I'm happy I got the last version before the face lift. the implementation of the oval dash on the new interior is HIDEOUS!! I recon the previous version will age well as the years go by
Hideous was the first word that popped into my head too! Good thing the 2025 U.S. version has not been face lifted yet. I'm not even crazy about the billboard that sits on top of the dash of the current model. But all things considered, I think the GV70 is one of the better looking crossovers you can buy for under $100,000 today, lol. So that is what I am buying.
I currently have the Kia GT so I'm used to the dual screens. I like how it's curved in my car tho vs it just being flat. One thing about the refresh is that you get a bigger screen that is closer to you. I do like the super ultra wide screen on the older one but I just thought it was too short height wise. That being said I actually prefer two separate screens more cause the current one looks more like a traditional car which I much prefer. The current one also has some tech that I like the 3D screen which I haven't seen IRL yet but I know I will like it cause I have some glasses free 3D devices around. Also I like the Prestige rims more on the current one vs the refresh. The circular exhaust is better imo as well.
WTF are you talking about. Exaggerate much? Hideous is a stretch... new implementation is really functional and still super clean. The prev gen is nice, and this one is equally nice and arguably has more of a wow factor for night time driving..

Definitely the 2024 (Pre-Facelift) looks better, both inside and out! Yes, the grille on the 2025 looks more befitting of a luxury car, but the front/rear bumper changes, exhaust, and interior took away a lot of its charm. And I'm starting to think that some of the changes can be attributed to cost cutting. The continuous display is saves cost because it only uses one module rather than two, and the screen brought down to the dash centerpoint means less real estate (ie. leather surfaces) to account for.
If you didn't own a GV70 then the update is the one but if you already owned the pre update then you should be perfect happy with the one you have. Greetings from Australia.
Bought a 2022 sport plus top of the line back in october 2021. I just love this car. I like the wheels, brake calipers, interior lighting, and new rear view mirror better on the new one. But, i like my gage cluster, rear exhaust, upper brake light, center console, and more curved interior better on mine. I think the pre facelift looks and feels more sporty.
I love Genesis, bought one of the very first GV70 3.5 Sport Prestige's, but I HATE the new panoramic screen, and am seeing more and more similar comments from owners. The rest of the GV70 changes are nice but the panoramic screen is a step backwards, it place both e instrument cluster and infotainment screen at less than their optimal height and position, no glare protection for the instrument cluster, and can be distracting to the driver, plus it looks like an add-on that doesn't belong.

I can assure you the new screen setup is more expensive because it's OLED vs the cheaper looking LCD. Exterior changes I like the front and rear because the old one in the rear had those fake plastic hex things which looked kinda cheap. The exhausts looked nice though. Front of the new model looks better IMO because it's more streamlined and the lines are more horizontal
I only just saw the facelift at the LA motor show, wish I'd seen your video first. It's a gorgeous vehicle and looks very much up market - the amount of people that mistake Genesis for Bentleys in the UK. Not a big fan of the 27 inch screen. Looks more like a electric car than a real car. Takes away from the classic sportiness in my opinion. Everything else is great as far as interior upgrades such as the b&o sound, massage & memory seats for passenger now, lighting and vented seats for rear. Love love that they changed the wireless charging position as I always forget my phone (like you did) in that small pocket. Outside appearance is not worth the upgrade as i prefer the previous model look better.
Agree with the screens. Look cheap and gimmicky.. But unfortunately it is the direction all manufacturers are going.. Gauge clusters are a thing of the past
@@rybalchenkofamily even non-luxury cars have this screen. I was hoping Genesis was going to implement the screen with more elegance and harmony. It looks like it's just slapped on. It almost looks like a third-party screen, purchased online - just to keep up with the times.
There are many comments talking about the like/dislike for the massive screen. The screen doesn't match the interior, and once the newness of it wears off, it will feel dated. However(!), watching your night POV video? The tech on the new screen is vastly improved over the current model! Those camera angles in the main display, with all the extra info? For me, at this price point, no car has come close to matching the Audi virtual cockpit until this.
