Logan the 6.4 is a trash can on wheels🛞 The 6.7 is gonna be way better but I’m also a Dodge or Duramax fan so really go check out some other trucks stay away from that 6.4!
Yeah, my son has one he has the 450 with the same engine. It's blowed three times now it's just a farm truck. I'd stay away but that's my personal opinion you do what
2012 6.2L Chevy to 2018 duramax denali. I'll never own a gas pickup again. The diesel drives so much better down the road on long road trips. Better fuel milage as well especially if you're pulling anything.
Same! Everyone warned me about them but I bought one anyways years ago. It was tuned and deleted and made 600HP to the wheels but man that thing was issue after issue. I got rid of it after like 7 months of owning it 😂
@@steventurner83 just about everyone that has owned one can relate. I loved the lariat interior and when it ran great I loved it but it emptied the pockets that’s for sure. Mine was having issues where it would randomly throw a turbo code and I couldn’t spool and I would throw out black some like a freight train and no shop could figure it out. I went to a tundra and now an 06 Cummins and I loved both. I just wish the tundra got better fuel mileage and could tow a little more!
I bought a 08 last year with 167000 and I like it. No def! I bought the extended warranty just in case. King ranch model. My second smoker. Other was a 2001 Cummings. That truck is now my daughters and it’s humming along with 300.000 miles. It’s louder than the 08.
Do NOT, I repeat, do not buy a 6.4l. As a professional technician, I can tell you, you will dump a lot of $$$ into that thing if you're wanting another 100k miles out of it. The 6.7 has a lot of miles on it as well. I'd stick with gas unless you absolutely need to pull that heavy trailer at times.
The 6.4 has a lower front end cost but when I does it's thing it will double, the 6.7 is way more reliable. Most warranties won't cover ANY THING if the truck is modified.(exhaust delete).
I agree with the others 7.3 or 6.7 for power stroke, and STAY AWAY from anything that has been chipped. The tranny becomes the weak link. My daily driver is a’95 F350 7.3 crew cab 4x4 260,000 miles. 👍🏻
Don’t do the 6.4. If you do just be prepared to get new injectors when the fuel pump takes a crap. Usually happens on average around 160k miles. Be about $10k to fix it. 6.7 is way better.
Wouldn’t touch either of those trucks if they are using wood screws to hold the tonno down then I’m sure there’s worse issues than that. The 6.4 is junk you’ll dump more money into it than it’s worth….
08 6.4 350 lariat owner here. make sure it’s deleted, had been taken care of and they are good trucks. Just have to keep fresh fluids in them and they’ll run with the best of them. Just keep it out of race tune and treat it like a truck and not a race car.
Nice Work on the Beard Eric , You've come far !!! Its become a routine to check your channel , been a few Years Now , You've Come Far an the Day Aint Done !!! Thanks !!!
Not a bad truck if it's bulletproof. I don't remember exactly what that entails for that engine, but both the 6.0 and 6.4 are good if they're bulletproofed.
Don't do it unless you can afford to replace the transmission. The 6.7 might be a better option. Spend your money on a good diesel mechanic to go over a truck before you buy.. Warning if they don't want you to red flag sign. Buying a used truck is like rolling dice. Beware of trucks a set up to tow. Towing equipment is relatively easy to add on.
