Story 1 - I'm sure Kevin thinks he bombed that interview because it was a "stupid female who doesn't know anything", and his anger was justified for having to deal with such an "incompetent". Source - I'm a female working in IT. Story 2 - Yikes! I feel bad for his wife, married to someone like that.
I got laid off from MADD because, and I quote (paraphrase) HR "MADD does not support the ADA and will not provide accommodations to anyone asking for any accommodations for disabilities, regardless of coverage by federal law." because I asked for accommodations. So what do you do? How do you prove things like that? How do you get a lawyer when you have no income? HR 100% is there to protect the company and NOT employees.
I will likely own a business in the future, and the HR department I create will be very different. HR should never be used as a tool to get a company breathing down the throats of employees. Instead, they should act in the best interest of all employees. HR should enforce anti-discrimination laws, use evidence such as cameras during investigations, and encourage employees to make the workplace better for all. A good HR department should not take seniority into account in any case.
Story 2: You want her to press formal charges against a guy for attempted passionate hugging with no evidence? Do you KNOW how well that will turn out for her?
@@Localcourtjester4hire I'm not saying it didn't happen I'm saying pressing charges will put her through the wringer and won't result in any punishment for the dude.
First story: do you REALLY think Kevin learned from that, that screaming at his interviewer didn't get him the job?!? Or was it more like "the FEMALE interviewer didn't give him HIS job"...?
As someone whom works in Corporate, I cannot stress that enough. Always leave the company on good terms, never burn bridges, in the corporate world, it's a small world no matter how big the industry you are in seems to be... your actions will spread and you will become a pariah in your own field. Please, check your ego, leave with your held held high and always document every HR Communication with a follow up email to ensure there is a paper trail. Despite what HR tells you, they are there to protect the company NOT YOU. Remember who pays their check, it isn't you. HR DOES NOT have your best interest at heart. There is only one person that will look out for you, and that is you.
My wife had a dream job she wanted to career at her whole life. they worked her to death until it started literally killing her. she finally buckled and they immediately shit-canned her, and replaced her with a college age volunteer, which, we're sure was the goal. they've been through, like 8 of them in the couple years since.
2nd story 1. If she was unwilling to pass charges it wasn't enough evidence to fire another employee. "I only tried once.." He didn't specify what he tried. 3. The woman was doing something illegal in your country, and you took her side. All kinds of wrong went on there.
In my experience working in IT for over 30 yrs. HR's one and ONLY job is to protect the company and upper management from anything that might cost the company money or get upper management in trouble. If you aren't upper management they couldn't care less.
the fact Kevin already got kick out one of the major tech companies already and then get kicked out the second biggest tech company in the world and blacklist from that company, Kevin going have to find a new career and this why it is important to be nice to everyone in your job cause like OP said that manager you know may know other managers at other companies if you apply there that I chief and my boss know alot chief so if I want get another job, he may know that boss there so be nice to everyone
Yeah, if there’s one thing to keep in mind when you’re working in the tech industry is to never ever burn bridges, because people move around a LOT in the industry and the whole “six degrees of separation” thing is a very real phenomenon.

