters don’t know about it or only know what they can Google and read on their landing page. ACASP is spelled out in the regulation and taken care of before you hit the floor for contracting. Because the school house has to accept your civilian acquired skills credentials and experience first before you can leverage that option.

      @@TEAMSWARTZ the first recruiter I went to said that I couldn’t enlist with only my 2-year green card. He said I needed to be a good ways into my 10 year before I could proceed so we decided to start our family and then we PCS’d from fort drum to fort wainwright, I got integrated with a recruiter there who said I needed to wait my 6 months postpartum before I could start the process but that my 2 year green card was perfectly fine. So I could have enlisted in NY but the recruiter lied. Next thing, the wainwright recruiter promised me that if my acasp was approved by the schoolhouse then it was more than likely that I would get a preference of duty station which was not true because I follow my husband who’s already been in for 6 years. Next we get orders for Arizona, we are now here in Arizona and I’ve gone to 3 different recruiting stations. The first one told me that I had to accept a heavy mos because I had “too much weight to lose” and that acasp would not be in my favor. I went to the next one, this one told me that processing overweight immigrants wasn’t worth her time because she got enough recruits from the local high school. I go to my current recruiter and they laid it all out right for me and are setting me up with all the right tools to be successful and finally join the army. It took 5 recruiters and 5 different recruiting stations but I’ve finally found 1 that was honest and truly willing to put in the time. It’s not difficult to put me in, it’s just not as simple as an 18 year old kid fresh out of high school. I have no record, not medical problems other than I had a child. I’ve been a pharmacy technician for almost 8 years with every accolade and credential in the book, bachelors degree and the most stable family care plan. I’m an easy recruit, I do need to lose some inches because the army tape test is not as accepting of fully figured women but I am working on it. Scored a 489 on my last practice ACFT but my hips are 2” too wide so they don’t care about my ACFT score lol

    I enlisted first time in 2016 under MAVNI program as an Active Duty, I been waiting for all kind of different investigations (who is familiar with MAVNI program know what I’m talking about) but never shipped out to BCT. After becoming a PR, I signed a new contract with new recruiter. I have learned and researched so much for the past 5 years that I know exactly what it is true and what is not. I agree that the best advice is if it’s not written on the paper and signed - then you should do some research or even check with different recruiters! It’s like you ask bank for a loan and the bank will tell you that your APR is 0%, it probably won’t be true unless bank send you to sign agreement with 0% APR. All promises are promises unless it’s documented!

      He is right if you were in a unit that’s not lined up and preparing for a deployment. Sounds to me like you’re doing predeployment training. I can’t speak for your Recruiter but I share a typical schedule for a combat support unit versus a combat arms unit and if it’s a typical drill schedule versus a unit ramping up for a deployment. That way they’re aware of the possibilities to prevent expectations like this from being twisted and being felt like you were lied to. Sorry to hear that… What’s your MOS?

    When I went to my recruiter for the 1st time, he straight up told me when he sat down "I know You know your shit" and I said I sure do 👏🏽😂
    I feel like some recruiters know who to mess with and who not to 💯 ( basically who do their research & who doesn’t).
    Yes there’s a lot of recruiters who lie but at the end of the day, it’s your responsibility to do the research and use your discernment . So I don’t feel sorry for people who always blame their recruiters for lying to them in this day in age, when there’s so much research out there.

    • @TEAMSWARTZ
      @TEAMSWARTZ  3 года назад +1

      I totally agree and honestly, I prefer they already did at least a basic level of research. I spend less time explaining and most of what I share confirms what they already learned. It’s more of let me get to know you, marry your needs, wants and desires with what we have to offer to see if we would be a good fit or not. Then ask for the commitment. Simply sharing information needed to help make a well informed decision. Despite certain leadership throughout my 17yrs of recruiting, I am not a manipulator. Meaning, I don’t sell the Guard. I share the Guard and I don’t try to sell you or strong arm or overtly be like you need to join type of tactics. Here’s the information and how we can help, wanna make it happen? Hope that makes sense. I hate when recruiters pressure people into joining and/or rush the process.

      @@TEAMSWARTZ See that’s why I respect you 💪🏽
      I can tell by your energy your a great person / recruiter 😎. Thank you for not being one of those bad recruiters out there. Your really making a huge impact on people lives. I had so many recruiters over the time put me down and say that the job I want (68C) is very hard to get and your not going to get that job, or it’s to hard etc. I know it’s a hard slot to get but I’m going to keep trying because I’m really passionate about it . I really dislike it when certain recruiters try to force you to take a lower job than what you want. I know it’s y’all job to make recruits to see other options if the job they want isn’t available. But some recruiters do it in a way to make you feel less then. Especially if you fail the test.
      Personally, I don’t want to just take a job that going to make me miserable. I wanna love what I do & be happy. I don’t wanna be one of those veterans that talk so bad about the military & scare other kids from joining. There’s a lot of good that comes out of it.
      This is my only way out of my neighborhood & give me a better life for myself.
      Once again THANK YOU SO MUCH Your the best 👏🏽🇺🇸
