These interviews are v interestig for sure brother. For me in the UK it started with ' Time to Jack ' " House Music Anthem ' & having studied Disco culture hard too - it's all about Ron Hardy, the most imaginative taste of all DJs imo.

Wow. You in Tampa? I just moved down here. Never realized they actually have a House Community down here. I've been down here since Thanksgiving. Gonna have to look into this.

House music for me began summers behind the museum and Mendel

I totally get where Wayne is coming from on the influence of Frankie. When I was at Rome for my study abroad trip I told an Italian guy that I was from Chicago and the next words out if his mouth were "Frankie Knuckles"...

"No Way Back", "Jack The Bass" and "Dum-Dum" were my first purchases back in 1985-1986. So if he was picking those records that's a serious mind blower for me 😀

I have got to side with Wayne on the labels not believing in certain records that are known as ‘Hits’ nowadays. It’s hard to get someone who doesn’t listen to dance music or frequent the dance clubs to believe in dance music. Great interview! I’m subscribing for the future content!!

I just found you channel. Thanks for this. And a special thanks for mentioning "The Music Got Me" by Visual. Boyd Jarvis is huge in this genre.

I always knew the term "House Music" did not have its origin in the name of the North Halsted iconic PowerPlant/Warehouse dance club !!!

    • @thomasbrown3356

      That is still debatable.

So, the only thing I got out of this interview is Colonel Abrams track not House music, because it wasn't made in Chicago. We sure borrowed it, a lot , in the mix, back then. I copped mine from Importes etc, long before On and On even got released..

House music is DJ driven. Hip hop is artist driven. DJs don’t have personality like that.

Get the truth out there because there are documentaries insinuating that House started in NYC and giving them credit for spreading it globally.

      Indeed. Chicago birthed House Music
