  • Just a quick clip to share my experience on the Tesla Mobile Service to replace my 2021 Model S's Peeling Yoke. The new yoke has a better material, the horn button replaced by camera button, and you can now press the center airbag to hunk, just like any other car as it should have been! lol

    I just had my 2023 MSP's round steering wheel replaced under warranty with this new version, my wheel wasn't peeling though, the trouble I had was that the left turn signal stopped working intermittently 😉😉. As you said, the horn should have always been in the center, why Tesla decided to make it a button we'll never know, definitely a safety issue. Get yours now!

      Hey, I have a 2023 round steering wheel for my model s and I opened a ticket on the app to have it replaced to the yoke. But I just got an invoice from Tesla support saying it's going to cost me $2300. How can I get it replaced under warranty?

      @@tyro64 Thats because you attempting to convert your round wheel to a yoke, unfortunately that's not covered under warranty but you can upgrade your current '23's round wheel to the '24's round wheel w\mechanical center horn. I opened a ticket stating that my left blinker on my round wheel was not functioning, I asked for home service in the app, the tech swapped out the wheel & airbag assy under warranty.

      @@stephen2220 ahh i see, this makes sense. I wonder if my steering wheel is peeling, the round wheel is have, and if they would swap it for the yoke under warranty? Thanks btw for the response!

      @@tyro64 Well if you state in the app that your wheel is peeling, Tesla will ask you to submit a photo! and if in fact your wheel is not peeling Tesla most likely will deny your request. BUT, if you state that one of your blinkers is not working properly you can't possibly provide a photo for that and they will approve your request for a service tech.

      @@stephen2220 gotcha! Thanks for the tip, I’ll try calling the service center and state the same about the blinker, i appreciate the tip! I wonder though, if they will change the round wheel to the yoke, as i would like to try the yoke.. hmm lol

    A tesla advisor told me that if i bought a 2021-2023 model s i wouldnt be able to upgrade the yoke to this new one

      From the technical standpoint, it's absolutely possible. Maybe they only allow it if you have a peeling issue, which is a well known issue.

      @@MrExitStrategy gotcha makes total sense. Also do your screen swivel like the new 2023-24 model s?

    • @MrExitStrategy
      @MrExitStrategy  5 месяцев назад +1

      @@ayyfergy Nope. My car is 2021 and did not come with it. I used it in a loaner for a little while and actually like it in the center better anyway so it doesn't really make a difference for me.

    How long does it take to received the new yoke after you submitted the request?

    Curious - did you simply submit a ticket thru the Tesla app citing a peeling steering wheel or did you use other specific language to get them to replace the steering wheel with the new version?

    • @MrExitStrategy

      Just submitted the ticket as normal saying the wheel was peeled and with a picture showing it.

    the horn-bag slips up when pressing it, is that the actual mechanism? does it work if you just press it or you have to push upward? doesn't look very solid, but it's a tesla what else can I expect

      It works when just pressing it normally. It honestly feels very solid and just like my other cars. I think they did a great job on the build quality of the new yoke, by tesla's standard lol