Not hating. But don’t do it logi 😜. Yo Matt I was thinking about trying those mini mags bud.. let me know what you think about them. I myself had good luck with the 3 blade pro series from grim reaper. 🤙🏽
Logan, look for a 2004 7.3L, they were much better engines. Especially with a long bed, the 6.4 is dog, IMO. The Dodges are the best diesels with the Cummins, but the trucks are legendary for rotting apart, cabs gutters, fender corners, door sills, Dodges are rot cases. 1999-2004 7.3, this is coming from someone that hates Fords, but those 7.3L are great trucks. I have a '97 F-SuperDuty with a 460 V8 gas engine...it sucks gas...but it pulls a trailer...
My comments on diesel. It is more expensive than gas is now, but there has to be diesel available to get product to our doors and too brick and mortar. For the long haul, I think diesel will always be available. However, I don't see us getting off petrol or diesel any time soon. My F-SuperDuty is a dually, it only gets 8mpg when I tow...but I only tow a few times a year. I wouldn't worry about diesel any more than I worry about gas now. (which I don't)
Logan buy that 6.7 if it's $28k price point. It will treat you better than the 6.4. And I own a 6.4 with 350k miles I bought it with 100k. Original motor, but a lot of maintenance
If you need to pull heavy loads and don't care about the cost of fuel diesel is the way to go. Cummins is the only viable diesel engine in small trucks as far as I am concerned. I have a '22 2500 Ram that I only use to pull trailers. I have had it about a year and a half and only have a little over 7,000 miles on it. My son runs the heck out of his Dodge with a Cummins.
Don't do it, that 5.7 hemi will out last that 6.4, we have put over 180,000 miles on those 5.7 hemi with no issues, if you are not pulling anything big. No need to buy a diesel. If you want a diesel hands down stay with Cummings.
If you buy the ford it'll pull anything down the road but it's not much in the mountains. The long vehicle is snake and doesn't track well. Tires don't look like they have much tread expensive to replace. Haven't found many ford's that will keep up to my dodge 2500 5.9 diesel. The half ton ford's are better for all around mountain vehicle but they won't pull a trailer like the diesel. Good luck with your pick.
I'd say steer clear of motors they only made for a few years. But im a gm guy. But do what ya want man. She bites the dust it will be good content for the rest of us. Hahahaha
I know you don’t know me but please trust me you want the 6.7
6.4 no go!!
Totally should get the 6.7 over the 6.4. I currently daily a 6.7 and love it. 200k miles no major problems
Is the Ram paid for? If it is keep it, and do the maintained. I'm all for paid in full vehicles.
It’s a really nice truck but 6.4 had a lot of flaws in the design if you want one of those get the 6.7. Diesel
Don’t buy a 6.4 the motors are junk. You’re gonna buy one look for 7.0 or get a 6.7.
The 6.7 and 7.3 are what you should look at if it’s a Ford.
Shed season is my favorite season 😎
Cant wait to watch all of the shed tour vids! 🔥🔥🔥
I love watching rogue outdoorsman I’ve been waiting for this meet up
I'm a ford guy and I would not buy that but if you could find a 6.7 power stroke or a old 2000 7.3
Logan the 6.4 is a trash can on wheels🛞 The 6.7 is gonna be way better but I’m also a Dodge or Duramax fan so really go check out some other trucks stay away from that 6.4!
Things go out it’s even more expensive to fix!! Learned my lesson a long time ago.
Two shed legends 💪💯.
Trent’s the man! Beautiful black tail rattler.

