I’m so sorry I didn’t do the official lyric video! 😭 I didn’t realize it was in English.. If you all would like, I can do another video with the official lyric video. It wouldn't be a FIRST TIME reaction, obviously, but if it's something you want, I'll be glad to do it. :) (Won't be able to get to it until early next week though.)
It's definitely worth the watch...however, it's not sung in English but rater its their first ever Lyric video with all English subtitles actually in the vid. The words paint a dark picture and the video paints an even darker memory. But there is hope at the end.... Keep in mind where Suzuka is from so when you watch it, you will understand. Put your Kitsune UP!! Po!
I think the reaction was good. You should watch the video because it is good, but I'd be much more interested in seeing a reaction to a song you have not heard already.
Welcome back to BabyMetal's metalverse.🦊🤘🌐 Nice to see you're back and starting this new year with this new BM single and more songs. Get ready for another one coming this month along with live performance returning to the stage. Remember that none of the Kami Band members are involved during album studio recordings and they only play live, only one of them is officially credited on certain songs, he's Leda Cygnus. Also you should watch the official lyrics video, so far no one is having any copyright blocked issues so it's safe to react. They're probably using the Norse mythology when mentioning about Ragnarok as a metaphor for nuclear blast, once you know where SuMetal was born it all makes sense. But instead of drown in negativity she's giving us hope that if a war or any other sad moment (like the recent pandemic) is happening nowadays, the colors will be back.☔☀️🌈 We all know so far that this time they're introducing us to their metalverse with 10 different worlds and songs, and we're gonna see the full picture once the full album is out, probably some more hints with the next singles coming and the live performance next January. OTFGK. These are the credits: *Monochrome* Lyrics : MK-METAL Music & Arrangement : YUPPEMETAL (aka Yuyoyuppe) he's the one behind songs like Karate, Rondo Of Nightmare, Megitsune and Kagerou, he knows his business and totally rocks. Like SuMetal said at the end: _"Just smile"_ 🙂 Thanks for sharing this and see you next time.🦊🤘🌈
Yo EMP, happy to see you react to this one. Watch the original visualizer version from the Babymetal channel. The first time i heard Monochrome it made me emotional and i didn't know why until I watched the analysis by AJ Hartley. It had made him emotional too when he watched it. His video is a first time reaction and deep analysis. Can't wait till the next one!
Nice reaction! However, this song is a piece that is worth watching with the official video. I strongly recommend you to react with the official video.
Good reaction - by the way, did anybody mention in passing that you should have watched the official lyric video yet? 😉😁 They never put out a lyric video before, I'm thinking they really want us to know what they are singing so we can decide what the song means (as ever it is open to interpretation of course and we will all have our own thoughts, which is not a bad thing) ... and the visuals on lyric videos are never like they are on the official video, if you watch it you will see for yourself they mean something too. From my starting point of almost complete ignorance I have been learning so much from comments under other reactions about Ragnarok and the Norse mythology being referenced and the general consensus is there are also many references to the bombing of Hiroshima (Su-metal's home town) and Nagasaki, even if it is not specifically about those tragic events. The "monochrome firework" could be the bomb and the tree they used in the visuals throughout and that was finally shown in colour at the end could be the Hiroshima Peace Tree that survived the bombing as well as the tree of life from Norse mythology. As ever BABYMETAL do leave us with a feeling of hope and optimism and the message that no matter how long the night, the morning will still come. Colour will return to the world.
I like both releases enough to add them to my current playlist. They remind me a bit of some songs off of Metal Galaxy. If I was a billionaire, this band would be playing a private show for me every year.
Nice one, thanks! As it's already said, you need to watch their official lyric video. Because, this time the visuals matters. That one is also their first lyric video ever and with English lyrics. So, I guess they wanted everyone to understand the message. Because this is a very beautiful song with a deep meaning. They built a huge allegory with several layers of significance, using obscure references to Norse mythology, the same kind of metaphors like in their song "No Rain no Rainbow", etc. just to present a dark scenario. But brightening it all in the end with their typical optimism.
@@EmpReacts Don't worry, you can still watch it in your own time... and now, you have more context to fully appreciate the whole thing. It took me a while to realize what was going on. And when I did, I couldn't believe what I was watching. As I said, keep an eye on the visuals.😊
The kamiband is the live backing band and is not the same as the generally uncredited studio musicians. The exception is Leda Cygnus who has played guitar and bass on a couple of studio tracks. Leda has also done arranging work for Babymetal.
You have said it several times now so I feel I need to help you understand correctly...the Kami Band is their Live Band and except for a few exceptions, they are NOT the musicians who perform on the album version. Usually what we get from the studio is a clean, very produced (over produced??) product, while the live shows with the Kami Band is usually a darker, heavier sound, though still very technical and well played piece of music. Thanks for another great reaction and as always.... Put your Kitsune UP!! Po!
I'm a few days late reacting to your reaction, and I see where others have already pointed out the original is a lyric video. It's pretty important to see the visuals as they tell as much of the story as the lyrics. Just keep in mind Su was born and raised in Hiroshima and it's beautifully emotional/inspiring
Missed the live reaction, but let me just say, please do yourself a favor and watch the actual official lyric video. No idea why someone thought it was necessary to make this when the official video has the lyrics... The rest of that video is so much better than just having pictures of Su and Moa. Enjoyed your reaction regardless.
I'm going to ask this: if someone played this song without telling you who it was, would you think it's BABYMETAL? I wouldn't. As I mentioned in your reaction to "Divine Attack", it seems to me that BABYMETAL has lost the kawaii that they had. This song throws a few bars of metal at you but, for the most part, it's a just another J-pop song and there's nothing kawaii about it. In my opinion (and we all know what opinions are like), this song and "Divine Attack" have the same feel as the four Su-metal solos from their first two albums. I truly hope that the release of "The Other One" album proves me wrong and that the remaining eight songs on the album are full-blown kawaii. Just for the sake of argument, I suggest (again) that you go back to BABYMETAL's first music video "Doki Doki Morning" - now THAT'S kawaii metal! Compared to this song, it's night and day. 🦊🤘
Honestly, I probably wouldn't have guessed it to be them if someone showed me without telling me lol. & I have Doki Doki Morning on the list for next week. :)

You should have watched the official lyric video. The visuals add a whole new layer and so far Amuse is not blocking it.

Yeah, I completely dropped the ball with the video. I had no clue they did it in English. :( Next time, I'll look before assuming!

@@EmpReacts I beleive he ment its the first official lyric video with the full English subs added...not sung in English.
You should have reacted to the official lyric video. It's far better and as others have said amuse is not blocking reactions to if for some reason.
You didn't do the official Lyric video 😕 you missed so much about songs, meaning . Still enjoyed your reaction 😁🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼
