Thanks a lot for this video. I have learned how to avoid wheel slip, how to start after the Sand Patch stop, and the use of the Dynamic Brake (I even ignored it was functional!). Three very important skills. Thanks again
i cant get up the hill to sand patch it slows to down to 0 0.6 miles away why dont these trains have enough power to pull all these cars i dont know what to do part from start over on it
Hi! For me, the sander helps a little bit. Also, when you drop down to 0, were you at very slow speed? If you get to 0, try to apply some brakes (not to much) and gradually increase the throttle (maybe some 400 or 500 amps), then release the brakes and see what happens. Don't apply too much power, watchout for wheel slip. Hope it helps!
Great vid, I rode the dynamic break on max, ind break on max and then lightly rode the emergency break when necessary. Next time will try just the dynamic and e break like you (I work in a small train yard about a mile long, hardly reach 10mph, so never touched a e break in my life lol)
It seems the dynamic brakes are much more effective than they are now... I vaguely remember only needed 23% train brake, but I retry this scenario recently and I was still gaining speed even with 60% train brakes
The in-game tutorials don't tell you much anyway as they talk about on just how to get the locomotive moving. They are not in depth and there's more than that operators do IRL.
My dynamic brakes not only don't show any "usage", but they don't work at all when I put it into setup for a minute and set it to any DB. Was doing this scenario
Sorry if I tell something you already know, but the dynamic brake uses the rotation of the traction motors only to SLOW down the train, not to bring it to full stop. For a full stop you either use the Independent Brake (fine when you drive the loco alone) or the Auto Brake (full train).
Hello! Thanks for your videos! In this scenario, I do everything like you, but 4 miles before arriving in Cumberland, the speed drops to 0. What do you think, what could be the reason?
@@NealTV8 no, I played without him. I noticed that I give traction to the locomotive differently. I immediately turn on the 6-7 level. The video shows the speed of 30 miles per hour, I have a maximum of 20 in the same place.
I am also having trouble getting up the hill. I have done everything according to the instructions and still fall short of making the hill. Does anyone have a suggestion that I may try. I love the gave but it is frustrating when you cannot figure out why something is wrong. Thanks to anyone who might have a solution.
It is basically a deadman switch to let the train know that the engineer is still alive and awake. If any control hasn't been touched for a minute then the alarm would sound and therefore, the engineer must press the yellow acknowledge button or move a control to reset it. It would reset if a control is moved so it is not every minute.
@@ParanoimiaUK I still have no idea what to do, I was able to somehow get it forward but given how heavy the train was, keeping speed once going was such a pain I gave up. I tried it again, same issue but I wasn't so lucky to get it going this time. What sucks is I checked everything off multiple times, there should be no issue 😭
Curious that the RUclips video shows the driver take the track warrant, put the train in gear, and roll off into the sunset. Unfortunately, I can't manage to get up this hill. I have tried a few brake/throttle combinations to no avail. I did see one video where the driver ran back to the trailing engines and did something. It was so fast that I couldn't keep up, that and the fact that the video was sped up. Great run. Some masochist is somewhere laughing his face off. This is not even close to being funny as it now represents a vile waste of my time.
Interesting and funny that you will need all four locomotives while this should be a failed train with no power available. Even downhill services wouldn't need helpers and on the train this size. Unless Dovetail did mess up something then great point that it seems interesting that I would want to get these rerecorded but I have time for other things. This video isn't sped up at all. When you do ever see any part sped up on this 2 hour video? It is just me that maybe because I beating this same exact scenario in the previous game that doesn't realized that Banking COMM would be needed on this one. The game didn't tell me because the fact the trains in Train Sim World 2020 were so weightless for a heavy freight train. All though, besides I didn't had proper knowledge to work out Banking COMM and it was needed on heavy freight services on a German route that was going up hill.

My train is rolling backwards uncontrollably when I stop, like what I’m doing wrong????
You have to set up the train for MU operation.

Petite question mais roue fond que de patiner en monter et ducoup impossible d aller plus louin comment faire

It would be great if it worked. The in game tutorials often leave out key info. So the dev's want to keep it a secret? Glad I got my copy free.

You supposed to wait until the ammeter shows it is in the yellow range and dynamic brakes are operational. Just put it in setup and give it some time.
@@NealTV8 I did that , even slammed into emergency to do it while stopped didn't do anything.
@@zvonimirkezele4028 It doesn't work for me either. Game error. How can such a mistake in the game be made. Do you have any solution?

Hey how do I get train sim world 2 ?
You can't, now it is Train Sim World 4 selling.
Finally I made that uphill
Nice control 👌

I can't get up the damn hill when you get the Viaduct stop notice 😭
The train went up and stopped being a lazy bitch yay
Same problem. No matter what I do - even if I do exactly the same as in this video - the second I release the brakes, the train just slides backwards.

But I'm too pro to do it.

You have to wait for the train you're following to clear the block.