If you want to pull the lodge, buy a 3/4 tin 6.4 hemi. Stay gas, diesel eventually the cost will catch up. With fuel and just services
I agree. The 6.4 hemi has more than enough power to pull that 12k trailer. Hell I pull that with my 5.7 power wagon no problem. She's a beast
Nice to see jade pup get out!
I wouldn’t buy a 6.4 ever again.
Same! Everyone warned me about them but I bought one anyways years ago. It was tuned and deleted and made 600HP to the wheels but man that thing was issue after issue. I got rid of it after like 7 months of owning it 😂
@@Stacked_Outdoors I had trans issues, and as always emission issues as well. I did the deletes but it didn’t help much.

It’s 210000 cause of the 6.4. Junk!!
Out of those two definitely the 6.7
Get a Cummins! You couldn't pay me enough to drive a powerjoke!
Keep the dodge!!

Love everything you guys do and all the effort you guys put in!
Damm shed hunters dream team right there nice 😮 both of you are hard hiking dudes come on
6.7 all the way! You won’t regret it

Get a diesel if you tow or plan on towing. Also if you get a lift for a 6.7 definitely check out PMF suspension if you want a quality lift.

mine 7.3 powerstroke -300 miles and rockin??talk to a few diesel mechanics best way to learn..they will know..cheers..
I would defiantly go with the 6.7 just because I feel like there is way more power and more options in the future.
7.3 or 6.7 for the diesel pretty known diesel guy kid
Get the 6.7. The 6.4s have nothing but problems. Had both and the 6.7 is much more reliable.
Not a bad truck if it's bulletproof. I don't remember exactly what that entails for that engine, but both the 6.0 and 6.4 are good if they're bulletproofed.
Logan, you don't want the 6.4! Go with the 6.7 if your wanting to go power stroke.
7.3 or 6.7 if you want a powerstroke
Don't go with the 6.4, Go with a 6.7
And another thing I think of it's got a hitch unit that means it's been pulling things. Good luck.
Don't do it unless you can afford to replace the transmission. The 6.7 might be a better option. Spend your money on a good diesel mechanic to go over a truck before you buy.. Go 6.7 diesel torque and power!

Soft pistons, cracks down the bowl Leeds to faliure, have newer piston done if cheap enough
14:50 that’s a BIG negative on the 6.4…. Definitely go 6.7 preferably 2015 and up if you want something way more reliable. Good luck 👊🏻
Don’t buy a diesel unless you can afford the maintenance.
Drove a diesel for years and loved it, but maintenance is twice the cost.
Logan buy that 6.7 if it's $28k price point. It will treat you better than the 6.4.
And I own a 6.4 with 350k miles I bought it with 100k. Original motor, but a lot of maintenance
6.7 over the 6.4 for sure.
Your dodge looks nice, I would keep it but that’s just me. When you want a new truck you want a new truck I get it.
Logi- my buddy owns that truck and had a lot of problems with it. Just let you know so you know what you get into.
That was a black F250 with the camper
Is the trucked deleted , they have had issues with the regen cycle and cracking the block in reference to the 6.4
Keep the dodge!
I have the same truck and it has been amazing. No big problems but I would spend the extra money for a 6.7
Definitely get a Cummins
I would never get rid of a hemi for anything with a blue oval on the grill.
Cummins is the king
I would honestly go with a 6.7 best motor Ford has made by far. 6.0 trash, 6.4 is okay but 6.7 the way to go if your going with a diesel
I have a foldable bowl for my pitty
Like your pup he is always thirsty lol
Go look at truck 2. Forget our saw truck 1.
Say no to the six four lol

Not a bad price but I’d say go with the 6.7 I know ppl that have had trouble out of the 6.4 . New motor about $12000 for one
You want the 6.7 over the 6.4 for sure
You should get it. Or get a diesel without def. But i prefer Duramax. Out of the 2 you showed i would ger the 6.7.
I would steer clear of a 6.4, you’ll be in the hole if all the typical 6.4 issues haven’t been addressed yet. They can be a money pit for sure.
Don't do it, that 5.7 hemi will out last that 6.4, we have put over 180,000 miles on those 5.7 hemi with no issues, if you are not pulling anything big. No need to buy a diesel. If you want a diesel hands down stay with Cummings.
If got 240k on my hemi. She's still strong with no problems. Just keep up with pull changes and the such. Great motors
You're going front a 2016 ram to a 2008 ford don't do it
If you get a 6.7 stay away from the first few years. They did have a few issues.
If your concerned about maintenance on the dodge you will be devastated by the maintenance costs of the 08 ford
Get a duramax 👍🏻
6.7 is solid
Don't do it Logan! If you want a Ford get a 6.7!

Logan, that truck looks good! I’m not a mechanic but, I’ve heard nothing good about that engine. Keep shopping around! Good luck.
I'm a diesel tech and teach diesel technology and I will say do not buy it!!
6.7
Get the 6.7 powerstroke over the 6.4 powerstroke.
With the amount of the extended warranty u can pay for the maintenance in the ram
First like a ford
I just know deisels are super expensive to fix
If ur getting a diesel get a cummins
I'd say steer clear of motors they only made for a few years. But im a gm guy. But do what ya want man. She bites the dust it will be good content for the rest of us. Hahahaha
Shoulda smashed it bro
Good morning
The 6.7 is better truck
The 6.4 does end up having issues
And 6.7 is a good motor
Ford tech for 11 years go with the 6.7 all the way, especially since it's already deleted. Absolutely stay away from the 6.4.
Do not get a deleted system truck,
Why
Because there against the law, also it can hurt the engine that was developed for
Broo you should get it
