Was an m3 lee/grant tank ww2 considering it's value I'd bet that tank chassis has probably gone off to be used for parts and that particular tank didn't have that engine it would have had a 9 cylinder radial engine originally

@@AutomotiveKarnage no idea but it was common place for farmers to "bathtub" the old tanks and replace the motors with stuff that's more reliable and old radial engine isn't the best engine for a farmer's home made bulldozer haha

@@AutomotiveKarnage the engine looks like an old Gardner 6l diesel motor. You should definitely get that, it’d be worth a mint today. Being a Gardner it would probably fire straight up too if not seized or in bad nick!

Way the fuck over here in the Idaho Rockies I'm enjoying your video's Mate! 11:18 The Land Rover engine is known as an "F" head design, the Willys Jeep had that same style back in the 50's too.

The series one Land Rover petrol engines had a "inlet over exhaust" valve arrangement....1.6L and 2.0L versions. The diesel 2.0L had a conventional OHV arrangement.

In relation to the engine at 10:38 It is called a F head motor. I was told that the inlet is overhead and exhaust is side valve. As the intake is only pushed in at atmospheric pressure (14psi) it is best to go in a more straight line to the piston. But because the exhaust is pushed out under pressure it can turn the corner to go out the side valve. (But some engines may have exhaust at top and inlet at side.

That Land Rover engine, quite a few manufactures did engines like that built from the older side valve engine blocks, leave the intake valves in the block as they were in a side valve engine but the exhaust valve was removed from the block and a push rod was put in its place to operate a now OHV exhaust valve.
Jeep/Kaiser/Willys did this with the Go Devil engine and created the ‘f’ head engine.
Was a way to get more power from a side valve based engine.
