Well done :-D It seems that the outer seals and bearing seals failed due to age. Then the evil water invaded the bearings lol. I bet the ride is much nicer now, well worth the effort :-D A long time ago a friend wanted to replace the brake disk on his aprila bike. i had to do it as my friend was useless like some friends are ha ha :-D The dome bolts that held the disk to the aluminium wheel made me swear a lot. I'm sure aluminium and steel don't like each other. After the swearing i got the bolts out, then cleaned the threads and a light smear of oil before putting the bolts back in. The wheel didn't fall off ha ha :-D The dome bolts on your friends/brothers machine reminded me of the pain they can be. I hope when the disk needs replacing on your friends bike, the dome bolts play nicely :-D Sorry too much text.
Thanks : ) Those bolts were a pain in the butt once,we had to remove them for i don't remeber what. Yes they don't mix well with the wheel,and the pattern is not that deep so you have a tendency to damage the heads lol I don't know who is the responsible for that choice of bolts but i'm sure he had good reasons to do so,even if i don't get it myself lol I got one wheel felling off once on a car,i didn't remove the paint in the bowl where the conical bolt seats in, and the wheel loosened its elf hahaha ! I know now why all poweder coated,painted ,and surfaces treatments aree not present in those locations lol
@@michaelovitch You know your wheel is loose when everyone in the street stares at you lol, the bolts are escaping lol 😀 My friend was very lazy and one day his old morris minor car started making bad noises. A frend took the hub caps off and there were nuts rolling around the inside, he was very lucky ha ha :-D The taper nuts were fine, he was a lazy sod!! lol.
Bonjour, petite question, savez vous si les jantes de vfr 800 vtec 2002 - 2013 son compatible pour les vfr 800 fi de 1998 - 2001 ? Sur la doc qu'on retrouve sur parts-bike la seul différence que je vois c'est le collier d’écartement d'axe qui est différents et l'axe, si je met le collier du fi dans une jante de vtec je ne devrais pas avoir de soucis d'autant plus que je ne vois pas la différence entre les deux :/ ou peut-être les colliers latéral/ entretoise ? Bonjour, Je ne sais pas et je ne veux pas donner des infos erronées. Il faut disposer des 2 jeux de roues et tout comparer : Pour l'avant il faut comparer les diamètres et longueurs des axes l'écart entre les disques de freins et leur diamètre. Pour l'arrière il faut comparer le déport éventuel des bords de jante par rapport à la surface en contact avec le moyeu. Pour les deux,il faut aussi comparer le diamètre des roues,et l'entraxe pour l'arrière. Il faut faire en sorte en tout cas que tout soit centré et symétrique axialement par rapport au châssis même si on adapte un peu.
Si on respecte les couples de serrages avec une clé dynamométrique on se rend compte qu’à la main on applique souvent des couples beaucoup trop important.
