I have the same modem ordered, but ive been reading about an activation date, i already have a ISP so the line is in use, am i okay to just set it up like you did or do i have to get an activation date?
A year ago i moved into a rented housing association flat and although i'm good with tech i couldn't get the router plugged into the BT Openraech socket. When the BT guy arrived it turned out somebody had ripped the wire out and left the old plug in the socket !
Can I ask on which Vodafone package are using, eg fibre broadband or a standard internet broadband?
Thanks bro u r the life saver
Very good price monthly aswell
Thank you bro made my life easier👍
you welcome bro! keep in touch with subscribe!
What speed were you getting???
Thank you for this helpful content.
You're very welcome!
Have you enjoyed your new Vodafone service in general since you left BT? I'm thinking of doing the same, but I know there are mixed opinions on the Vodafone service.
it's absolutely brilliant !! there is no issue till now since I got it. but once in a while sometimes buffer as the BT same used to do before.
Thanks for this very helpful video! I'm getting the pro package with apple TV and also WiFi booster so looking forward to when it's up and running next week.
I left BT because I was paying too much for infinity so with Vodafone I'm saving. Do you get the same speeds with Vodafone as when you had bt?
Has Vodafone broadband ever slowed down? I hope I'll get same speeds as bt but I'm not sure. My infinity has slowed down a bit over few years as when I first got it it was faster.
Thanks for the video!
Hi, I am very pleased to know that you liked this video. Also i appreciate your time. I really do.
To be honest bd is always best as i knew but game has changed since i have got this Vodafone. I would not say vodafone is best from my experience. But vodafone always been stable in connection and speed. Also the are very cheap compare to other leading broadband provider. This time i am only paying £22 per month only for the broadband. But recently i realised their upload speed is not as high as BT. Specially in the night i am struggling with uploading speed.
However, i hope i would see you around here. Hope you would subscribe to my channel. Thanks
WAN stands for wide area network, mostly -your path- to the internet :)
Always use new cables mate .You would be surprised how many old cables have damage to then .good vid thanks
thanks Mate ! you are 100% right!!!
Agree on that also use new filter too.
Thanks, I will be sending this to my girlfriend it will help her lots

Wait did you insert the wifi and lan cable into the blue ? Like the one with the yellow and blue calbe
Can I ask a question in the event log for this router is it full of red events? Firewall and system events. Mine is mainly red and I'm wondering if that is normal.
hi, would you be able to explain it bit more . thank you.
@@thepcphone yes. If you go to your event log for this router do you see some red mssfix errors? Also what is the first 5 digits of the routers serial number. I wonder if I have a faulty router
@@thepcphone also my superframes downstream is constantly at 0 is yours?
@@thepcphone can I ask in the event log for this router do you get mssfix errors?
What happens when you reset your broadband on activation day?
You know, I'm shopping around for home fiber broadband right now. Signed up for Sky Broadband and awaiting an engineer visit next week. Dunno if that was a good idea. But I'd like to ask what makes Vodafone different from the likes of BT/EE/Sky/Plusnet? Would you say their broadband is stable and reliable? broadband?
Honestly there are no much differences.1st of all I would like to say, I don't advertise anything in my channel. every single video that you see in my channel, this is all just from my own hobby and interest. let's get to the point Internet Speed dependent in location. Some areas Virgin is better, some areas vodafone is better, and most of the areas B T Is the best. To find out better please check in your area which one is best? Anyway thank you so much for your Comment and please Subscribe to my channel to support me if possible!take care!
You see We rent in a 6th floor flat in a modern building in East London. Almost all ISPs are available in my postcode apart from Virgin Media which they said will be up and running in a fortnight. But how would I know if the broadband goes FTTP? I heard from most people I spoke to Sky is worse in broadband speeds. Then I read a report from Ofcom that before and during the pandemic the worse with complaints was Vodafone and Sky and EE are joint for least. As we are renting any drilling involved is a no-go so I've taken out Virgin Media and Hyperoptic. With Vodafone I get some discounts as a key worker. With Sky they are stingy. The engineer is coming next week and our Sky router has arrived. And I assume they always send the latest WiFi router i suppose but dunno which ones offer a much stable and consistent service and customer support overall.
@@TechNomadUK1 I would say bt always more stable from my own experience but they are expensive. Sometimes they do best promotions.
Thanks
@@TechNomadUK1 there is no real difference in normal broadband. The biggest difference is with fibre broadband. They all promise fiber but if that company have not installed actual fiber cable from the street cabnet to your street then its not actually fiber broadband. This week vodafone installed the purple fiber cable right along my street so I rang them up and asked them what speed they could actually guarantee I would get. They told me from next month I was guaranteed to get at least 68mbps so I ordered it there and then. I also reminded them that the phone call was being recorded so if they couldn't provide those speeds up to 75% of the time in the first month then I would have the option to cancel without any charge! My current provider gives me 25mbps at best and are charging me the same amount as the deal I got today. Luckily my contract ends next month.
Vodafone is real chancer with phone cables when most Wi-Fi routers have fibre link up or Ethernet cable. With price of 45 euros per rate month.
Great concept.
