- On "My Car Story" we're in Fountain Hills, AZ at the Sunday Car Show 1-14-18.
We're looking at a 1940 Chevrolet Special Deluxe Cabriolet in Green Paint.
The car's Owner is Ted Fuchs. Ted’s had this car since 2011. He shares likes rare Chevy’s, and this one fits that description.
ENJOY!
Another rare find. I really like that paint, & all the brighteork looks flawless, too. Thanks, Lou!
Hi TheGunfighter45acp, Glad you like this "rare find" :-) You're welcome, Lou
Love every detail on this car.
Hi John Maccoy, Glad you "love" the details on this one :-) Lou
My grandfather had a 4 door hard top special deluxe. My grandmother is having it fixed as a late college graduation gift, looking forward to it.
Hi Remo Gen, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your Grandfathers car & a nice gift too :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing. Hope you Subscribe, and hit the "bell" so you can see all the cars when they are uploaded on this RUclips Channel, Lou
Lou Costabile sure thing, and thanks. Dug up a picture, last picture of when it ran back in 2006: www.dropbox.com/s/5dyezg6mpp7ut5t/Photo%20Aug%2026%2C%2011%2027%2055%20PM.jpg?dl=0
A beautiful , practical and very Usable Car !
Hi Derrick Rees, You're right. Well said, Lou
What an awesome blast from the past - quite unique and spectacular! Thanks for sharing
Hi Tom Gill Chevrolet, Glad you thought this one is "spectacular!" :-) Hope you see many more Chevrolet's you'll enjoy on the Channel. If you type in RUclips search "My Car Story with Lou Chevrolet" they should pop right up. Enjoy! Lou
Wow, wow, wow. The trunk and interior are delicious. This fellow has some really excellent taste and maybe Chevrolet also deserves some credit too. But all I can say is “I want one”. This car is jewelry for men as far as I’m concerned. I never saw the attraction in rings, necklaces etc. because they had no other function, but this is better than jewelry inside and out. Beautiful gauges too. So much nicer than rectangular designs like were in many of the cars to come later.
Wow x 3 = Winner :-)
Ted is a very knowledgeable Chevy guy. I think he is a fan of everything Chevy except a 216 6 cylinder engine. Beautiful car.
Hi Gary, Thanks for sharing and glad to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-) Lou
Wow, cool hulk of a car... big, beautiful and pretty green!! Nice yellow rims, looks good on it. I love the hood emblem! I like the little dash doll, made me smile. The black cover plays well against that classy grille... great duo! Just a magnificent ride! Really fun vid n story! Thank you!
Hi WickedFireFly13, You're view and description is again, AMAZING!! I'm always tickled to read what you see. You're welcome, and clearly the pleasure is mine, Lou
You should get a lot more views lou. I love the effort you put into showcasing classics.
Hi GadsdenFlagHero, Tell and share the Channel with your Friends as that helps "get the word out". Thank you for the kind words regarding the effort as they are truly appreciated :-) Lou
This is a nicely-done beauty of a street rod. Why can't people be happy for him instead of bashing his Chevy?
Hi Keith Coppage, Glad you enjoyed this "beauty of a street rod" :-) Lou
Great colour choices! Sometimes there are colours that add so much to a car and this is one of those cases. I guess what I mean is once you see the car in those colours, you’re hooked, but if I was going through colour samples, I can’t imagine going “those colours are going to look awesome”.
Happy to read you enjoy the colour choices for this car :-)
Nice nice loved this one
Hi Marco Gallo, Glad you "love" this one :-) Lou
EU AMO ESTES CARROS ANTIGOS PRESERVADOS OU RECUPERADOS NA SUA ORIGINALIDADE.

Cool car for sure.
Hi Ed B., Nice :-) Lou
The first and probably last time I will ever see a unique car like this one...
You might be right Kramden.....
Thanks Lou, what an amazing car. The color combination is fantastic. Does the clear top part of "The Flying Lady" light up? That dash is beautiful. I really like the "Fuel Injection" script letters on the fire wall. Like on the 57 Chevrolets and Corvettes. The painted wheels, with trim rings and period hub caps are a great touch. Mr. Fuchs really did a good job on marrying the 1940 body to a modern chassis and running gear.
Hi Randall Frank, All high praise :-) Not sure about the light up Flying Lady. Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
Wow, what a very beautiful gal. Very great car and I like the way it's designed and the engine sound was fabulous, John
High praise John Roberts :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
Lou Costabile, also, can you check my latest videos? It has a Dodge Challenger, an AMC Gremlin and a Camaro.
Thank you, and unexpectedly, I might recieve a comment from you.
Your choice, John
If that Gremlin gets some paint and 1 new tire and it might qualify for a "My Car Story".
Lou Costabile, you're right.
Nice :)
Glad you enjoyed this one :-)
:)
Nice car. No longer a 1940 Chevy but I know some like the mods.
Happy to read you appreciate this car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing. Lou
Very Unique & Rare CHEVY.It Would Do Very Good At A Graded Car Show,Even Without the Orig.Engine
Hi Ed Cain, Thank you for viewing and sharing your knowledge, Lou
I have a 1941 special deluxe coupe. Not as rare as the convertible. Nice car! The hood ornament Flying Lady appears to be the same as 1941. Everything else seems to be unique to 40 as the owner says.
Hi William, Happy to read you have a fun car too :-) Lou
Lou, Says there are 48 comments with just over 20 showing. Please explain. Very interesting machine.
No idea.
Hi Lou, the owner seems to be very well informed..
Hi Kostas G, A good car & story :-) Lou
Great looking car. But the pep boys exhaust tips look bad. I would've put on the period correct exhaust tip covers.
Hi William Scott, Glad to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing your thoughts, Lou
I'd like to buy a 40 chevy convertible
Hope you're behind the wheel of the right one for you soon :-)
Love the car , the leather chapps not so much.
Hi tony butcher, Glad you love the car :-) Ted's getting a "clear bra" soon, so you'll see all that wonderful front end, Lou
The 'chapps' are actually an easily removed vinyl 'bra' as they are called. Very efficient paint protection on a carthat is driven a lot. With a car of this quality, fenders are removed to repaint the many rock chips that occur. A clearbra has been installed since the video to make it a bit easier on the eyes. Thanks,
Ruined it. Should have kept it completely stock. Did a nice job on it tho.
Hi zooba1974, Clearly this one is not for you :-( Hope you see many more cars on this RUclips Channel you'll enjoy :-) Lou
Nice car, too bad he had to destroy it.
Hi estpst, Clearly this one is not for you. Hope you see many more cars on the Channel you'll enjoy, Lou
Have someone who knowes Cars . This guy is clueless. About older cars
I'm learning Howard and Susie Nielsen on every car I do. Lou
Howard, have Susie teach you how to spell.
Jealous?
And you can't spell.
