I would recommend that you crisscross your fork tubes using sandpaper to ensure that you are not removing too much material and end up with undersized tubes that will end up leaking through.

That looks like an aftermarket cartridge kit that someone put in those forks. It should have been just a damping rod set up, basically a metal tube with holes. That 15wt oil may be too thick for that cartridge setup, and you may have to use 5wt or 10wt. Depending on when the kit was made, it may require 10 or 5. In the 80s, it was common to use 10, but by the 90s, 5 became the norm. Try to see if you can see a brand name or part numbers. Those aftermarket setups call for different oil levels, too. If not, you're going to have to do a lot of trail and error. If it's a ruff ride, you may have to change the oil weight until it's smooth. You dont want it to be bottoming out the forks on small bumps, but you also don't want it jar the bike disrupting the chassis either. Suspension should absorb the bumps and maytane tire contact as much as possible. Hopefully, this helps you out.

isn't there too much black? I think rubber corrugations on the fork could be bought in a different color!)

Hate to be a negative Nancy but the paint will never hold up on the top of those chrome fork tubes and fork tops. Your better off having them rechromed or buy good replacements.

why not? he sanded them to bare metal , primed and painted them. and the travel doesn't even reach that high.

@@Marco-qe5zw chrome is bare metal but you can’t paint it. There is no way he was able to remove all of the chrome and even scratched up chrome Doesn’t accept paint well especially the one part stuff in rattle cans. Plus your sliding them into those tripple trees. If you look close at the end just screwing on the fork caps has already started taking off the paint.

Those look great. Too bad nobody makes a carbon fiber insert for the light panel thingie. That woodgrain 70's Pinto station wagon sticker doesn't do it justice.

Use a ratchet instead of impact and you won’t have to use the extractors. And they like to break…

You work so A to B. Painting needs curing time; and I realise video may not show that.
