    I admire your patience about your time and stay calm attitude in the clinic situation you gone through to share it. As for me such similar situation and condition had happened to me over here in my own country when I had visited the Bank branch. I could not control my anger and patience. When I had missed my queue nos. I approached one of the bank counter staff with anger and quite bad attitude to speak up loudly with the staff to let other customers hear and know my situation there that my queue nos was not called up to let me know when I had missed it, but other queue nos was been called. I hope your favorite coffee candy did not have high sugar content very sweet taste and not affected your health condition especially for your teeth, it is always better to avoid sweet snacks/stuffs with more than 8 or 10 gm can be seen and check on the labels on it, for your better health, take care.

    Dear Ling noi, what good ideas you are giving. First, the story with the Russian guy in my age. You only pay for a home stay in rural Thailand, coming back with a bunch of children without having to work on the Mama before. How genial! As for the patience I remember a wisdom of old Chinese Confucius: If you want to get a pretty nurse you have to be patient. 😅. Bye, see you soon again, K

    Here’s the problem about clothes I’ve recently discovered. They don’t make size for western size. Asian large is a farang small. And pants only seem to come in a 32 inch inseam. Went to multiple malls multiple stores both high end and low end. Everything 32 inch. Nothing else.

    • @rocketman1828
      @rocketman1828 День назад +2

      In-seams not a problem. Plenty of ladies have sewing shops that will hem your pants for 80 baht or less. As far as shirts and T=shirts plenty of places sell up to 4 XL or more. I have noticed T-shirts do shrink when dried in a electric dryers so take that into consideration. Clothes are fairly cheap so don't over pack.

    I must agree to having patience in Thailand 🇹🇭. I sent myself money through western union, I had my passport. The ccashier didn't give me money because my middle name wasn't on the paperwork. I had to cancel the order, do another order with my middle name. If front of her. The sender name is the same as the passport. I was frustrated.

    interesting as always! about motorbikes, I've always heard that it's super dangerous to drive a motorbike in Thailand..but I think it's exaggerated! it's maybe dangerous in some areas of Bangkok and the other big cities. but in the country side where there is not much traffic, of course it can't be that dangerous!
    sorry about your food poisoning in the Philippines. I have been food poisoned in Bangkok a few times..for example from one of those juice presses on the street where they sell freshly squeezed orange juice. I guess they don't clean those juice presses very often...I lost 6 kg in 24 hours and it was really bad. 🤢but I got better after about 1½ days. but I will never drink from those orange juice street vendors again 😵‍💫I am much more careful now 😇
    about the Thai holidays, yeah I remember going from Bkk to Hua Hin during a Thai holiday..had to wait at Mo Chit terminal all night, the terminal was jam-packed and I arrived at my hotel in Hua Hin at 3 am in the morning 😆avoid the holidays! still love Thailand though😅

      Thanks for sharing your experiences! 😊 You’re right about motorbikes, it’s much safer in the countryside compared to big cities like Bangkok. As for food poisoning, losing 6 kg in 24 hours sounds awful! 😵‍💫 Glad you recovered quickly. And yes, Thai holidays are wild! 😂

    I have yet to meet a Thai person that was not welcoming and kind. they truly are spiritual and family oriented. as a foreigner, and new to Bangkok, I feel like an outsider looking in at times. but occasionally I get a glimpse of what with Thai society is like on a close personal basis. and needless to say I love it here.
    if you're coming for a holiday then yeah don't bring too much. if you're coming to stay permanently don't bring anything that doesn't work here. I got rid of quite a lot of things before making the move and while I had to replace some of those things here, they work with the voltage. however I am a big guy, 188 cm and 87 kg, size 12 shoe😅 not easy to find clothing here for me but not impossible either.
    having some kind of travel insurance is good to have and if you live here permanently is necessary but expensive as you get older and unfortunately there are no laws that govern pre-existing conditions. and so if you have any they will not cover those. for instance I have seasonal allergies and they will not cover anything related to that. well that's not a big deal other things like high blood pressure could be.. and of course as you get older it gets more and more expensive. some just self-insure it, and if you have a couple million baht that you can set aside for just that it might be a better choice. for now though I do have health insurance both in the US and in Thailand.
    Patience, and a sweet smile will go a long way here in Thailand.
    khob khun khrup palm.

    One suggestion regarding scooter or car rental......if you haven't been to Thailand before and haven't driven in countries where you drive on the left side of the road, it might be a good idea to take taxis (scooter or car) for the first few ventures in the city. Traffic "laws" are more like guidelines in Thailand, and it can get pretty crazy during busy times. Once you have acclimated, it's not too bad, but I regularly see foreigners having trouble negotiating heavy traffic.

    Driving in Thailand is quite easy, once you start to think with a Thai mindset. If a open-back 4x4 is laden with fruit and driving slowly it's liable to turn left or right or do a U-turn just when you don't think anyone would regardless of the road nor any road signs visible. You might read endless notes on driving in Thailand but as a non-Thai you are most likely to drive into the back of another car or fail to understand why so many severed branches appear on the carriage way. 🚙

    • @ThaiThoughts
      @ThaiThoughts  День назад +2

      Haha, so true! Once you embrace the Thai mindset, driving becomes a bit more understandable. Those sudden turns and unexpected moves can definitely catch you off guard if you're not used to it. Thanks for sharing your perspective! 🚙

    Insurance - If you are coming to Thailand for a vacation, get travel insurance. If you are moving here to live, be really careful on the policy. If you have pre-existing conditions like high cholesterol and hypertension, and you have a heart attack, the insurance will not cover it. I self insure myself.

      Thanks so much for the support and kind words! 😊 I appreciate you rocking with me! For a rural area near the action, If you love nature, Pai or Lampang are perfect choices. If you're more into beaches, then Hua Hin is a great option. They're peaceful but still within reach of bigger cities by taxi or motorbike. It really depends on what you're looking for!