Fibre is smaller than the phone cable. I'm getting 910 up and down from it! 😂
I have exactly the same hub/router on my Vodafone wired internet, I am upgrading to Vodafone fibre soon, they use the same hub, can I leave my existing hub in place to allow all my settings/connections to remain the same? Many thanks
I think you can if they are not providing any new router for the fibre broadband.
@@thepcphone They will be providing a new one but it will be exactly the same as I already have.
If it is the same model, then you may carry on with the old one and keep the new one for the future if in case this gets any hardware issues.
man has a pic of himself as the wallpaper haha
haha!! brilliant ! how did you get me??
Had ours installed this morning expecting great things but it’s as rubbish as the bt one slightly faster on upload
Bt is normal broad band this is fibre and there’s very little difference
@@Tooma1979 Vodafone is fibre to the cabinet (roadside) to my knowledge, the problem is that between the cabinet and the customers home is still 2 thin tiny wires, and you can only get so much to travel down them (just like water in a pipe, the wider the pipe the more water that can travel through). It's also like speaker wire, if you use thicker wire, the sound can improve quite a lot (obviously it still depends on specifications and capabilities of the parts in the speaker and the hi-fi).
@@eamonnmulligan3839 cheers for the polite replie Vodafone dug trenches to every single house on our estate the fibre optic cable runs from the green cabinet up our street down our drive and directly into our home I hope this helped
How was the speed compared to BT since you had it for 5 months now
I got faster speeds than BT mate
Good Work
NASIRUDDIN SUNNY is the signal good the WiFi I mean..!
@@Marce031979 depends on where u put the router in hmyour house the further away from u the less signal also the weather also might block signals for ex on a stormy day
Does it open that Vodafone pop up each time you connect?
No, not really!! It doesn't show me any popular like the BT!!
Please tell the installation and router charges total and then the monthly charge
the monthly charges depends on your contract and according to your subscription that you have. For me the first 18 months was 27 pounds and after the upgrade now it is only 22 with the same speed. Please do speak to Vodafone clearly before you get any contract, otherwise they are smart with the small print.Hope you would subscribe to see you around my channel! Thanks
Stay well clear of Vodafone is you are using smart equipment
Do I wait until my old broadband has stopped working
Your new broadband provider would give you a spefic time when you should connect the device!
Wen I’m standing next to voda router
Response time is 185ms
Download speed. 29.6 mbps
Upload speed is 27.9
On our normal bt router (non-fibre) standing next to it
Response time 184 ms
Download speed 25.5
Upload speed 9.5
Vodafone bragged it’s ten times faster than normal broadband but it’s only just as good as our old broadband and the range of this voda fibre router is rubbish I took the data standing next to it is ours broken ?
speak to them never-give-up explain what you are facing with the speed and connection problem.
no vodofone just sucks
Christopher Thomas how much are you paying
How many devices can it handle
honestly it does take more than 7 or up to 10 from my experience. but the signal are bad . BT broadband is the best for signal strength.
virgin media also one of the best but the optic fiber is not available all over the UK.
I am on my Vodafone activation day, and it's nearly midnight and the internet light is still flashing red, very frustrating. My landline is fine.
Please give the router a restart !! Hope the issue will be resolved!! Good luck 👍
@@thepcphone I have restarted, I have reset it, I have tried my sky router 3 times throughout the whole day as well. Vodafone router still flashing red light, Sky is just blank. All I have now is my landline and mobile phone.
@@eamonnmulligan3839 sorry to hear that, when you connected sky did it work?? If it did thats mean your sky is still active for the broadband service, sometimes it takes 1 day more or less. It happened to me at the beginning of the vodafone broadband contract!! Thanks
@@thepcphone Sky was working when I was with them until the early hours of yesterday morning (activation day). I tried my sky router 3 times when Vodafone took over my landline as there is a dialling tone, it had been disconnected from Sky. I have no broadband at all, neither router picks up any internet. I rung Vodafone this morning,
She asked for the router serial number, it matches what they have on the system.
I was put through to a man as well and they both said it was activated at their end.
An Openreach engineer will visit 23/11/20. My line has been fine when I was with SKY.
He can see the router when he runs a check at their end.
The router hasn't accepted the broadband from the beginning.
I suspect it's a problem with the router, I just wish they'd send another one.
Good news, I have Vodafone Broadband. :) The Openreach engineer visited today and discovered that they hadn't physically changed the wiring in the box outside nearby hence no internet. I was still connected to SKY (although not active). It was only my phone line that got switched on Friday 20/11/20. It's amazing how the Vodafone 2nd line support man on Saturday said that he could see my router at his end..... How? I was connected to SKY at that time. I am getting about 8.5mb/s download speed far from 60+. My package is supposed to be "Superfast 2", doesn't feel any/much quicker than my standard SKY package...
Speed test?
Speed depending on your area speed or 📍
My internet light has been flashing white for a while now
How can we get Vodafone broadband connection
Try to call 'em!
Happy with Voda?
I have had many complaints about the speed and customer services.
My light is flashing red what do I do
Check all the physical connections first. Contact customer service if there is no success.
@@thepcphone okay I tried that it seems all physical connections are secured ima call customer service
I saw your addresse.....
My internet is still flashing red
Vodafone WIFI is the most pice of shit WIFI ever
This router is utter garbage. AVOID!!
you are right!!!Hope see(subscribe) you again in my channel.
