@@EllieMaes-Grandad I wouldn’t worry too much as 2007 is a continuation of the class and not a replica (there’s another society going a Bugatti front two of Cock O the North). 2007 will have the V2 style pony truck the class should have gotten to help with steering around corners. 🙂
the raw metal shiny coupling rods and tires make me feel light headed, imagine an entire Steam locomotive out of polished steel mirroring a forrest or the sky... i bet that would look abloslutely amazing. also this Engine looks incredible already, great work!
An incredible standard of engineering here, truly inspirational!!!!! I simply cannot wait to see her out and about on the main line and heritage railway's and hopefully the NYMR As a covenentor it's much appreciated!!!!!! Many thanks for sharing
The piping and welding that has to be done to make these beasts is insane, just look at engines like flying Scotsman, another lner engine these locomotives have marked our rails with their great power, well done boys
Being a midland man it’s not my favourite type of locomotive. But what a beast she is. It’s a credit to the men and women working on such a complicated machine 👍🏻
just like to say its really a december update, it was 9/12/22 when you uploaded this, also Prince Of Wales is coming on so nicely and this video is just outright amazing
Lovely video and the drone footage makes is as though you were looking at it yourself. She certainly is looking good and I cannot wait to see her on the mainline....Hope she runs in Cheshire.👍🤞
Very nice, that's coming from a Paraffin burner fan. I have one concern over the spoked wheels that seemed to have been ground down one looked very small compared to the others, has someone gone crazy with an angle grinder for weight reduction or am I seeing it wrong?
Magnificent. The shine on those coupling rods, and the tyres. But shouldn’t there be a steamy thing between the black bit at the front and the crew workspace.
Lovely fly about DLW but not really an update. When is the boiler arriving, and been offered up would be nice to know? And fitting of the cylinder block? How construction of the tender frames going and when they are to be partnered up with the tank?
A lot is going to happen next year. First, Tornado's boiler returns to DLW, is steam tested and re-clad and then sent to Loughborough. Then the fully-machined cylinder block will be delivered and trial-fitted in the frames, if all goes well, the P2's boiler will then arrive (in the Spring) and could be dropped straight in the frames. The tender frames are nearly complete, these will delivered to DLW and wheeled, then the tank will be fitted. All this is going to cost a lot of money! Hint!
@@thep2steamlocomotivecompan19 thank you for the reply, looks like summer should be an ideal time to visit DLW and no hint needed, already onboard as a A1SLT volunteer and looking forward to having 2 locos to chose from to represent on our tours

What a stunning video of a proud locomotive. A credit to all involved in her funding and construction. I'm sure Gresley would be proud.
What a nice presentation with good music and high class camera work.... The locomotive looks like a work piece executed in the best of traditions...

We need a boiler!!!!! Love the polished wheels and connecting rods.
It should be on it’s way from Germany soon.. they estimated that they should have the boiler by late 2022 - early 2023

At 2:14 ?
How tf do the wheels look different in size they literally look identical
Awesome I hope this beauty can run
Very good 👍 Thank you ❤
Can’t wait to see this beauty storm down the mainlines
Fantastic.
This is aerospace standard work. I did forty years on gas turbines at Rolls-Royce, so I know it when I see it.
Absolutely awesome!

Yup! I think it is to be identical with that of Tornado.

wonder if there is a way to make steam more efficient than electric...

Please, run it up to Aberdeen! ( when ready)
Prince of Wales will soon be starring in fan made Thomas videos on RUclips.
When she is finished will she be running railtours or on heritage railways?
Both. Like Tornado, Great Central has played a big part. So that's where she'll have her trials. Once she's passed those, it's mainline railtours.
@@mlp-hot-rod5824 That will hopefully be late 24 to mid 25 when she is finished.

Wow!
Does the trailing bogey under the cab move when going around corners and on points?
What do you think it is a Hornby 00 Gauge Locomotive
The cartazzi axle box system was explained in a previous video I believe. It’s not like a normal axle box. Ignore mr Hornby over here
Would they be allowed to try and beat Mallard's record with the P2?
So nice! I'd hate to take outside!😉
No HS2 but we can still build steam locomotives 😮 strange but true!
Keep it up!
When are cylinders being cast ??
The cylinders have already been fabricated.
LET'S PHAKING GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Boiler: nope
I cant wait for this steam train
It's a locomotive - a train is what it pulls . . .
Is it at Darlington like Tornado?
Yes
The P2s were designed to operate between Edinburgh and Aberdeen and were given names from Scottish history ... ... so why "Prince of Wales"?
When will the boiler arrive
Early next year.
When boiler
When is the boiler going to be done.
They ordered PoW’s first boiler and Tornados second boiler back in 2019 and it both should be in Darlington for 2023
