There’s not many things more honest and unpretentious than 1970s era ZZ Top. Legit Texas boogie woogie blues & rock n roll. And it stands the test of time.
OMG...FINALLY somebody is reacting to this GEM!!..Good one guys!
Yes! Finally! And so good to hear this again. My BF had the 8 track 😆 I remember turning it up on this song and singing it with him, on our way to the Keg parties many, many times 😎🍺 it was perfect.
@@crimsonclover8314 Love that lol...I hear ya my friend.
Always dug Billy, and Dusty's trading vocal lines, and brutal groove.
This is from their their third studio album, “Tres Hombres” released in 1973.
Yes, you heard two people on vocals - Billy Gibbons (guitar) and the late Dusty Hill (bass) sang co-lead on this track.
Great album imho
Saw them on that tour, they opened for Uriah Heep! Both bands melted our minds. 🎸
GREAT SONG! R.I.P Dusty Hill !!! And yes, Dusty sings on this one as well as Billy .
I wish Dusty had sang more lead vocals, gr8 voice!!!
what year is this?
@spawn4582 Oh, early off their first album, I believe 1970. Don't qoute me on that date.
When Billy Gibbon's was starting ZZ Top, Dusty Hill came in for an auduition. Billy said, "Do you know "Blues Shuffle in 'C'"?" Dusty replied "Yes", and they just started playing. For an hour straight. They never played with anyone else until the day Dusty died.
Not a bad song on this album. Made to be played loud!
As a beer drinker, I approve of this message. ZZ Top is awesome
I wish Dusty would have sang backup on more songs. He was a pretty awesome singer in his own right. RIP my brother from another mother.
My Head's in Mississippi, is another good one
Saw these guys in 73 when I was 18. They were paired up with Deep Purple, my favorite! Remember thinking who are theses three guys making this kind of sound. When they played this track, I was hooked! Thanks guys !
My Heads In Mississippi…… is a must listen ✌️
Saw ZZ In the "70"s, Bob Seger opened up for ZZ and Bob said He was going to not play long because HE wanted to watch ZZ TOO! ZZ was AWESOME!! Jimi Hendrix said Billy Gibbons was a IDOL of HIS !! 😁😍🔥🎸🐐
Yes, sirs; both of ZZ's singers are featured on this one, as a call-and-response. Billy Gibbons 1st and Dusty Hill second, with a chorus on "Baby don'tcha want to come with me?" Turn up indeed!
I saw them perform this live back in the 70's. They were a great live band. Happy memories!
ZZ Top is taking it to the streets again, drinking a brew and hell-raising. Dusty & Billy talkin' the talk and doing the walk.
Yes, that's Billy and Dusty trading vocals. Dusty's got the cleaner, little higher range sound. Billy always sounded like he was 70 years old, old bluesman sound. Listen to the song Tush sometime, great song and a hit, Dusty does the whole lead vocal on it. He rocks it, great singer
“I heard it on the X” would be another rocker.
I was a senior in high school in 1979 and when it came time to vote for a class song, we picked this song. Of course, the strait-laced class officers would not allow it, so we had to vote again. That time we voted for Freebird by Lynyrd Skynyrd, and they didn't like that either, so they just picked one that they liked. When it came time to sing the class song at graduation, hardly anybody sang it. That was almost as good as our senior prank of putting a VW on top of the school's main entrance!
I graduated the same year. It didn't get picked either, but we managed to put "Dazed and Confused" into the final round of voting...
I graduated in 79' as well. We picked, "I want to Live", by John Denver. It passed with no protests! Lol.
Class of 79 sure had some great tunes through high school. 44yrs since graduation and still rockin!
Class of 78. We picked “We Are The Champions “ . Only problem is we had to sing it at graduation. Ever try to sing a Freddie Mercury song? 😂
For me, this is their first best album. By this time, the songwriting and playing had gotten a lot tighter, nothing wasted. Great songs start to finish.
