My cousin had a 1940 Chevy Coupe that had belonged to my uncle and was stored in our grandma’s garage. It was in bad shape but he was planning on restoring it. One day a few years ago some “nice guy” showed up and told grandma he would clean her garage up and get that old car out of there for her. Grandma didn’t know any better but it’s a shame what that guy did. He’s no better than a thief in my opinion. It wouldn’t have been as bad if had paid her what it was worth but he acted like he was doing her a favor by getting it out of there. Anyway good luck on your barn find.
i had one just like it mohair interior paid 65.00 for it at auction in hubble ne 4 dor what a bunch of kids hauler drove it til it just played out wish i still had it
I have a special deluxe my brother gave it to me in 1964, I drove it while in high school and then I went to the army for 20 years and my brother keep it until I came back, then I started to work on it and I have it still, now I got an LS and its going to be ready by the end of the year all the drive gear is new and I will have an automatic tranny and air conditioner, looking forward to drive my dear old car, it will be 58 years that I have this car my first car.
2 years ago I got brought to tears by one of my good friends his aunt had the samn car year and all only hers drove and everything still looked almost new all orginal also and wail come to find out two days after she passed his drug addict brother sold they car for 2000 American dollars I literally cried bc I attempted to buy the car 4 times wail knowing about it I even offered 10 grand at one point then to find out it was sole for 2 but. Beautiful 1940 Chevy I have a 1941 coupe I got from the original owner
Keep it stock! NO computers, NO sensors, NO fuel injection, NO Camaro sub frame, NO rack and pinion!
Can I ask what he paid for it? I'm looking at one that the body is in ok shape but the interior is full of mouse evidence
He bought it from some very close friends. I doubt he paid market price. Honestly, I don’t know if I asked him what he paid.

You don't have an old car, you have a modern car that merely LOOKS like an old car. Shame.
