    With respect to the pauldrons; adaptive layering should help with the ridginess at the top. I'll have to keep it in mind when I slice mine.

    Imagine doing this in pepakura, where you needed to fiber glass in, sand it, then bondo it , then sand again, then bondo and sand one more time. I hated my life when I was doing that

    Out of curiosity do you think the armor could be printed in ABS instead of PLA, and if it can do you think your fiberglass and bondo methods would work as well?

    Unfortunately, they don't (currently) sell Bondo Fiberglass Resin in my country or europe, so can you recommend something similar?

      plastic wood filler is a really good alternative and even better in my opinion as it far easier to sand and takes less time to set. fillers like plastic wood-x by dap is the one I have used on some of my armor and was really is to use. I thinned out the filler with a bit of water and basically painted it onto the print and then hit it with filler primer and was in some parts better than when i used the bondo. hope this helps!

    Do you still use the bondo fiberglass resin? or is the 3d print resin the go to?

  • @cysion9993

    Would it be possible to do this with bondo spot putty?

    • @Randomguy-fz6nb
      @Randomguy-fz6nb 3 года назад

      im assuming it could, since all the resin does is fill in the ridge lines, but it would probably take at least twice as long

    Could you just have made the walls of the print thicker and just sanded the material without any resin?

    If you used like 400 or 500 grit sandpaper for all of it would that work ok?

    • @noahsteiner5052
      @noahsteiner5052 4 года назад +1

      yeah but it would take forever. It would take month to do it with that high grit. Just get some lower grit at home depot their like 5 dollars a pack.