I'll be here around suppertime
With my can of dinner and a bunch of vines
I always thought it was a bunch of ice….😂
@@sea6bear I head vines too. Who knows
@@Frunobulax74 I agree it’s fine, sort of goes better with the previous words in the song as well …
Ok since we’ve solved that lyrical dilemma I have another… Ten Foot pole, towards the end he screams “ you just don’t know what, shame,or shape I’m in” I say shame makes more sense cause he touched it, don’t we all !
@@sea6bear - I think it's shape I'm in. He sounds drunk in the song.
Y’all have to hear “Pearl Necklace” and “Tube Snake Boogie”….then, be blown away that these 2 songs were massive radio-plays!
Their 70's stuff, like this song, was better.
A must. Great suggestion ❤
This time was the best to see them live. They sounded just like the record version but with more soul.
Another down 'n dirty bit of ZZ Top, what a great way to fire up my morning. Rocking out here at my desk with the best damn music channel out there - peace and love, guys!
our band used to open the set up with this one. fun to play. gets people up and dancing.
David Lee Roth era Van Halen used to do this live too. (not nearly as well as ZZ Top did and I am a huge DLR era Van Halen fan)
Banger, plain and simple by ZZ Top. Love it! ✌️
Guitarist Billy Gibbons on the lower gravelly vocaks. Bassist Dust Hill (RIP) onnthe higher vocals. The beardless Frank Beard on drums.
This entire album is non-stop!! My favorite ZZ album.
What can you say about this thumpin' Rocker.
I could write a 50,000-word essay about this song.
The dual vocals are criminally bloody awesome.
The relentless throbbing Bass drives you and the song all the way to fade out.
Frank Beard is one of the finest Blues Drummers in the known Universe, his snappy fill rolls are sublime.
The Guitar is dirty and grungy, with Billy's Lead breaks giving light n shade to the music.
That is what I call a real Rock song.
RIP Dusty!! Greatest grooves and back up vocals for this genre!
Album is one of the best ever compiled. Pure fire.
Do their song Blue Jean Blues. It’s a great slow blues track from one of their best early albums Fandango!!! The recording is excellent!
That was a fairly common thing to say in Texas. My grandfather used that phrase to describe the people who hung out in honky tonks. Thats also jhow he referred to his church congregation.
That's true. It was a colloquial cliche already in Texas. ZZ Top decided to put it to music. And nailed it!
Billy Gibbonbs is a literal Guitar God & Frank & Dusty backing him?? Sheeeeeeet nobody can touch that lineup of Southern Rock of killers! ZZ Top RULES!
That album is badass, from start to finish. The songs Sheik, and Hot, Blue and Righteous are two of my favorites.
Miss ya Dusty! This album isa must own!
One bad ass jam!
That little "Boogie Band from Texas". Can't go wrong with these guys.
They should have done more duets. They both had great voices.
The proverbial theme song to my younger, dumber days 😂. Something tells me I ain't the only one. Long weekend is almost here, lads - almost time to take the Rev's Billy F Gibbons' advice!
Man this is one of favorite jams only zz can bring the dirt like this. That guitar is pure grimy dirt 😮
Billy and Dusty trading vocals, they were incredible!
Great music when you’re driving across the desert ✌️
"Wiggle Stick" and "Love Whip" REVEREND HORTON HEAT it's time gentleman, it's time!
ZZ Top’s early early stuff is gold.
That Texas Boogie Woogie……and then there’s this one! ❤️🎶❤️ great song!
title of song represents me and my buddies in the 70s on weekend nights, rock, booze and girls, always a fun listen , very talented guys..they definately had their niche , check out ...cheap sunglasses.....a classic!
Great Album....¡!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lol, “turn up, get lit and drink your beer”! Another really good one guys!
100 degrees, dirt floor, sweat drippin off ya face that little ole band from Texas always brings it like a freight train! RIP Dusty
Billy and Dusty (RIP) singing on this one..... ZZ Top are awesome particularly up to and including the Deguello album
The songs of my youth! Love it!I remember being a high school freshman riding my bike to the department store to pick up this album when it was released.
