I’ve always wanted to do this! I’m so excited to have discovered this is a thing! I’ve purchased one from one of those pearl places many years ago! I never enjoyed it because they don’t allow you to open your own oyster! Fun wreckers 🙁. I’m going to be obsessed with my first purchase! 🤗
I'm totally obsessed too! As many as I have opened, you would think that the excitement would go away after a while but it doesn't! I love shucking!! :)

From what I read, when they put the bead to start the pearl, they inject some colored dye and the oyster uses that to make the pearl.

They’re still natural pearls, the oyster made them, just when they opened the oyster to put the bead in, they put a little dye, which the oyster uses to make the pearl.

Ppl are wrong!.. it's true that they are not NATURAL colors... But the Pearl still grows in the oyster... It's cultured which means they opened them up without killing them injected the dye n let them do their thing

I order my oysters directly from the farmers but you have to have a federal import license to do so. When you order from me, you don't need a license as I have already legally imported the oysters.
Are your oysters supplied by Vantel?
Carol Stowell No, definitely not. Pearl companies like that are no good.
I order directly from China. You have to have an import permit with FWS to do so.

I wear my necklace at work which is a Tanning Salon and I noticed that one of my Blue pearls lost its color from the UV light so I am NOT doing that anymore
As long as you don't open the vacuum sealed package they can store for a while :) No need to refrigerate them or anything like that.

They are dyed! So it is actually popular to get different colored twins, its more rare to get twins of the same color! Now natural pearls that arent dyed yes it is very rare to get different colors! I do a live facebook show opening oysters! :)
