Thank you for your kind words and support guys! I really want to show you different sides of my country 🙌🥰 You know that I left Russia for some time but soon there will be a video about Chechnya. And I already released some videos about small Russian towns which you might like and you can check out now:

Your videos are educational and you make us laugh with your commentary. I agree the black cat caused you no trains to Moscow in Tula. But we *might* have a gingerbread monument here in the U.S. ahaha. Also, it was so early you forgot to record the train footage. And definitely your neighbor the dog is so cute - no words.

I've been long studying the Great Patriotic War, and Tula was a great contributor to the Soviet War effort during the seige of Moscow and Leningrad, as Tula remained the prime producer of most of the arms and many of the tanks that would later fight for Stalingrad, and drive the 6th Army from the Donnas region. The churches are divine, the monuments heartrending, and the old Soviet Buildings from the end of the Stalinists regime are a staunch reminder of Mother Russia's strong central power. It was a great joy to see with my eyes the things only spoken of in books I've read. Much gratitude for sharing this historical center of Industry.

@@DariStep have had a very extensive study of your country for a long time. Fell head over heels in love with most all of Russia's poets and writer's over time since I will not read just a well-known work, but all they produced. Russia's composer's have long captured my heart, and I own most of their music on LP and CD. Slavic folklore fascinates my imagination with all her spirits, be they of the water or the wood, the presences in every home or cellar, and naturally Baba Yaga incites keen interest. Being an Artist, I also adore Russia's many Fine Artist, and have at times bought works from working artist living there today. I have taken too much time here. Have a great day.

Looks like a cozy city. I heard a lot of interesting historical facts and traditions of Tula: Tolstoy, samovar, pryanik, firearm manufacturing. By the look of it, it’s also quite modern and well-managed. Will definitely go to Tula when I visit Russia!

If you want to know about Lev Tolstoy, go about 15 km southward from Tula to Yasnaya Polyana museum-estate [yAHs-nah-yah pah-lAh-nah] (it means "a clear glade" which is the name of a nearby village). It is one of traditional stops on the route of new-married after the registration of their marriage and the exchange of wedding rings here. Tolstoy's grave is in the forest not far from the estate (he was excommunicated from the Church, but his relatives are buried on the so-called "Necropolis of Kochaki [kah-chah-kEE]" (not far from Kochaki village) near St. Nicolas Church a bit southward).

That's cheap travel - £5 for 3 hrs if I heard correctly (530 rubles?). If I buy a ticket on the same day in the UK it costs £60 for a 2.5 hour journey from my city to London one way or £80 return (cheaper if buy in advance or have a season travel card). Superb to have USB ports on the trains. Did the train have Wifi? Are the trains state-owned or privatised? In the UK the trains were privatised in the 1990s and the ticket prices went up a lot!

    • @DariStep

Yes it’s cheap but you should consider that salaries in Tula are £200-300 per month ☺️

Dari...I always enjoy your videos, and I am a fan.
I understand that sometimes the Russian towns you visit look similar to you, but that isn't the case for your audience. For example, I wouldn't mind seeing the iconography in each church you visit in each separate town. I would enjoy seeing the inside of the shops you visit. What was the inside of the samovar shop like? How about the bakery where you got the gingerbread for your family? And I would guess there is more than one bakery, I would enjoy seeing as many as you would visit.
Tula is a small but not unknown Russian town. I bet there are residents of Tula who are proud of their town, and who would be glad to tell you what they think are the must-see sites and experiences in Tula. Find a new friend. Speak with them, in Russian, about Tula, about what makes Tula unique, and get their thoughts and mood.
You are certainly the star of your channel, and having some guests would only enhance that.

I've only experienced Russia virtually, but I've also noticed that so many city centres look the same. I guess that's the legacy of communism. Having said that, the legacy of capitalism has most cities in North America look the same too. It's so interesting - the same, but different. It's so cool to see how across the planet we develop in rhyming ways. Hopefully we can get past our silly differences and recognize our common humanity and work together on issues that effect us all.

Interesting to see Russia with out the main stream media telling us the establishment point of view of what they want us to think . I think most people from all countries are the same we want peace, its our politicians of all countries that want conflict between countries , when the people want just peace. A very enjoyable video

На английском лучше писать название города так: Toola. А написание Tula произносится [тала]. 😊

Super relieving to see the cordial buskers on the trains. That is a big thing in Latin-america, but they are usually destitute (they are not harassed however because buses in Latin-america are privately owned).

I don't think that is a village. I think it is a defended fort. There is a similar fort in California north of San Francisco, which was the furthest extent of the Russian empire.

You are not interested in museums because you are interested in boys. 😁

You didn't buy any tula ammunition? They are famous for making ammunition for the russian military and they sell ammo to other countries too for a very low price.

Depends where. In Moscow restaurant it is ok but in other cities it is considered expensive.

@@DariStep We can get a steak dinner for $25 to $30 in my city. But I think that will be going up soon the way prices have been going up.
Just curious, have you noticed empty shelves at the stores? It's starting to happen hear.