Love ZZ Top
ZZ Top"s finest LP!!
Down home banger!
Guitarist Billy Gibbons (Gruff vocals) and Bassist Dusty Hill (higher pitch vocals) did a call and response type vocal for this song. People forget that Dusty Hill sang several of their songs like Tush and Viva Las Vegas,
Thank you gentlemen..one of my favs.
Ahhh, the good old days!!😊
This is my favorite ZZ Top track ever. R.I.P. Dusty Hill 🔥🤘🏻
Tres Hombres - amazing album!
I love me some ZZ Top
Blake in Workaholics called ZZ Top "The champagne of beer-drinking music" and I can't think of a better description.
That was some Texas rattlesnake mixed with BADASS!!
And we're still drinking and hell raising in 2023!
Thanks for sharing fellas! Great reaction!
Tube snake boogie -
A must for all ZZ Top fans
guitar tone just kills.
Yes, the 2 Brothers sing.
ZZ are great fun. When you get a request for them check out their Germany 1980 concert where you can see them perform all the songs you've listened to live and up close. Enjoy your channel..
Love it when y'all react to the common man's band.
My first ZZ album. Bought it new.....
Music done Righteous!!!
Love the way they exchange vocals on this track and the guitar riffs badass and the solo kicks ass!
Man Ya'll are all up in my youth.........................
Hard driving, kick ass rock and roll!
Love this song! One of my favorites from ZZ Top. Great reaction, guys, as usual. Love your channel!
La & Che are the hangout buddies everyone wants to chill and listen to all kinds of music.
Keep in mind that these guys started out playing in joints where they were behind chicken wire like the crazy stuff you see in movies
ZZ TOP all thriller no filler.
Great choice off one kickass album, men! excellent reaction❤️
It's almost time for the Back Door Medley.. Fandango baby!! Side One!!
A must see performance at Crossroads 2010, they do 2 songs, waiting for the bus and Jesus just left chicago...
Billy G (guitar, dark beard, beer drinker) on first vocal, Dusty Hill (bass, blonde beard, hell raiser) on second vocal.
One of my favorites! Guitar bliss. That tone is insane.
Tear it up boys!
Spent the last 3 lunch hours with you guys. Great music great reactions. Peace
So great, so funky. Fun a__sed song. ZZ immediately recognizable. Billy's buzzing blue rips. Damn those were happy times.
Little girl, don’t you wanna come with me!? Play it Laa! Play it Chee!
Aww yea man, the song that ALWAYS picks up the party!
MANIC MECHANIC
Theme Song Fo The Lincolnville Heartbreaker's&Homerecker's Assotition!!!
Kickin Butt Texas style.
Master of Sparks is a good cut from this album well worth a listen
Great cruising tune. I grew up in a beach town and cruising up and down the "strip" on Friday and Saturday nights was big. Slow crawling with this tune cranked....good times. :)
Precious And Grace off that album is a banger.
Cant get enough of that👊
When I saw them in Denver Colorado the song was even faster tempo.
ZZ Top makes me happy! Next listen should be Precious and Grace. It's another blast that will move you. Thank you, sirs.
Hell yea!
This is another GREAT album from them. LOTS of stank on it. As good as Deguello. Check out Hot Blue & Righteous for some great blues guitar. One of my favorite albums of any band 🎸🎸🥁🔥🔥🔥
If you only have room for one ZZ Top album in your collection, Tres Hombres is the one.
ehhhhhhh- Deguello is mine.
NOT that there's anything wrong with this one though.
One of their best, with limited reactions. Hat off to ya'll.
The best song from that album was Master of Sparks. It's about being dragged behind a truck in a steel cage.
One of my favorite ZZ tunes because it does feature the late Dusty Hill voice… along with this being a great road/ party tune
Yeah that’s Billy Gibbons, lead vocals, guitars and Dusty Hill RIP, bass and vocals. Serious party tune! Classic!
