Absolutely love the bike, but would like to see that seat subframe level with the gas tank, and I absolutely love the song you guys chose for your background, love that dark necessities song
Oooh, that Adrenaline pumping, the Excitement when it's - Time to Fire It Up!! TFS Bear, Nice build. Those earlier Xv frames are better for Cafe conversion imo. Gotsta gets me one, one day... RSOT >:)
That rear wheel conversion you guys fabricated is awesome! I’m currently build my own virago cafe racer by any chance would you share the plans for that?
Hi, the rear wheel is from a Suzuki GS500, the centre on the sprocket side was milled down and then after a lot of measuring and re measuring, a custom hub was drawn up and sent away to the cnc operator. From there the hub is welded into the wheel and custom spacers turned up. Unfortunately I dont have any further plans but part of the fun is figuring it out! Good luck with the build!
Bear Inc I figured as much. I am in such a big hurry to finish my bike with the riding season almost over trying to find some quick ways of getting it done. Thanx, so much for the info!
Nice looking cafe except for that seat. First time you have to brake REALLY hard, you are going to feel like you are going over those clip-ons. Most of your weight is above them already. When you brake heavily, the front end goes down, putting your body at risk of taking flight.
Exactly right @senior rider, this was my first build and I had no idea about bike geometry. It put a lot of pressure on my wrists and elbows riding it...lesson learned!
@@jcateer Well, that's how most of us learn. :-) I remember cafeing my RD350 back in the mid 70's and I put a TZ250 dual disc complete front end on my RD. Thought it rested on the side stand kind of funny, but paid it no mind and took it for a quick ride up my favorite tight turns stretch of road. I darn near didn't make the first turn. The bike didn't want to turn. The extra inch in height of the TZ front end gave me a longer trail and slowed the steering down significantly. Lowered the fork tubes up thru the triple clamps 1" and went back out. WHOO hoo, quick handling once again. Learn all of the things that can affect handling so you can be more prepared in planning your builds. I knew these Viragos were going to be a good cafe bike one day. My first one was after my RD and with the new Dunlop Elites in 1981, my 750 was a lot of fun in the mountains of San Diego county. I now have an 1100 Virago. Be safe and keep the rubber side down.
What shocks/ Springs did you use? Any modifications required for them? Or maybe you have a write up somewhere? Bad ass build! I’m doing the same on an XV920!
Miguel Galicia Thanks man! The shock is from a kawasaki, im not sure what model and yeah it was custom made to match the length of the old shock! Good luck with your 920!
You had me all excited to see the turbo at 3:21 It would have been awesome to see it in at the end of the video!!
Absolutely in love with the Virago cafe racer style bikes,43 need to get me a licence i think!!
neil maddox did you end up getting it??
Nice version of virago cafe racer. Like twin headlights and the modified rear wheel with disc

great work guys. .💪
from which motorcycle ist the rear wheel. and which size?
Pelkapa thank you! The wheel is from a Suzuki GS500 with a custom machined hub to fit onto the driveshaft of the XV
I like this mod in particular

Nice bike mate
Do you still have xv back wheel and if you do can i buy it from you
SICK build guys love it! What forks are those and how did you make them fit the virago?
Leon Kishchenko Thank you! It's a 98 R1 fork with a All Balls Racing bearing conversion kit
Yes my choice too...R1 with All Balls bearings and cognito stem
Not much for the angle of that seat subframe. It looks like the bike is broken in the middle
Наверное русский заказал Ямаху)