Thanks for sharing your thoughtful insight. I honestly fell in love with the screen the moment I saw it, but perhaps I didn't do a great job capturing it 🥲
Thanks for this video and talking more about the sportiness! When you do the test drive video can you go more in depth on how the handling feels? Things like how well it handles turns compared to the sedan versions, if when you press the gas pedal it responds really fast or takes a second before going, and the overall ride quality while doing spirited driving
Hope my latest video answers some of your questions. The car having an automatic transmission, it isn't the quickest HMG has got to offer, yet does deliver. The car being an SUV, it cannot overcome the physical limitation of physics, having higher center of gravity, etc., compared to sedans, but sure does provide a remarkable performance given the nature being. Appreciate the new alert sound, the current one is so loud is exactly the same as the newer Kia and Hyundai models so it kind of diminishes that elevated brand feel. I love the digital rear mirror and the new Cereals Blue color but very curious if those options make it to the USA market Lastly, I'm torn on the single panel screen. I do think its UI and integrated tech are well implemented but do also see how it's moving in that negative direction most car manufacturers seem to be going in. However, I do appreciate that theres still hard buttons and a rotary knob for navigation Thanks for the video!
To me, certain elements are better and some are not as good. I don't like the new wheels or exhaust as much as the old ones. Still, I LOVE the GV70! Well done Genesis!
The pre facelift third brake light was absolute fire!! New one, not so much at all. It's just a basic one you'd see on a car from 30 years ago. Horrible choice!
Hi, great video. Are you able to show / confirm / tell me if the adaptive cruise control can be switched to just normal cruise control either via the settings menu or via the button on the wheel. I find this useful on Toyota that you can toggle between the radar/adaptive and normal cruise. Thanks heaps
The U.S. market will receive the upgrades in 2026. Currently, we have the pre-facelift 2025 model. I personally enjoy using mine, but I must either wait until 2026 or purchase a GV80 coupe with an upgraded interior.
i purchased my gv70 Sp3.5 ..becasue it was different then anything else on the road .. but now its slowly starting to look like everything else , the unique rims now look like something you can get off tirerack, the new screen looks like they went threw the kia/hyundai telluride/ palisade parts bin.. the unigue of the vehicle is leaving glad i got my 2023 when i did
i love my GV70 but i prefer the facelift model better, the rims and colored brake caliper, more ambient lights all around, all leather seats and the big boy infotainment screen 🔥
Hi there, I’m from Malaysia. I really like Genesis gv80 coupe & gv70. However, Genesis wasn’t available here. Could you please find out if they have plans to come in to Malaysia any time sooner? Thank you!
I'm a '24 GV70 owner and I have to say I'm a bit disappointed in the refresh. I love MLA, new grille, new ambient lighting, but not liking the new oval centerstack. It seems like an afterthought. Wireless charging cubby is an improvement, but most people don't use it anyway (inefficient, hotter than cable charging). The new rectangular screen is a bit out of place in a curvaceous GV70. It's a better fit in GV80. Air vent in the center stack is atrocious -- it screams "Huyndai Elantra". Loss of integrated metal-feel buttons too. The rear brake light is a downgrade. Front "side grin" is uglier. I actually like the rear exhaust tips better. Overall, not enough to upgrade. I'll wait til next gen, or when there's a sale on GV80 Coupe. Yeah, GL with that 😂. That said, if they bring AR and built-in webcam to the US, I might be swayed.
Where are LED Fog light located ? < Why are they missing ? and the most important ( Spare tires ) all major luxury brands are going back with spare tires.
Unfortunately, the European commission mandates to have all these noisy alarms fitted into new vehicles. It is really annoying as hell when the speed limit detector goes off even when you are 1 kmh above. As far as i know, you can mute them, but not completely shut them off. In general, korean cars make alot of unnecessary sounds e.g. trunk opening, closing, door, backup etc. Here in Germany we actually prefer less noise in our cars
I’ve had the 2022 sport/prestige for 3 years and I think it’s better looking than the new one inside and out. That new screen just ruins the interior look IMHO. It’s so out of place.
I wish you were able to get the key fob painted in the body color or the car! Still waiting for the GV80 coupe to get to the US! It's taking forever...
I just saw a post about GV80 Coupe on Genesis USA IG now. The key fob paint surely is something Genesis will offer in the future - I hope. The current black & white is quite nice tho :P
Biggest flaw for Genesis: the 2.5t version does not come with full leather seats but has the soft mesh inserts which looks cheap. Hope genesis fixes this issue with the refresh so we can finally purchase it.
right!! i have that version smh! but mine is black interior and the mesh is black so it doesnt "stand out" as much . but afterwards i was like wtfffff why didnt i notice that before i bought it lol . I just wanted a GV70 so bad!!
