That lockout mechanism is good for dragracing Hondas. A common thing you do in drag racing is going from 2nd to 5th when shifting fast. That’s kind of a nice feature to have so you can slam into 3rd and not worry about going into 5th.
I think it's time you start clarifying what solid mounts are. Technically, you don't have solid mounts as they're poly and have deflection. Solid billet mounts are solid. So what do you mean? 75a and higher? Would 65a mounts be considered solid? What do you consider a solid mount?
Solid means metal. These fixed mount shifters need solid metal mounts (usually for the engine and trans). Any poly has the potential to allow too much movement for the shifter to handle
Cool Shifter. The best mod for B series transmission is the Speed Factory Modified Shift Change Holder Assembly. (SCHA) most of these B series transmissions have at least 100,000 Miles on them and how many shifts. The Speed Factory SCHA ups the spring tension and beefs up the assembly that moves the forks that changes gears. Yes, you have to open your trans to replace it but this gives you the positive engagement and stiffens the side to side movement. 2-3 shifts only require you to push the shifter forward. You don't need stiff motor mounts for it either and it retains the stock OEM shifter assembly.

I actually just installed this today on my 91 b swap crx si with the type r transmission I’m really excited to drive with it, I have it mount the same way but I recommend riv nuts to install it

I feel like that slack is inherit with anything with softer engine/torque mounts
My stock ej6 has this issue (keep in mind it could use mounts)
If you were to use the lockout and flip the mounting to behind it, it would lock out 1st and 2nd so that when racing you won’t go to 1st from 2nd. So you’d have to use the button to shift from 1st to 2nd and then to shift to third just shift. The lockout would keep you from going 1-2-1
And 2nd would be locked out so you don’t go from 3rd to 2nd.

the 92-95eg 94-01dc and 96-00 ek firewalls and tunnels/floors plus and minus structure brace's on acura/honda are all the same stamp for the usdm market,... minus the delsol theres almost enough room in the tunnel for a 4l80

I think thats a cool shifter, but it sounds like IRP is pulling some slick shit.. I guess if they dropped the price for B or D series Honda orders, all the BMW guys would pick up on the loophole... I can't afford it anyway, Lol
I think though reverse lock is just like the vw you have to push the shifter down to go in reverse
yea...I said fuck it, and placed my order last night, I was gonna get the ktuned, then your video of the install popped up, and pretty much had my mind made up after watching it, whether or not the reverse worked, since I want something short throw, but tall, with as little to no slop as possible, and it eliminates the stabilizer bar..
and yea, I don't think any shifter should be that much, but oh well, something different I guess

I am totally fine with 5th being locked out with reverse because I am drag racing my car . I’d rather just shoot for 3rd without having to aim between 1st and 5th .
5th gear is the gear that I’ll be in least of 1st-5th . Only to cruise , other than that I’m shifting through 1st-4th driving through the street . Pressing a button is fine with me . I’m sold on the shifter .

take out the reverse lock out button and make it so you can put your own shift knob on it and a better rubber gromit to fit any of the honda tunnels so you don't get wind or heat and it will be perfect.
on their site they did use the factory grommet, and just slid the bottom of the shifter through it like you would a normal shifter, and its completely closed on the eg pictured

Are you going to compare/review the spoon calipers with the wilwood calipers and the stock nissin calipers?
bryan larrea wils are aiight i personally believe spoon is better for its a nisin honda upgrade and lighter than stock with a better bite.
first thing i thought when you said you need "solid motor mounts" I thought you meant mounts with no bushings as in solid metal mounts. Turns out you where talking about urethane mounts.
8:39 Reverse button, I know it.! Becouse when You push it, you here that sound when metal touch metal, and when You drive that button moves, and have that sound.
V2 Self Centring shifter dosnt have that problem, and some other problems, who have basis V2 Shifter.!

@@99b9d729b8 YEs it is a must to have mounts, or it will block you. I also use the Jack Spania EK mount kit.

Anyone tried it on b series del sol?
Besides b and ds i dont know any other rod style transmissions so the reverse lock out theory is a bust man. Race cars only usully use 1 to 4 atleast on drag so to stop 5th even reverse is the only thing its intended for. Im sure if they can do no slop they designed and released it as a working button. Just need tweaking

Stock shifter with aftermarket bushings would of been the best for daily driving.That was a waste of 500 dollars.

This shifter sucks… I bought mine and it lasted 4 months till it broke from the shift linkage…. I have solid mounts on the engine and it still broke do not recommend 🚮
