This is riddled with mistranslations. In the Tanach the word for virgin (which appears almost 150 times) is Batula (‏בתולה). The word ‏בתולה is not found anywhere in Isaiah 7:14. The word used is hara( הרה ) which means “the young woman.” So when it is properly translated it is read as “behold, the young woman is pregnant and she will bear a son and she will call his name Emmanuel.”

Throughput isaiah, israel and jacob are used pluraly and singuraly. Meaning israel also means the jewish people as a whole in some verses. so the servant is literally named here. In Chapters 52 - 54, Isaiah is referring to the nations who have inflicted pain and suffering on the Jewish people. The suffering servant are the jews.

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace
    Isaiah 22:21
And I will clothe him with thy robe, and strengthen him with thy girdle, and I will commit thy government into his hand: and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah.
    Isaiah 42:1
Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.
    Isaiah 49:7
Thus saith the LORD, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, to him whom man despiseth, to him whom the nation abhorreth, to a servant of rulers, Kings shall see and arise, princes also shall worship, because of the LORD that is faithful, and the Holy One of Israel, and he shall choose thee.
    Isaiah 52:12-15
12For ye shall not go out with haste, nor go by flight: for the LORD will go before you; and the God of Israel will be your rereward.
13Behold, my servant shall deal prudently, he shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high.
14As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men:
15So shall he sprinkle many nations; the kings shall shut their mouths at him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they consider.
    Isaiah 53
1Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?
2For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
3He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
6All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
7He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
8He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.
9And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.
10Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.
11He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
12Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

Isaiah gave as a sign of God a woman - referring to either his own wife or the wife of king Ahaz - who would bear a son and the child wouldn't have grown up yet before the two invading kingdoms were destroyed by the Assyrians. Later on Isaiah talks precisely about this child. Read the entire book of Isaiah, I'd recommend. As for the child that would be called Mighty God, the reference is to the great Jewish king Hezekiah whose name in Hebrew means God is Mighty. Isaiah 53 does talk about Israel in singular person. 'He was pierced for our transgressions' doesn't mean that God punished a righteous person for the sins of Israel it means that Israel suffered because it was oppressed by other nations such as he Egyptians, then the Assyrians, then the Babylonians. Only the first half of the book of Isaiah was actually written by Isaiah himself. The latter half was written by his followers during the Babylonian exile amd was referring Israel's suffering during the existence and its eventual redemption by a future king who would restore the kingdom and bring about an age of peace. God himself would come after the Messiah to judge the nations and on that day the nations would seek the Jews to learn how to serve God by following their Torah, or at least the 7 laws given to Noah. That's the context and idea of the Book of Isaiah. It only mentions the Messiah as a human king about the end of the book. 53 is not talking about the messiah as a suffering servant.

Israel never atoned for anyone sin. They have a sacrificial system that they can’t perform today because of their sin. They were never righteous enough to Atone for anyones sin. Yahshua the Messiah is the High Priest. Leviticus 6:7 Luke 7:48. Plus Israel is identified by their Fathers not their Mothers more rabbinical twisting of scripture

Another requirement for being the Messiah is to be born from a virgin woman (Isaiah 7:14). So how can anyone be the Messiah according to you?? Well, I would say that the Messiah's earthly father has to be from the tribe of Judah. And was Joseph from Judah?? Yes. Yes he was. God bless

How about the mistranslation in Isaiah 7:14. In your incorrect Christian translations, it reads "Behold, a virgin will concieve."
The actual verse in Hebrew doesn't say anything about a virgin!
      הנה העלמה הרה
This more accurately translates to "Behold, the young woman is pregnant."
The Hebrew word for virgin is "Betulah / בתולה," While the Hebrew word used here is "Almah / עלמה" which means "young woman."
This same word, Almah, is used in Proberbs 30:19, only the Christian translators got it right that time? Seems targeted.
Now, we've gone over why its not a virgin-birth prophecy, Matthew 1:22-23 misquoted that bit.

