  • On January 19th, a Quebec Superior Court judge ruled that Honeywell was in breach of its contract with Bombardier. Honeywell, the supplier of engines that propel some of Bombardier's business jets, was contractually obligated to offer the Canadian planemaker the best price.

It would be great if you would stop trying to overpower the voice with the loud music.

It sounds to me like Honeywell are in the wrong here.

If my company got Honeywell to develop and engine for my aircraft, and then they start selling this engine to other manufactures hurting my business; then I would expect the savings due to economies of scale to be passed back to me the original customer.

But Honeywell paid for the R&D. Bombardier didn't.

Interesting part is that the only one having issues is bombardier with Honeywell there’s no exclusivity with most of these smaller engines, and the notion that that would be is foolish sounds to me like there are some other legal issues that are not listed here in this short clip. Be mindful Honeywell does not need bombardier bombardier needs Honeywell.

This is all relating to the business end of things - the quality of the product is very high, and how can you not love the distinctive howl of the HTF7000 on the Challenger 300/350 😍😍😍

Suing one of your largest supplies just can't be the smartest business decision - unless you pretty much don't want to buy anything from them again. And that's going to be hard to do because Honeywell is all over these airplanes. Even if they want to exclude Honeywell on future aircraft the competition will know that they're they're the only serious bidder and their prices will reflect it.

Bombardier only exists due to the Canadian government carrying them around. They never managed to make planes that bring them money.

If Bombardier believed the price was too high why did they complete the purchase? If you don't like the price don't write the check.

Because there’s only one model of engine certified for their jet. It literally costs billions to reengine and get recertification.

    • @richardpearcy6149

@@benhart16 Didn't Bombardier help engineer, design and build the engine? Bombardier had to know the cost and should have taken steps to control the costs. Sounds to me like Bombardier dropped the ball and is now whining about their fumble.