Any way this version of the GV70 can be imported into the US? Is that something you can help facilitate? I have no idea if that’s even possible. Also, am I remembering correctly that this will become the 2026 GV70 in the US? We’re 1 year behind the Korean model year? Thanks for your videos! It’s neat to see someone get genuinely enthusiastic about certain aspects of a car; I can relate :)
I have no idea about car exports. I don't think it's even possible to export brand new cars-they likely need to be at least a few years old before being shipped out. It usually takes about six months at the minimum for new Korean cars to appear in overseas markets' showrooms after their launch in Korea. As a Korean brand, Korea usually gets new cars first, unless they are region-specific models. This is actually one of the reasons why I started the channel: to deliver the news faster, if not the fastest, in English to audiences around the globe. What was the most enthusiastic part of the review? I'm curious how my viewers relate to it :)
@@CarSceneKorea I can just tell that you carry a genuine enthusiasm for this car. Specifically, it’s clear (to me at least) that you have an appreciation for little things about a car. And in my opinion, it’s these little things, these little design features, that make up a great overall design of a “car”. They’re the differentiating factors between cars. For example, in this particular video, when you got back in to the facelift, I could see it in your face, when you said, “can I take it back?!” The implication was, this facelift is awesome!! When you talked about the wheels, the charging pad re-placement, when you talked and were explaining the fact that in the gps map, the mountains moved into the gauge cluster space of that 62” screen. The fact that you would even pick up on that is something I would notice too. Well done! And it’s exactly what I’m talking about when I refer to the design language of the car, and how it’s clear that you appreciate the little things like that. As I said, I can totally relate. Your enthusiasm is real, not faked for view count.
Thank you very much for the detailed, thorough reply. I always wish to connect with my viewers - they don't have to be "subscribers" - and I'm curious about how my videos resonate with people on the other side of the screen. I have to admit, my enthusiasm is even higher with N models, as I'm a true N brand fan and a previous N driver :) Once again, thank you very much for taking the time to reply to me; I really appreciate it. I will keep the channel and content going 🚀
Probably not. If you don't see the MLA headlights, they are the pre-facelift models. As for the year model, it typically takes about six months for new models to reach other parts of the globe 🥲
Love the face-lift, don't know if the single panel infotainment was a good idea. Love the new headlights, grille, HVAC controls, and the new steering wheel and keyfob.
The older, pre-facelift tailpipes ware definitely better. Bold and shout 'sport'. As for the interior, the older dash was much better. It looked like it was actually styled and had personality. Grace, and style. Now? -whatever. No different than every other new car and not really executed well. Everyone knows that putting everything in a screen is cheaper than actual switch-gear. I was hoping they would, better integrate the screen, not move to screen-only.
There was no HoD (Hands-on Detection) on the first GV70. The "shake" might be an overkill, but the car does require a torque feedback on the steering wheel to not pop up the msg saying to hold onto the steering wheel, whereas the HoD doesn't require you any of that.
The interior dashboard screen on the 2025 facelift looks tacked-on like it was an afterthought. I'd rather the more classic and bespoke styling of the pre-facelift GV70 (same goes for the G80 and GV80 too). Maybe if Genesis better integrated the OLED screen into the dashboard with a top lip or something I'd like the 2025 model more.
Totally agree--- screens protruding vertically from the dash (the Audi Q5s also have this issue) look like terrible---in addition they are more subject to being damaged if bumped, collect dust and garbage behind, and have no protection from glare. They are also a distraction at night and potentially obstruct the driver's forward vision. It would look much better and be more functional to incorporate the screen within a recess within the dash---looks much more integrated and would not subject to the issues mentioned above. Take a page from the Porsche Macan or Cayenne before the Cayenne went wide screen in 2025. The 2025 GV70 wheels are also too busy....and no need for orange seatbelts...most of these changes are drifting from classy to tacky. Do appreciate the digital rear view mirror option though.
We are considering a new car and the interior beats the X4, Q5 and other cars in this class. Technology too. We want Genesis in Poland! I will be happy to help as much as I can - having experience with Porsche, Mercedes and BMW dealerships :) Best Regards
@@CarSceneKorea wow it looks like it was painful, does the Apple CarPlay map go on the driver display for the refresh? (It’s too bad genesis gave up on the G70 here in the USA it’s getting dated and it’s no more after 2025 nobody understands why, here shockingly it’s the third best selling model (after the suvs of course) with all your talks and connections with Genesis do You know why?)

Term used by Genesis - ASD, Active Sound Design - is there, yes. But that 3.5 does sound nice without the boost :) GV70 Electrified is just around the corner.
