For those wondering, these are actually Real pearls. I bought some to test them and they are in fact real. However it’s Important to know that these are “Cultured” pearls, which means they are oysters that where farmed instead of found randomly in the ocean. You can look up the process online yourself. Basically in the wild it’s super rare for an oyster to make a pearl. They make one only when a tiny bead gets stuck in them and the irritation process over time forms a pear inside of them. The color of that bead plays a major role in the color of the pear. That’s why pears from oysters in parts of the world may be white based on the materials in the waters where those oysters are located. Now the process these farmed do to make pearls is simple. They take oysters and insert a bead of a specific color inside of the oyster. This bead is incredibly tiny just like one that would naturally enter an oyster in the wild (keep in mind it’s very rare for this to happen in the wild, that’s why natural pears are so valuable). Because of the fact that the farmed oysters are implanted with beads, they are almost guaranteed to make a pearl over time. But how do you know the color of the pearls before hand and the size and how do you get such crazy colors? Simple actually.. you get (for example) 10 oysters, insert a natural bead (not sure what these farmers use as they keep it secret) of a crazy color that you never see in the wild (except in 1 every 1 million in nature), then after you did that to the 10 oysters all with the same color bead inside of them. You put them all in a tank labeled with the color and the date of implantation. Wait a few months and then take them out. Then you now have 10 oysters who have made 10 pearls all the same crazy color that you selected. Here’s why these are so cheap. Most of the time the reason why the ones you see opened are so cheap (like $1 or less pear oyster) is because yes, the oysters have previously been opened and the pearls have been inspected. Even tho these oysters where manually given the bead, the pearls are created by the oyster just like they would have in the wild. The pearls are in fact REAL, but just because they’re real doesn’t mean they’re valuable. Keep in mind, most pearls in the wild just like in farms, will come out misshaped, ugly or not brilliant enough to be worth putting on an expensive necklace. Farmers would usually open a ton of these farmed oysters and find maybe 1 good pearl per 50 farmed oysters. They would throw the ugly ones away... but they realized they could make more money if they simply opened the oyster gently, pulled out the pearl and inspected it and if it was “worthless” they would simply place it back into the oyster then vacuum seal the oyster with preservatives after it had closed and sell it to Americans as a fun “gimmick”. Normally those pearls would be trashed and it wasn’t in the pearl farms best interest to sell 100 pearls (without oysters) for $2 and end up flooding the market with tons of crap pearls. If pearls become too common they become worthless to the eye of the consumer. However you could stick the pearl back into the oyster and pass it off as a mystery find and sell that 1 oyster with a crappy pearl for $1 rather then sell 100 crappy pearls for $3 or simply make more money then you would if you just threw all the junk pearls away. The point is this. These are REAL pearls! They are made inside the oyster just like natural pearls. The initial process is done by a person instead of random and rare. The bead is hand picked so the rarity of the color is not my luck and so the super rare red pearl which would be 1 in a million is now 1 in 3 which kills the interest for consumers. Because in the end pearls are just oyster tumors that serve no purpose in nature. We humans simply like them because they’re cool and shiny. Just like how we spend thousand on diamonds even tho we can make them artificially in factories. Or how we pay $3000 for a Gucci bag when the same quality bag can be bought for under $100 from a no name brand. We value things based on our perception not reality. Clearly people think these are cool and they’ll keep buying and having fun. Because they are fun. Not all the pearls in these oysters are cheap too. Some are good quality like the ones in this video. That’s why these pearls go for $20-$40 each. So for all those complaining that these are fake pearls. Take the time to do some research and go deep into the science instead of just reading sponsored articles or done comments. Except for this comment, because this comment is the 1 good comment in a million. I just spent 17 minutes of my life explaining this so good night!
Also FYI I know a lot about the process of farming oysters for pearls because it was a topic in a bio lecture about artificial animal farming blah blah blah. Important to note that most of the time farmers will keep the good quality pearls for themselves to sell at top dollar prices and for the pearls that are ugly they just reseal the oysters and sell them off for pearl parties. However you can still find high quality oysters with pearls for sale. Some farmers find they can make more money from 1 good pearl (like the ones in this video) if they insert the pearl back into the oyster and sell it for $20-$50 per oyster. Here’s the reason why they do that: as you can see by the tons of people with uniformed comments in this video. Most people would see these brightly colored pearls and install assume they’re face. And obviously they would as there’s no way a pearl like that could be so cheap if it was natural. Most people don’t understand the farming process or the value difference from a salt water naturally found pearl rather than a mass produced artificially inseminated farmed oyster pearl. So the smart farmers simply said “let’s just sell them the pearl with the oyster it came in, that way they know it’s real”. In fact doing this worked! And the pearls are actually real pears, they’re just farmed & lower quality (depending on the one you buy, but most are low quality for the low price) as well as much much much lower value. In the end it’s up to you the consumer. Do you want to have a necklace with a pearl from an oyster that was found in the ocean and took thousand of oysters to find. Or do you want one that came from a farm and was pushed to create a pear. They’re both real pearls. They’re both made inside the oyster the same way except for the fact that the environment is different for farmed oysters. I personally would care because unless you have a pearl with a wild color. People can’t really tell the difference from a farmed pear rather then a natural pear. Unless if the necklace they’re hanging from is from a we’ll know brand like Majorca which only sells natural high quality pearls. It’s all up to the consumer to make the choice if they deem in valuable or not. Personally I don’t wear pears as I’m a dude. But my girlfriend & mother love them. And I enjoy smashing the oysters into bits and pulling the random pearls out of their guts. It’s mysterious and fun in a strange way. Also it’s very addictive and it’s the only way I can actually get any joy from getting my girlfriend a type of jewelry. Plus it’s fun for the whole family and you can always order a fancy oyster like the Edison’s in this video. Keep in mind that the farms who farmed the oysters shown in this video opened the oysters before the oyster died prior to packaging and checked that the pearl was good quality and marked down its color. Then they re-inserted it, waited for the oyster to close itself and then they sealed the oyster in an air tight wrap with some preservative chemical which would keep the now dead oyster nice and scentless until it was opened by a person.