Story 1: This is why you need *COMPETENT* and *SELFLESS* people as managers, not IneptManager (Kevin). Everything was going well, and everyone was happy, but Kevin came along and everything fell apart. Kevin's misogyny and ableism is not something workplaces need. Don't be like Kevin, because people will remember everything you do, and it'll nip you in the arse later
I need to write a book "How to talk to HR" It's going to be like thirty words. After speaking to my attorney, we are moving forward with a lawsuit over _. This meeting is to inform the company. Any further communication will be through my lawyer. An HR jumps out of their chair and goes NOW WAIT! LETS TALK.
The first story is a very important lesson about not judging a book by its cover, and how karma can go borderline nuclear when you're a misogynistic, ableist piece of garbage. This is why you should always be nice to people: the butt you kick today may be the butt you have to kiss tomorrow.
21:16 Talk about ancient history repeating itself. The emperor Augustus had rounded up all his married daughter's lovers, about 20 of them and one of the guilty answered that it was only once. Ok so I'm not an expert on CPR but I went through training for being a teacher at a daycare and also training when I had given birth to my son and another time bringing my son home after his heart surgery, but I have NEVER heard anything about digging a hole under someone to give them CPR in fact when performing CPR you need to make sure that the patient is on a flat surface to ensure correct and complete chest compressions. Just saying that girl has some serious issues and I recommend that she NOT go into nursing because if she is giving false information on CPR could potentially put people in danger and I would personally not want her as a nurse.
The last story kinda gives me conflicted feeling.. like i get the justice boner of ruining a rapist's life, but the way it started was weird? Like Sami did commit a crime technically so the call was correct; so I kinda don't understand why OP was being gung-ho about it (remember, it was BEFORE they realised that the rapist is a rapist Then OP said "why create trouble for me etc" and ahhhh.. that's why. And that emoji after hearing the wife cries is just double a-hole ™ for me
The problem I have with the last story is the OP's motivation. Fire someone for attempted R word, yes please, but that was his excuse to fire him not his real reason. He was already looking to fire someone when he realized it had to one of his employees. He wanted to fire one of his employees for reporting a crime being committed on his property. He's first comment to the POS R word guy was about why even get involved, why does he care what an employee does on their own time. But it was on you YOUR property. He wanted to fire an employee for reporting a crime on his property and the sexual assault attempt was his excuse. I won't say the driver got what he deserved because he deserves to be in prison, but he got as much as the OP could do, but the OP is NOT a good person
Love that second story!!! My question is; why didnt OP just go to the VP with the issues regarding Kevin? He probably would have looked into it all right away.
hr only care’s about the benefit of the company not the individual employees remember everyone hr is not actually your friend and puts the company first above all else so remember to cover your own butt
What the heck is the purpose of HR? Seriously. I guess I am an old fart that didn’t work anywhere where there was an HR. Rarely do I hear stories where they are helpful to employees getting harassed, especially by managers. I am sure this is not always the case, but man I am blown away by the idiocy of this particular HR.
From what I understood, HR lead with a front that is like "hey, we're here to help employees if something happens" Their true role, though, is to keep the company from being sued or being in trouble. By solving the problems internally, it keeps it from being known on the outside and leading to bigger issues. Since their job is not actually to help employees but the company, they seem to sometimes sweep under the rug problems that could lead to being sued or else because... I guess they think people won't do it?
I will put money on Kevin knowing who, what, and why he got fired, and applied to management positions of all of his former subordinates to punish them in his new position of power. Being a narcissist, he never thought the potential employer wouldn't hire him. There's no way anything else could have happened. Stupidity isn't in this guy's MO.
To all new or struggling middle managers: Remember that you are NOTHING without your team. Collectively, your team knows more about the job than you ever will, even if you were promoted from within. Your job is not to tell people how to do their jobs. Your job is to be a valuable resrouce for your team, to assist in coordinating the efforts of the people who report to you, and to align individual skills and talents with tasks, and help people learn, grow, and overcome their weaknesses. Every success and victory is your TEAM'S doing, and every failure and shortcoming is YOUR responsibility. You GIVE the praise, and ACCEPT the blame. If you cannot accept this concept, then you are not suited for a leadership position. I say this, having been in leadership positions across many companies, in many industries. This is a universal concept, with universal results. Love your team!
reminder to not get angry at assault victims for not wanting to report it, yes it’s frustrating but the reality is more often than not victims aren’t listened to and even less often does anything good come from the report. just have compassion x
Unfortunately it's true, it's not what you know but who you know. I was qualified for several jobs, hell I was overqualified for half of them and never even got an interview! And even when I was working other people got promoted over me. Why? Cause they would stand outside and become buddy-buddy with the managers who smoked, guess it's my fault for wanting to stay healthy! And what's worse, just like Kevin these people were the worst kind. My co-workers loved me, even said I should be a manager... but the others were friends with the managers. So like I said, not what you know but who you know. I knew more than 90% of the managers there and I had to go to THEM to get permission to do things they DIDN'T EVEN KNOW ABOUT!!! That's bureaucracy for you!

"i only tryed to kill him/her once you honour, they only ended up paralyzed from the neck so i should be allowed to go free!" thats basicly the guys logic in the last story.
2nd story:So this guy is mad at ops best friend for not wanting to cheat on a person who is married cause, he was jealous of her by dating someone else who is not him by calling the cops on them.
Always remember. HR is not there for you. They are paid by the company to protect company interests. This HR was particularly incompetent, thats also common
An office with a door? My first day in IT I got an office with a door, then a cube in an office with a door.... 9 other cubes, two storage rooms, two conference rooms, two other offices in the same wing with a door and a headache. Mind you this is all post covid and shared with one person, who has since left. So TLDR I'm in a wing of a building at one location, a decent(?) sized room in another all solo and support 4 other locations without having an office in them.
Hopefully Sami winds up in prison, where his fellow inmates each get to “just try it once” in the showers. Again, and again, and again, and again . . .
hearing stories from IT make me so motivated to get better in IT. I resonate with OP so well, I am a woman and I have a disability so if she can do it so can I :D.
Isn't the whole POINT of meetings supposed to be getting everyone on the same page? If everyone was already on the same page then a meeting wouldn't be necessary. It would be classic "This could have been an email" updates.