I went to look at one of these cars at a dealship. When the sale person showed me the inside of the car somebody had pealed back the paper lined center console. It's all a paper veneer. All the wood in the interior of this car is paper veneer. It's a paper tiger. Garbage. For $70k? Really? I'm now wundering how many other new cars are doing this and why are charging way to much? Not for me thanks.
The facelift is terrible for me, although the technology might be better, and I like the front grill better, the rest is much worse than the old one. Firstly with the rear, changing the exhaust tips on the sport model is colpletely useless as the rounf exhaust gives a much more sporty look, second, the interior had a massive downgrade, first with the center console which is pretty self explanatory, the pre-facelift looked much betger and somehow more unique, removing the old screen is the worst decision for me because it was pretty unique since not many cars have it anymore, and it gave a certain feel to the cabin that the facelift lost and that I loved, the big screen is just crap, although they pulled it off well, I never liked this big screen on any car. This facelift is a massive fail and I seriously hope that Genesis would bring back the old interior. I love the genesis brand and I certainly hope it doesn't fall off like the others, all trying the same thing and losing all their identity.
I rented gv70 for a week and my X7 was getting much better average mpg than gv70 3.5T even though x7 is much larger and heavier. With full tank of gas (21 gallons) x7 can go 650 miles. I prefer B58 and ZF 8 speed combinations.
Forget about the mpg, I'd go with X7 all the way too 🤣 Genesis does really need to work on that fuel economy, but that sure will be solved with the addition of hybrids to their lineups.
I see no compelling reason to buy the new model. I would not want to look thru the steering wheel to see the display. I see no advantage in the console and would rather have the longer arm rest than moving the phone charger. A lot of what he points out in the beginning about power etc is exactly the same. No advantage I see changing the exterior. I would need to drive one to see if I feel any real difference. I have a '22 with all packages.
There is a huge difference between the drive indeed. All fair points you’ve made in the comment which I could relate to and some I’ve also stated in the review.

Are the doors soft close?
Yep!
Looks a absolutely superb car hope it comes to the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 keep up the good work love the videos ❤
Thanks 🙌
The U.S. market will receive the upgrades in 2026. Currently, we have the pre-facelift 2025 model. I personally enjoy using mine, but I must either wait until 2026 or purchase a GV80 coupe with an upgraded interior.
It typically takes about six months for new models to reach other parts of the globe 🥲
Bravo for putting two cars side by side - why don't more reviewers do this?
Updated version looks much better but i miss the drivers binnacle
It isn’t that easy arranging cars together😭 But will ‘em coming!
6:03 The new one (especially in Ceres Blue) is def better. It looks more mature
Agreed! 💯
Great video! Can you confirm if this has wireless applecarplay or android auto? I think previous models you have to physically connect.
Yep, wireless connection for both and is also implemented to HUD as well, but no major info or change on HUD though.
Previous model got wireless carplay and android auto via a software update.
Can the new taillights be retrofitted to the old one? I like the rear indicators in the new one better
I cannot guarantee you anything about such, but feel like there will be ppl trying that out.
i purchased my gv70 Sp3.5 ..becasue it was different then anything else on the road .. but now its slowly starting to look like everything else , the unique rims now look like something you can get off tirerack, the new screen looks like they went threw the kia/hyundai telluride/ palisade parts bin.. the unigue of the vehicle is leaving glad i got my 2023 when i did
Living in the country of Genesis, I still find the first GV70 to be very attractive 🥲
Have you any idea when we will see the upgraded GV70 EV ??
It is being tested around under camo here in Korea, so won't be long!
When is the new face lift coming United States? The website build for 2025 are not one long screen still?
It typically takes about six months for new models to reach other parts of the globe 🥲
i love my GV70 but i prefer the facelift model better, the rims and colored brake caliper, more ambient lights all around, all leather seats and the big boy infotainment screen 🔥
Thanks for sharing, always love hearing from owners 😆
I wish the rear wiper was under the spoiler.
My Dream Car! Any idea when this will be released in US?
It typically takes about six months for new models to reach other parts of the globe 🥲
Great car, great video thx. Do u have infos, when it will be released in germany?
It typically takes about six months to reach other parts of the globe 🥲
Will this be available in the US next year?
It typically takes about six months for new models to reach other parts of the globe 🥲
The face-lift makes it look older
Strongly agree
The rake of the rear hatch on the facelift model looks steeper. Is there less cargo and rear headroom?