      @Joshua-tn4ep Год назад +1

@@RavDror First, Isaiah says in his book many times the servant is Jacob, or Israel. But He also says in Isaiah 49:5 that the servant can also refer to himself, Isaiah.
"And now the LORD has resolved-
He who formed me in the womb to be His servant-
To bring back Jacob to Himself,
That Israel may be restored to Him."
This servant cannot be Jacob/Israel, if not it would read: He who formed me in the womb to be his servant Jacob, to bring Jacob back to Himself. It does not make sense.
So now that we have established that the servant does not only refer to Jacob/Israel all the time in this book. Let's see where servant= Jacob/Israel does not make sense again, so that we get the complete truth and not just half truths.
If the Servant refers to Jacob= Israel= God's people in Isaiah 53, it will not make sense.
"But he was wounded because of our sins,
      Crushed because of our iniquities.
He bore the chastisement that made us whole,
And by his bruises we were healed."
We all went astray like sheep,
      Each going his own way;
And the LORD visited upon him
The guilt of all of us.”
For he was cut off from the land of the living
Through the sin of my people, who deserved the punishment.
And his grave was set among the wicked,
And with the rich, in his death-
Though he had done no injustice
      And had spoken no falsehood."
Sorry? Jacob/Israel had done no injustice and had spoken no falsehood? The first part of the book of Isaiah is about God bringing judgment on Israel for all her sins.
      "Ah, sinful nation!
      People laden with iniquity!
      Brood of evildoers!
      Depraved children!
      They have forsaken the LORD,
Spurned the Holy One of Israel,
      Turned their backs [on Him]."
      Isaiah 1:4
"But the LORD chose to bruise him,
That, if he made himself an offering for sin,
He might see offspring and have long life,
And that through him the LORD’s purpose might prosper.
“My righteous servant makes the many righteous,
      It is their punishment that he bears;
For he exposed himself to death
And was numbered among the sinners,
Whereas he bore the guilt of the many
      And made intercession for sinners.”
Sorry? Israel bore the chastisement of Israel's sins? Israel made himself an offering for sin? Israel is the righteous servant who makes many righteous? Israel bears their punishment? Israel bore the guilt of many? Israel made intercession for sinners?
And now, even Isaiah the servant does not make sense. Did Isaiah bear the punishment of Israel? Isaiah is the righteous servant who makes many righteous? Who can make many sinners righteous except God? Can human make sinners righteous? The only valid answer is God. So who is this righteous Servant who makes sinners righteous? I'm asking you to think for yourself, who alone fits the description? And now read Isaiah 53 again... It can't be... But that's the only answer.
What is the main point of Isaiah 53? God putting the guilt of us all upon His righteous Servant, who made Himself an offering for sin, bearing the sin of many, making many righteous.
"We all went astray like sheep,
      Each going his own way;
And the LORD visited upon him
The guilt of all of us.”
"But the LORD chose to bruise him,
That, if he made himself an offering for sin."
"Though he had done no injustice
      And had spoken no falsehood."
"But he was wounded because of our sins,
      Crushed because of our iniquities.
He bore the chastisement that made us whole,
And by his bruises we were healed."
“My righteous servant makes the many righteous,
It is their punishment that he bears."

Israel has never been blemish free - ISAIAH 53:10 is clear that this SERVANT is an Asham (blemish free guilt offering) - we are told in ISAIAH 64:6 and 59:12-21 that all Israel has transgressed against God and fallen short. Not one is righteous - the Asham of ISAIAH 53 is without sin. Read Exodus 12, 13,14, and ISAIAH 52-53 - this SERVANT is the Passover Lamb. ISAIAH introduces and quotes Exodus 12-14 in ISAIAH 52 for a reason - to introduce our blemish free Passover Lamb who saves us from judgement - our Asham.
