As Turkish-American i'm so proud of this company made it to the states and be liked for quite few years now. I've got all series of Canik since the start and now i'm ordering this one to add to my Collection. probably gonna be my daily carry now. i'd also check out Sarsilmaz arms. TISAS And Girsan these companies makes exotic and reliable pistols and shotguns at very very reasonable prices. Note: True pronunciation of canik is JOHN-NICK jUST SAY IT FAST. THANKS FOR THE VIDEO MATE. EXCELLENT DEMO.
all of the Turkish guns coming in are great value for money. so far in my experience canik makes the highest quality of the three, my tisas 1911 had an asymmetrical slide and though it functioned perfectly it bugged me and my OCD so badly I had to sell it to a friend who didn't care lol
Kudos to Canik for making such an outstanding sub compact at a great price. I have it's big brother Elite and love it. It was very interesting watching the different grain bullets being tested. I don't recall another reviewer doing that. A thumbs up review.
That is a nice pistol, glad they finally came out with the subcompact model. All of these companies are killing my finances, lol. I need to get a pay raise to pay for some of these firearms. Cheers!!
Thanks for the thorough, thoughtful and clear presentation! I was very interested to see how the Elite SC handled the wide variety of ammo. I have the TP9 SFx. I first tried Federal Champion 115 gr with it, but had a lot of failures to feed, c. one per every five rounds. Folks in the Facebook Canik Fanatics group told me that the gun was designed for use with NATO spec 124 gr ammo. So I got Ruag -- Swiss Army Issue -- 124 gr, and it cycled perfectly. Later I tried Red Army Standard Elite 124 gr (brass case FMJ), which had just a few failures to eject. The only other ammo I've tried is Underwood's Xtreme Defender 90 grain +P (nickel plated brass case), which cycled perfectly.
I have two of these and is my more EDC than anything else. I will be moving to carrying the red dot version than iron sights. But I its a joy to shoot.
I LOVE your reviews, Graham, and seek them out all the time...and I'm a subscriber. I shot a friend's TP9 SF Elite, and loved it. I own a Smith And Wesson M&P 2.0 Compact.. these are Glock 19 sized guns as many of you know. I'm left handed, The Glocks are just not lefty friendly at all and no, I don't like the Gen 5's either ... and even my Smith, leaves something to be desired with the ridiculous, nearly impossible slide release to be engaged on the right side of the gun with my left thumb. I can shoot it and operate the controls fine, but it would be nice to have what the Caniks have- Ambi controls. After shooting the 4" Elite, I bought this SC for concealed carry. My friend that owns the 4" Elite, shot my SC, and immediately went out and bought one. I only have one issue with this gun- and it's NOT the gun's fault- the sights- especially the front one- is hard to see with my glasses for everyday wear. The front sight is positioned right in the null zone where I need my reading/ short field glasses, which I seriously doubt any assailant would allow me to switch to so I could shoot them more accurately. I think it's time for a new eyeglass prescription. P.S., I think these Caniks are the absolute best firearm for the price in The World.
They are great guns. If you're a lefty have you taken a look at Grand Power? All controls are completely ambi (not ambi-capable where you have to swap them). Slide, mag, and safety/decocker on both sides of the gun, every gun.
@@GBGuns Those really look like nice guns. I do not have any dealers around here in Reno that stock them. Love this review. I shot mine today for the first time. I also had 3 failures to go into battery. About 100 rounds. It did shoot very well. As good and accurate as any other of my sub compact guns. Maybe even a little better. I love it.

Been waiting for this one, thanks for posting. Shot our new one with my son on Saturday. Agreed the 15, 18 and 20 round compatibility works as long as you respect the tap insert. Less is more. As always thanks G!
Thank you and welcome to the channel. If you like this format it's more or less how we've reviewed hundreds of guns. The format has evolved over the years, but I like to think it gives a fair and honest impression of a firearm.
Great review! My favorite thing that you always do is the "what's for dinner" segment! I was pleased that this little beast was hungry for about any kind of ammo!!
With my Sig Romeo Zero on my Canik tp9 elite sc I can knock the wings off of a housefly from 25 yards. I am shooting a one inch group with many keyholes from a 15 round mag without a stray in the bunch.
I love mine. Trigger is amazing. For what you get with the gun as opposed to price, you can't beat it. I have a Sig Romeo Zero on mine and it is deadly accurate.
Hearing her say it was hard to see the rear sights makes me wonder why they wouldn't put anything on the rear.. What's the reason? Upgrading the rear sight sounds like it would be a must in darker situations like this.
Lol the first 1:15 of this video has been my exact experience with my TP9SF...its hard to miss and makes you feel really confident to take shots I normally wouldn't. We were shooting out to 100 yards the other day with mine at the rifle range at a small 4"x4" metal plate on top of the target stand post. Took a full mag but hit it twice...first time spun it a little second shot knocked it off. Excellent handgun for around the $300 mark. Going to be adding this SC to my collection at some point.
Been debating on which gun to buy. I had a glock 19 gen 5, tricked it out but honeslty didnt like the fact that i had to buy a trigger and new iron sights. This Canik looks really nice and is very affordable. So im at a crossroads between the Canik TP9 Elite SC or the FN 509c.
You can tell you made this a year ago because you might not be cycling through some of those ammo types today. I have been trying to keep my supply intact so haven't had the chance to take the TP9SC elite out to the range that I bought a couple of months back. Everyone seems to really like the trigger on this gun. Looking forward to some range time with it.
No more Maddy or BB? Not sure if I'm going get the TP9 Elite SC. I haven't bought one since I got my 1st gen SA. Was expecting it to be smaller than it is. That trigger looks nice, though.