Story 1: you know in this day and age where being biased towards anything is the easiest way to be blacklisted from everything. You would think people would learn by now that even if you are sexist, racist, homophobic, or whatever to keep it to themselves. But now we still have people that have to learn the hard way.

Some people think freedom of speech means freedom of consequences for said speech. If there's one thing I like about today's world is that people will jump on a bigot with the ferocity to match a pack of starving hyenas.
True in the private sector and government. Academia: my PI mocked the religions of his grad students, threaten to shoot them over political disputes and mocked their intelligence. But appearly mocking their personal appearance is a bridge too far, as HR was supposedly involved when he called a grad student fat.
Some people just live in the past. They think because it was okay in 1880 it's okay now and everyone else is stupid except them.
"i only tried once" omg thats like saying "i only tried to murder you once" what a monster
"You murdered someone, what's your defense?"
"I only tried once! It worked but... It was only one person."
I mean, that's still better than someone trying either of these multiple times, at least he got the message.
But why does he sound like he was expecting a "great job" cookie and a handshake, that's what got me. "Oh, you only tried once? Well, then it's alright, nevermind!"
@@JayLeeBeanz if someone is the type to try something like that once it means that they either have or will do it again. he didn't get any message or learn any lesson other then he needs to be more careful to not get caught in the future.
7:28 That was one line I HATED when I was at school complaining to the teacher, vice principal, any teacher who would listen but some how it was my fault I was bullied and "try to get along with them" "try harder to get along with them" or "you must have done something for them to act that way towards you", " there must be a reason, they dont just decide to pick on people" The teachers always made it my fault. The last story I know OP was probably recording theirs and Sammy's talk but just the line, "I only tried once sir." Like that has to be the dumbest thing I have ever heard come out of someone's mouth as an excuse for their actions, like that's gonna help you keep your job Sammy. Hope this dude is on a no hiring black list.
19:53-20:09 "I only tried once, sir." Does anyone get Borat and South Park vibes from this.😅
New manager stories in a nutshell:
Everything was great and working smoothly, THEN THE FIRE NATION ATTACKED!
HR 100% is there to protect the company and NOT employees.
asking, BEGGING, on their knees, for a lawsuit.
He's an idiot and he openly admitted it ...just do it again but this time record his confession. Done.
Well, after the fucker outright confessed to OP, I think it'd go just fine
@@brendanboomhour7606 The court system puts women who make such accusations through the wringer.

I doubt that manager had a clue. He keeps getting fired, probably for the same reasons. He's got the self awareness of a rock.
“I only tried once, sir.”
WOW. I didn’t think there could be a worse response than “She was asking for it with how she was dressed”, but there it is.
Story 1: Positions should be based on “merit.” Putting Kevin there was stupid, and so was he. If he had learned from his team, he would have been fine
My wife had a dream job she wanted to career at her whole life. they worked her to death until it started literally killing her. she finally buckled and they immediately shit-canned her, and replaced her with a college age volunteer, which, we're sure was the goal. they've been through, like 8 of them in the couple years since.
2nd story
@@Tustin2121 agreed same in the kitchen industry cause alot chief know each other and if you do some dumb shit like Kevin did, other Chief would know and wouldn't hired him
Story 1: This is why you need *COMPETENT* and *SELFLESS* people as managers, not IneptManager (Kevin). Everything was going well, and everyone was happy, but Kevin came along and everything fell apart. Kevin's misogyny and ableism is not something workplaces need.
Don't be like Kevin, because people will remember everything you do, and it'll nip you in the arse later
I need to write a book
"How to talk to HR"
It's going to be like thirty words. After speaking to my attorney, we are moving forward with a lawsuit over _. This meeting is to inform the company. Any further communication will be through my lawyer.
An HR jumps out of their chair and goes NOW WAIT! LETS TALK.
If Sammy did that to one woman, I bet he tried it with most of them. OP should have talked to the other women.