I believe they are the same.
Finally i find English language talk about gv70 f/L thanks ❤
Welcome to the channel, I am one of the first to review new Korean cars in English :)
Hi there, I’m from Malaysia. I really like Genesis gv80 coupe & gv70. However, Genesis wasn’t available here. Could you please find out if they have plans to come in to Malaysia any time sooner? Thank you!
While I don't have info about it, I sure do hope they'd arrive soon!
When is the new EV version comming on the market?
G80 Electrified & GV70 Electrified should just around be corner.
the tablet interior just ruins the whole flow
Thanks for sharing your thoughtful insights. I always love hearing constructive criticism; I'm sure Genesis would feel the same way.
I can empathize to some extent, yeah.
I’ve had the 2022 sport/prestige for 3 years and I think it’s better looking than the new one inside and out. That new screen just ruins the interior look IMHO. It’s so out of place.
Surprisingly hearing the similar comments quite a lot!
@@CarSceneKorea what did the post say?
It's all over their IG, Genesis USA:
instagram.com/p/C9bCEb9vn8G/
The new screen and exhaust are nice but otherwise, the differences are negligible
What about the headlights!
Which one do you recommend as a first car? 2024 or 2025v
If the price is not a huge factor, it is always the latest and brand new cars that surpass the predecessor in many ways as shown in the video.
Hi, do you have any information when will the new KIA ceed family come(2025 -2026), and also when to expect the facelifted Sportage?
Sportage facelift test vehicle is currently being tested around here in Korea.
@CarSceneKorea Thank you for the answer, what about ceed?
I haven't heard anything about it yet.
@@CarSceneKoreanot even sure what an N model is!! And now I’m going to look it up :)
Hyundai N. The car is worth looking up :)
Is this 2025 face-lift same as the 2025 models being sold in USA now?
Probably not. If you don't see the MLA headlights, they are the pre-facelift models. As for the year model, it typically takes about six months for new models to reach other parts of the globe 🥲
Love the face-lift, don't know if the single panel infotainment was a good idea. Love the new headlights, grille, HVAC controls, and the new steering wheel and keyfob.
Hope soon they have a hybrid model
Coming!
Current pre-facelift GV70's don't require you to shake the steering wheel to know you have hands-on.
دمت گرم😁
We are considering a new car and the interior beats the X4, Q5 and other cars in this class. Technology too.
We want Genesis in Poland! I will be happy to help as much as I can - having experience with Porsche, Mercedes and BMW dealerships :)
Best Regards
6:49 ouch! what happened to your arm?
Had a big scar and got the big surgery done :)
And now they've announced the face list version will come out as a 2026 in the States. Bummer for sure.
It typically takes about six months for new models to reach other parts of the globe 🥲 But that's quite the delay indeed.
Still no hybrid?
At least they told us it's coming :)
This could have been a 5 to 10 minute video. Very little shown in this amount of time.
Welcome to the channel :) I almost have no video that short.
This 2025 Genesis GV70 SPORT package the "artificial" engine sound inside sounds like there is power (a bit like a "muscle" sound)!. 👍🏻👌🏼😉The "artificial" engine sound inside sounds like there is power (a bit like a "muscle" sound)!. 👍🏻👌🏼😉 SPORT package with Plug-in hybrid EV model, please. 👍🏻👌🏼😉
Term used by Genesis - ASD, Active Sound Design - is there, yes. But that 3.5 does sound nice without the boost :)
GV70 Electrified is just around the corner.
I had a 2023 GV80, I do not like the rotary gear selector. jaguar landrove got rid of them
I went to look at one of these cars at a dealship.
Hate the dash board or monitor. I bought one today because we’re going to be forced to that in 2026…hard pass. Lazy engineers.
I hope the ride won't let you down, well, I know it won't😉
I rented gv70 for a week and my X7 was getting much better average mpg than gv70 3.5T even though x7 is much larger and heavier. With full tank of gas (21 gallons) x7 can go 650 miles. I prefer B58 and ZF 8 speed combinations.
Forget about the mpg, I'd go with X7 all the way too 🤣 Genesis does really need to work on that fuel economy, but that sure will be solved with the addition of hybrids to their lineups.
This review is very inaccurate in comparison to us market.
The specs are indeed different between global markets, I apologize if that wasn't clear enough.
Yack Yack Yack Saying the same thing over and over. Please respect your listeners time.
Thanks for the feedback!

There are other interior designs and materials to choose from as well.