Very cool! Thanks for the video. Did you use the holster that came with the gun? Would it be mainly for going to the range or good enough use on a daily carry basis?
It ate everything and the magazines dropped free when empty don't need another subcompact but l really like this one in a other review the magazines did not drop free for a tactical magazine drop and reload would not like that if you purchase try before you buy and make sure just to save you some headaches of shipping to manufacture for a replacement or repaired l like that magtech 95 grain ammo the price is right and it penetrates well it's not the best carry ammo but in a pinch it could be used for conceal carry when over penetration is not a concern you can afford to practice with it without going broke let's face it these manufacturers making carry ammo 20 dollars for 20 rounds is not nothing you will be practicing with to check reliability of feeding and ejection l like to feed a hundred rounds of the ammo I'm going to use for carry not wanting to find a problem in a bad situation just me l have been using federal 115 grain jhp xm9001 and magtech 95 grain jsp in all my 9mm carry guns for years they feed fire and eject with no issues and can be bought for 16-18 dollars for 50 round box this way l can buy 4 boxes at a time or 200 rounds for 70 dollars or less just can't afford 60 rounds for 60 dollars yes it maybe better ammo but not that much better to justify the price difference l like corbon urban response +P 100 grain in 50 round boxes but its 30 dollars a box and it can't be found anymore if cost is not a concern l think it maybe the best round in 9mm when it was available
Love your channel Graham!! Was just wandering where is Burgandy Bomber and Maddy is? Like their views and opinions on the guns that you review. Helps me make decisions on what guns to purchase for my wife and daughter. Take care!!:)
Just got one of these about a week ago. Very first shot fired did a failure to eject. Second mag through it the slide didn't lock back after the last round. Ran perfectly after that. Shot a whole box of 100 rounds 115 grain fmj from Winchester. Hopefully those minor problems were just due to beaking in a new handgun. Still gotta keep shooting it though to find out
I turn 21 on July 20th here in Alaska we don't need a permit ot license to buy a pistol you don't even have to be 21 to own a pistol someone who is 21 could buy a 18 year old a pistol but legally that 18 year old has to open carry but 21 you can conceal carry I'm thinking about this gun maybe the sfx if anyone has any other recommendations I'm all ears but I am so excited to own my own gun
My next gun. I almost bought a TP9SF Elite one... glad I waited. Translation: Glad I didn't quite have the funds. So, any idea what these will be priced at at local gun shops? Can these be ordered with a lefty holster?
I am pretty sure the holster it comes with will work left or right. It is a bisexual holster iwb or owb so when you move the holster body you will just swap the belt clips. In other words if I have it set as an iwb right hand and put it on my left it will be an owb and vise versa. One note it does have a slight right hand curve but i think a hair dryer or heat gun will fix that they are pretty flexible.
Nice review thank you for your effort. I have personel question. Which brand do you prefer canik or stoeger? I know they are different type of guns but which brands better for material quality?
Glocks don't have an issue with over-insertion. Glock magazines have an over-insertion stop on the left side of the magazine body at the top. Glocks don't rely on the base plate as a stop.
Canik is called a Glock killer for a reason. Glock has a shitty trigger and shitty grip angle. So enjoy one advantage if you want to. Have seen many sell their Glocks to buy a Canik but not the other way around.
On mine all the mags (18, 15, 12) drop free however the 12 hits my palm and doesn’t quite drop free just like on Shields, G26 +2, or PPS 7 rounders. They all do that when they’re short if that helps.
No problem, plus that stuff's expensive (we're not a pay-for-play channel) and can you imagine how LONG the videos would be if we did a full mag of every round type?!
@@GBGuns Yeah, agree with you. Plus, I think the real point is that you *are* getting enough ammo through it to, at least, adequately demonstrate 'said firearms' reliability... Thanks agan!
Sure, all my three didn’t drop free...the V2, SF and SF Elite. All I did was take some 320 grit sandpaper to the inside of the grip, particularly on the rail(s) and in just a few minutes it’s cured, real simple fix. I just picked up a new DA in bronze a week ago and figured it would be the same and nope, they drop free just fine finally. I just ordered this SC today and I’m interested to see if they’ll drop free as well but if not I don’t care, I know how to remedy that real quick.
It depends on your definition of too light for carry. Some people are comfortable with a 3lb competition trigger, others want a 12lb DAO style trigger. If this is anything like my TP9SF, it would be ok, especially with a trigger safety blade, in a holster with full trigger guard coverage. That said, to each their own with your own carry gun.
Boycott Canik, or anything else made in Turkey The Canik has its roots in Turkey, where these guns are made. They were adopted by the Turkish Police Force in 2013, and they are imported into the United States through Century Arms out of Florida. Canik is the trademark of pistols manufactured by Samsun Domestic Defense and Industry Corporation, a subsidiary of Aral Industry Corporation. The company was established in 1997 and is located in Samsun, Turkey.
I just bought one of these. It's a great gun. Why would I deny myself a gun that works well & doesn't cost an arm & a leg. Who cares about Turkey's politics/policies.
@Frank Bonazza III Oh, Frank. You are sooo WRONG. Google it yourself, and this is what you'll get: The town of Georgia, Vt., is the manufacturing and warehouse hub of Century International Arms, headquartered in Florida. Canik may make a good gun, but if Turkey is your idea of an ally, NATO or not, then I sure hope you are not in our military. As for your assumptions about my phone, WRONG again. I don't own a mobile phone. Old fashioned land line here (Panasonic). Again, I say: Boycott Canik, or anything else made in Turkey

