Last year I did a three part video series repairing an Oberheim Four Voice. Now I've got couple more Four Voices in for repair, and I thought we'd check one of them out together. In this one we repair a problem with the polyphonic keyboard assigner module.
Parts, service and synthesizers available on my website. I buy broken synthesizers!
My 2 Favorite Synths; the TVS and the FVS !😁 !
wow!!!!!! COOL!!!
Amazing work! You should consider renaming yourself "OPAMP chaser" because there are no bad opamps that are safe from you finding them!
Amazing that a 50 year old vactrol still works! LED technology was still in infancy back then.
Thx for the explanations and schematic discussion.
wish i had some of this knowledge and understanding of this kind of electronics !....
I’ll never tire of hearing those oscillators! Thanks Synthchaser that was fun, very interesting how the vactrol is used for the portamento!
Great video, thanks for uploading!
Great work!
way fun!
So rad
Neat 😮💨
Great vid, many thanks
Not often you see three vintage Oberheims together like that. Hope you don't mind me asking but, when you replace an opamp, do you socket the new one? We did on mine, and quite a few of them required replacing, I think because the instrument was not stored in an ideal place. Oh, and, nice t-shirt!
Now that was weird. Did you overdub the opening? Sounds like you are in a room. LOL
Probably was wearing a lavalier microphone.
Hi , would like to replace my MC505s , Filter and centre notched Resonance pot which i assume the previous owner destroyed all the grease from spraying with contact cleaner
.Can you recommend a higher quality brand potentiometer or should i just go with Roland OEM ?
PS Oberheim 4 voice my favourite synthesizer..
Nice work.😂
Hi M8 , how come you have your oscilloscope make and model covered with blue tape?
Cheers
it's a Rigol, it's viewable in other videos, probably just somewhere to temporarily store a piece of tape : )
@@robinsutcliffe-video_art I do they same thing with pieces of tape..
myself also! And then I forget where it is almost immediately : )
