Bracknell SIREN FAIL :(

- Throughout all my siren filming, only 75% of visits were successful! Yes, that's one in four visit failures, when the siren did not activate at the usual testing time of 10AM on Monday morning!
Footage here was filmed in 2015.
Why did this fail to sound? Here we are relying on technology that's many years old. Someone said the siren was struck by lightning, however, I believe that's just a story as the siren was working fine in 2017 (so I hear) and they wouldn't have spent any money replacing equipment that had been damaged by lightning. Probably either a telephone cable fault, voltage supply failure, something like that. We will never know!
Watch out for the "FINAL 2018 SIREN TOUR" - see what's remaining and what's gone!
First video here:
• (2018) The last ever B...
Wow I live in England and never knew anything about this.
He filmed the same siren, just drove around to it. Just wanted to get a closer look
Hope someone will save a couple of these CS8s once they go bye bye
Dom757200 Siren K is going nowhere, Heck, it’s actually being used now.
Why did it fail? Walk right up to it and investigate then fix it.

@@mrmattandmrchay There was a siren that was struck by lightning indeed at about.... 4AM. Luckily it went off in All Clear and not escape. It was disconnected, It kept going off for a duration of 3 hours (Until 7AM). Im surprised the siren survived the lightning strike, Lightning striking a siren usually is a death sentence for the siren.
@@mrmattandmrchay So there you have it, struck by lightning indeed.
That's 34 years old
Awesome video mrmatt that hapoend to me when I set the camera up at 11:50 am waiting to film the 11:54 am train service and it was delayed for 2 hours and it came at 1:54pm .cause I wasn't amused because it took me ages to set the camera up to catch the best. View.and it was freezing cold waiting for this train since it's aumtum here in Australia .
Yep! The things we have to do to bring quality youtube videos to fruition! I don't know about you, but I rarely accept "second best" footage and normally go back and refilm lots of things that I'm not happy with! Thanks for the comment
I wasn't very happy the other day because I had filmed a very good train video .and I accidentally deleted it by mistake before I had uploaded it to you tube .
I think the old one will be taken and the new boardmoor siren
A will be placed🤔
If you do a 2018 siren tour, let me know! I'm desparate to hear them properly. Apparently 1 or 2 are gone now, which is very sad news.
Hi, already done, visited 11 out of the 13 siren locations. Editing now, but I've not visited any (yet) at 10AM for a new siren sounding video. Where-about in the country (or world?!) do you live?
mrmattandmrchay I live in Somerset, so not on the doorstep. My friend and I were going to travel up on a bank holiday, well two of those have passed and we've still not done it!
It really annoys me when they bring maintenance into the reason why these need to go. Fair enough, this video shows that faults do occur. But that is more than likely some sort of communication issue, which could occur with any type of system. Looking at these I would imagine there are some contactors for the induction motor, a couple of solenoids for the plenums/intake flaps and a load of wiring. It's probably the comms side of it that's the problem.
Coincidentally, this is one of those now-gone sirens. The tower was in piles behind a fence
What's with the sparks on that train?
Electrical connection between track and train - high resistance contact, so the electricity has to jump a gap which causes all the sparks - probably spectacular at night!
They happen to the tubes everyday
I was focusing on the unusual sparks coming from the axles on that train. Possible slight wheelslip?
It could be but sparks on trains can be common I guess it depends on the rails themselves?
It might be third rail pick up. It’s like the London Underground.a separate electrified rail in between the wheels has the current flowing to it.
siren name:Klaskon cs8
I heard siren B in a distance
there is a footbridge across the tracks close to where you were filming
I actually was also here to know about the siren but the intro that was produced I really wanted that music since it reminds me of going to space and yes I’d love to know more about the tornado siren as we walk through the whole video.
thanks for the comment. Email me at mattw.youtube@virginmedia.com and I'll send you the music.
Awesome thanks so much I just send you an email you should receive it from me.
No worries :) Ive replied
And bye bye to the old one 🤗🤗🤗
The tracks appears to be lighter to the train's needs.