Excellent
Thanks Graham ! I always refer to great results as ( GP CP380 7 yard results)
Well done review 👍
Can't wait to pick one up.
Do you all plan on shooting again with the red dot on it?
I don't have one of the right footprint.
Did the flush fit mag drop free?
On mine all the mags (18, 15, 12) drop free however the 12 hits my palm and doesn’t quite drop free just like on Shields, G26 +2, or PPS 7 rounders. They all do that when they’re short if that helps.
D M yep thank you!
Ohhhhhhh, thaaaats why you only do three rounds in the 'Whats for dinner' segment... Thanks for explaining it... My bad!
En iyi atışları bu silahla yaptınız 👏👏👏
I really like how it feels but that trigger has alot of pre travel. only thing I dont like
On a carry gun that's a safety advantage.
@@GBGuns for some...
Süper silah ...daha ne olsun....
Wow very nice pistol
This or the hellcat? 🤔
This...
Kevin bond you this so? What the selling point for you?
@@awakenmutant it's prolly based on the Walther PPQ SC which is a helluva gun with an awesome trigger. Plus it's gonna be much cheaper.
Kevin bond I was debating selling my archon type b FDE for a conceal carry but idk I like my archon
This for sure
Anybody else having trouble with their mags not dropping?
Sure, all my three didn’t drop free...the V2, SF and SF Elite. All I did was take some 320 grit sandpaper to the inside of the grip, particularly on the rail(s) and in just a few minutes it’s cured, real simple fix.
I just picked up a new DA in bronze a week ago and figured it would be the same and nope, they drop free just fine finally.
I just ordered this SC today and I’m interested to see if they’ll drop free as well but if not I don’t care, I know how to remedy that real quick.
D M thanks, ill try that. Besides that, the gun is amazing and has an awesome trigger.

Sure thing, glad to help and it should fix your issue in a jiffy, take care bud.
Canik are more accurate than the Glock..just admit it :D...cheaper, more accessories in the box..have an approval from tha Nato..and it look sexy 😉
The striker system looks like a ppq cloan..
Walther clone in general. A lot of P99 and PPQ on the TP9 line
@@marcchambers3697 never shot the p99, i heard it was a good gun..
👍👍👍👍👍😎
I love caniks. It's in rotation with my Sig p320c for my edc🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯💯🦾🦾🦾🦾
kanik değ,l canik düzgün söyle

Trigger is to light for carry
Too light for you? Then dont carry it simple.
It depends on your definition of too light for carry. Some people are comfortable with a 3lb competition trigger, others want a 12lb DAO style trigger. If this is anything like my TP9SF, it would be ok, especially with a trigger safety blade, in a holster with full trigger guard coverage. That said, to each their own with your own carry gun.
you must be a newbie...
Canik Lol trigger👍
Boycott Canik, or anything else made in Turkey
The Canik has its roots in Turkey, where these guns are made.
So boycott them because they were made in Turkey? Its 2019 get your head out your ass and get back in the game
Boo
Canik Excelent gun 100%👍
Again, I say:
Boycott Canik, or anything else made in Turkey
