I'm extremely grateful for your time and effort to explain in depth this svs app. To be honest, I'm not sure if there are layman's terms for novices because the app contains a complicated body of terminology barely heard by newcomers. With that said, the ability to control basic settings (even if some settings are beyond one's understanding) on the app is a godsend in itself. Perhaps with time and a lot more research things will gradually settle down.
Wow... I have 3 SVS subs. 2 (L&R) and 1 rear. I never knew what any of this stuff meant. Thank you for the valuable info. Ill have to check out your channel.
Good day to you Kpaceguy & Happy New Year 2023. I really like your audio/ video reviews & want to say thank you. I recently purchased my first SVS-4000 Subwoofer as a birthday gift for myself. Your guidance & demonstration of how to use the SVS App is awesome & very intuitive, so again thank you.
Thanks for this review man. You made this very simple. I have a svs pb 1000 pro on the way and every video I've seen, the guys would just get to technical on laptops. I don't want to do all that. You did a perfect walk through. Can't wait for my sub to come in now.
This is very informative for someone new. I know what all the options mean. What I need help with is how can I measure my room acoustics to set the SVS app, sort of like Audyssey does on an AVR.
Only way you can is to buy your own mic and use the free software called room eq wizard. Then you can measure your subs and make adjustments but it's all manual EQ. I have videos about it in a playlist called "minidsp" that will at least show you how so you can decide if you want to take that task on.
Very very good information I'm still a few weeks away from placing my order however at least I now have the app which is going to make it easier upon arrival thank you for sharing your information.
Thank you, this helped me a lot. I have SVS 4000SP and its kicking like a horse. One of my friend can't even breath in my livingroom. Also have a really old Jamo 8'' ported version. Together they make so much noice, my neoughors say their pictures are coming of the wall and their saunas are vibraiting.
Great video. thanks. question please. : On the PB-1000Pro. Is the LFE light needs to glow always? (I'm using LFE on my processor and connect the Audio cable to the Sub's LFE Input only. As now the subwoofer working without the light.
Hello sir, thanks very much for this tutorial. Should I use the LFE or RCA to connect the wireless adapter to the sub? That may impact what I choose on the app ie LFE vs crossover right?
KPace.. when you adjust the EQ on the app for the SVS, after you set it to where you want, do you leave the eq on or do you shut the EQ back off on the app??
Thank you @Kpaceguy Right on time!.... By the way The Left Channel just went out on my SC_99...lol...Now gotta use my Stand by VSX_80...taking it in for Repairs but,I may be making another purchase for separates or another Reciever....was looking at the Pioneer SC904.... I'm thinking of going in another Direction, Marantz,Denon or any Other direction you May suggest...Where Do you start the journey on building the Separate system? So many Directions, getting Overwhelmed. Need all input! Thanks for the video,Big Help!
Good Suggestion....But at the moment I will work with my Martin Logans at the moment,so this is my Uncertainty at this time....Do I Go reciever right now and get a power amp with it to drive everything I have at this time and overtime change out too a processor at a later Date and then upgrade my speakers or just go pre_pro and power amplifier
Majority of this video was great but I had trouble understanding the parametric EQ. If I don’t understand that how will I understand what “peaks at 80hz” means?
Thanks for the tutorial! One question I can't seem to find an answer to: How do you set one of your presets to actually save (and stay) as the default for the sub? I keep making changes and saving to the presets, then setting the presets I want on the home page. All fine that evening, come back the next morning and the sub has reset back to default, I then have to open the app to change back to my preferred preset. Very annoying having to this for every listening session.
On the svs 3000.micro, what is the svs soundpath wireless audio adapter port for on the back of the svs sub? And where do you get the cabel? Please share a link to get cabel.
When you buy their wireless adapters they plug directly into the sub to provide power to the adapter if you rather have wireless subs instead of wired. Amazon has them.
Very informative, I just got a PB-3000 but now it makes even my Mount projector to shake didn't happened before with my 2 klipsch, do you think is because it goes deeper in frequency or just because is louder? Any recommendations, thanks
For the sake of my family, I'm unable to use the sub most of the time but still want to use my A/V system so my question is ...As i'm not physically able to get to the sub to manually turn it on or off, using the app, can you put the sub into standby mode or switch it off then on again via the app? If this isn't possible with the SVS subs and I'm considering buying the 3000 Micro, do you know any other brands musical but also good for movies sub that has this ability via app control? Or can you turn these on or off with the included remote? (Urgh, I see no power on/off button for the SVS remote control) Otherwise, could I disable the sub via a receiver/amp though I don't want the sub running all the time whether I'm listening or not as that would be terrible for my electricity bill.
I'm a little bit new to using the SVS app. and to good subs/bass. What would be too high to damage the sub? Is -10 or higher? I have the PB 2000 Pro and love it but don't want to damage it at all. Thanks.
@@Kpaceguy oh crap, no way. See I was running it with my old PB 1000 but an trying to run the PB 2000 Pro on its own to see if the results are better. Thanks for the reply man! Appreciate it very much.
Hey, you seem to seriously know what you're doing. I need help. I just received my SVS PB2000 and having trouble hearing the sub. I have a Sony STR550 and I did have a polk audio 12inch sub that went bad. I called the guys at SVS but either he didn't care or didn't know what he was doing. Of the very few settings he had me make, now I can't hear my polk audio, (which I plan to change for SVS soon) tower speakers. Can u help me change my settings? I'll even pay
First thing is to rerun calibration to reset everything you've changed After that, play music and put your ear to every speaker and make sure they are making clearly audible music Once you've identified that, you need to place your subwoofer in the right location(s). If you see the sub moving a lot but you don't hear much, your sub is in the wrong spot. I'll link you to my "how to" videos to help you set everything up. ruclips.net/p/PLM3Bb-kFpIEIYF3KgGzWkh2I2Lja4-YUp
Thanks for the vid but i am a real novice. All way too confusing. I just want to plug and play music. I recently bought a Bluesound powernode 2, Dali oberon 5 speakers and a SVS 3000 micro sub. I cant get anything to sound good. The moment i think i have cracked it i play another track and it sounds awful. Sorry i bought it all now and cannot find good info on how to calibrate it all...
You should touch the arrow on the bottom and the press “save to preset” in the Home Screen. I had the same problem as you, it’s simple as that. I guess is not very well designed if a lot of people can’t figure out something so simple, I had to search it.