pear
That was so informative , THANK YOU !!!
FireRockerzstudios COOL COOL COOL COOL
FireRockerzstudios very fascinating I purchased some oysters before watching this but I might look into purchasing some farmed oysters
These arent akoya pearls, they're fresh water pearls that have been dyed. It's very clear that a cut has been made to place the pearl there. If you want a akoya pearl supplier get a japanese one. These mlms buy from china.
They are real but they are dyed and then put into another dead oyster. And you buy these corpses for like a 1 on amazon.
Real, just dyed and put into the oyster. Look at the mother of pearl, the shell inside what whatever shades pf colour you see is what colour of pearls that oyster can produce
You could really see the dye inside the oyster with the first shell she opened after the Edisons
I got 2 ads within the first 4 minutes you must have made good money off this but you deserve it good luck with your pearls
Let’s play a game. Take a shot every time she says “Edison”.
Speed running alcohol poisoning 💀
to see if they're real rub them against your teeth. If it feels grainy like sand it's real.
That is correct!
Thing is...they’re all real but they’ve been injected with dyes etc. Pearls that would be natural in those sizes and colours would be worth a fortune. But, you would never get those colours naturally. In that sense, yes they’re fake then.
Maddie, how much are your oysters and are they still available to buy?
How do you know what colors they are before you open them... Wow that blue one is big...
I'm going to order my grandma some pearls for mothers day!
Grandma's always love pearls!

The huge ones are GORGEOUS is there a ring that I can put them in and wear as jewelery? If not there should be!
I do have a ring mount that is perfect for the Edisons! I'll put it on my store tomorrow.
what do you do with the leftover meat? is it good to eat?
It goes in the trash. You definitely don't want to eat these oysters!
What a damn waste.
Maddie's Pearls How come you can’t eat them?
Metaphor’s Something I think because they are like soaked in something to kill them or something like that. I’m not positive but that’s what I think.
Some soak them in a alcohol solution to euthanize the oyster inside :) not sure if everyone does it this way
Is blue pearl❗️
Good. :)
The wine red is my favorite
My Edison opened so easily
That's good to hear! Sometimes they can be really hard! Not sure why as it is only with the Edisons!

There so big
*faints* soooo beautifullllll
Hi, I recently opening up something called a Love Pearl necklace where you open the oysters and there’s a pearl inside. Do you know if those pearls are actually real? I can believe that they are cultured because there’s a promise that every oyster has a pearl in it.
Alex Santoro they are real then just farmed, meaning someone made the oysters make a Pearl, but to make sure just rub it on your teeth if it’s a sandpaper texture then congratulationsits real.
I have 3 of them. But one oyster was empty. It was so frustrating because it took forever to open, the tool is useless. I just pressed the other two on the counter and they opened immediately.
where can I order the oysters?
Laura Neudel-Freynik her etsy page
thank you
Hi Laura! You can order your own oysters from etsy.com/shop/MaddiesPearls
Do yourself a favor and don’t
The first Edison was indigo blue not electric blue
Where can I buy this and try finding Pearls myself ?
Those are beautiful can you tell me where to buy them from
Hi Ronda! You can buy your own oysters & pearls from etsy.com/shop/MaddiesPearls
I want to do what you are doing. Any tips, or ideas? Im a single mom and in need of a new job or a side job. Really struggling but motivated. In my tiny town theres very few options, but ive I've been indulging in these videos and would love to work doing what i love to do! If you can help me or point me in the right direction, I'd be forever grateful. More so than you know
You would need to do a little research on hosting a pearl party but it's not too terribly hard. There are tons of pearl party companies you can join but they take around 80% of your earnings which is why a lot of pearl party ladies order from me because I am a supplier so they get to keep 100% of their profits instead of giving most of them away.
Most of it is multi level marketing which is a baaaaad thing to get in to ..
How do you know that they are huge before you even open them? In this staged??
I order them from my farmer by color/size/etc. I know what is in each one before I open them.
Maddie's Pearls but I’m not sure how you could know if they are closed shut? Yeah maybe by X-ray you an get a size cut colour?
Maddie's Pearls Do you allow customers to order their pearls by color and size? I'd like to order for my daughter for her pendant she has. But it has to be a medium/small one. And her favorite color is red. I have yet to find her a darn red one. Lol
Maddie's Pearls I'd like to order it unopened and keep it hush. (Let her just think she finally got a red one Haha ha)
Maddie's Pearls ahhhhh I just got to the part of the video where you say you have never found a true red AHHHHH LOL! Why are they so hard to find lol
I thought pearls was just fairy tales 😭💔
scam