I laughed so hard when I read your comment, questioned it, the Slash said "Where OP ruins his managers life"
My husband always Wonder why I listen to these but if he'd be as drama hungy as I am, he'd understand 😂😂😂😂 my life is boring!😂😂
"Only once?" Needless to say the lovers sort 'disappeared' while Augustus' wife locked the daughter in her room until she starved to death.
I love prorevenge stories!!!! It's so satisfying to hear about bad people getting their well deserved karma!
You can tell rSlash is have so much fun with OP's writing style, I think this is the most emotional variation I've ever heard.
I like that he uploads these around 7-10AM for me. A good thing to help me wake up.
It’s almost always 9am EST, sometimes he uploads a little later. I know because I look forward to them since I drive all over the country and typically am up well before his videos and they’re something new and interesting I can listen to.
@@MegaMyown If you're talking about the couple of minutes afterwards, it's because RUclips staggers the scheduled uploads to reduce stress on the system! If you're talking about when he was a couple hours late, it was an accident. :)

What blows my mind the most was that Kevin HAS a wife and kids!! Can you begin to IMAGINE being married to and raising kids with someone like him? Sexist and ableist? He sounds like a REAL good husband and father. 😂
I hope that everyone is having a good Thursday!

I ONLY TRIED ONCE??? omg the BALLS AND NERVE on this sad excuse of a carbon lump
“I only tried once”
Yes, and your good sense is why you’re leaving without injury! So don’t push your luck!
There's something so satifisying about starting the day with an RSlash Video
The last story kinda gives me conflicted feeling.. like i get the justice boner of ruining a rapist's life, but the way it started was weird? Like Sami did commit a crime technically so the call was correct; so I kinda don't understand why OP was being gung-ho about it (remember, it was BEFORE they realised that the rapist is a rapist
Then OP said "why create trouble for me etc" and ahhhh..
It WAS NOT on their property, it was somewhere else, and off the clock.
Don't they ever learn never mess with the IT person ESPECIALLY HIGH-level IT.
That first story was fun but it reads so much like a story from Livejournal that I can't take it seriously
"sir, i only tried once"
yeah, that's why he's being fired, and not executed.
Love that second story!!! My question is; why didnt OP just go to the VP with the issues regarding Kevin? He probably would have looked into it all right away.

I was literally waiting for OP to say they were a woman. Saw that coming a mile away. Ugh. Managers

Daily reminder that HR is NOT YOUR FRIEND. Their goal is to protect the company, not you.
hr only care’s about the benefit of the company not the individual employees remember everyone hr is not actually your friend and puts the company first above all else so remember to cover your own butt
From what I understood, HR lead with a front that is like "hey, we're here to help employees if something happens"
Their true role, though, is to keep the company from being sued or being in trouble. By solving the problems internally, it keeps it from being known on the outside and leading to bigger issues. Since their job is not actually to help employees but the company, they seem to sometimes sweep under the rug problems that could lead to being sued or else because... I guess they think people won't do it?
human relations is NOT YOUR FRIEND. they protect the company, not the employees.
To all new or struggling middle managers:
Remember that you are NOTHING without your team.

She didn't want to get anyone in trouble "on her account "
That poor girl ...
The 1st story is not a prorevenge, its a nuclear revenge
So the story with the jerk who discriminated because of her disability…the lady was clearly discriminated against, she got a legal settlement that included a stipulation she would not discuss it. She proceeds to discuss it in detail with someone else. Can anyone tell me how this doesn’t violate her agreement? Or at least tell me what I am missing. Legally speaking.
Damn missed the hat trick. When OP said they were a disabled woman I thought she'd also say she was from a different ethnicity too.🤣
"i only tryed to kill him/her once you honour, they only ended up paralyzed from the neck so i should be allowed to go free!"
thats basicly the guys logic in the last story.
More r/talesfromtechsupport please rslash!!!
I missed pro revenge!!! This was juicy and petty, oh, the best of the vest, thank you, Dabney!
Sami: I only tried once sir
Me: Once too many times.
Does someone remember episode where OP tried to get time off work but his toxic boss keeps refusing and instead give time off to her favourites?
The only thing I want from the first story is that I wished he knew why his career tanked. It is more satisfying that way!!
Hopefully Sami winds up in prison, where his fellow inmates each get to “just try it once” in the showers. Again, and again, and again, and again . . .
I love RSLASH and he should read the comment section from RUclips that tells some good stories ?
hearing stories from IT make me so motivated to get better in IT.

Oh my god I would LOVE to have the person from the first story as a mentor.
First story: This is the third time this story is re-run. Every episode is consisting of re-runs nowadays? What is up rslash?
Still good content tho
This is why you never screw people over in a professional setting. The ass you kick today, might be the ass you kiss tomorrow.
As much as I would like to enjoy the second story, I can't. Imagine being DEPORTED for anything short of violence or other serious charge.
Imagine having such a fragile ego that you feel threatened by a mere presence of a disabled woman working in IT
I have to disagree with you because a misogynist and a narcissist will not see their outbursts as wrongdoing they will see it as they were right and the person that was interviewing was wrong
