I saw a man in my town mowing grass almost knee high with a regular push mower. I couldn’t help but laugh every time it stopped/jammed on him. It reminded me of me 30 years ago.
I had to do that a couple of times myself when our old lawn and garden tractor broke down and we could not get the grass mowed before it rained! LOL Now I try to keep the grass to manageable height. Speaking of kubota Regens, our M7060 has it’s 3rd regen yesterday at 76 hours. I had been running it WOT most of the day pulling a 2-row sprig planter planting a hybrid Bermuda grass hay field. The regens take about 20 minutes but I can’t believe it’s had 3 already.
Honestly that’s kinda concerning not really from an issue standpoint but i wonder if Kubota isn’t running these engines as lean as they should to help with regen
Nice tractor and setup. I traded up my kubota L2501 to a different brand and haven’t missed that hydraulic whining sound since. However, I still think about that tractor every now and then 😂
Tim, I think that hydraulic kit isn’t the right one - and that’s a dealer issue. I’ve never seen a Kubota set up like that, and certainly never with 1/4” couplers. There are several prior comments that confirm this. Moreover, the first regen in under 15 hours is bizarre. While I have a different model (L4060), my first burn was just under 50 hours and took 13 minutes. And for the record, my rear SCV’s are mounted on a rack up where they are very easy to access. There is at least one other comment below with your same model who has a similar easy-access rack with 1/2” couplings, so that reinforces it being a dealer issue. I know most of your viewers bleed green but I did a year of research and testing before I bought my Kubota L4060, and I couldn’t be happier. Both manufacturers make good products (remember that Kubota created and still leads the compact tractor market) so it’s unfortunate when you seem to have a “Friday” unit.
Tim keep the bucket down as low as possible all the time, when you lay one of you tractors on its side because you keep them to high I pray you don’t get hit.
Now that's a pretty slick set up there. Also another thing that gets over looked when getting a tractor is placement of the rear aux hydros. Good insight bud
After watching your channel I have realized how well a flail mower cuts with all the ditches and things around here I think it would work better then any brush hog really impressed with what it can do
Why was your front loader so high while mowing the ditch? I have a Kubota B2630 and I have had the rear wheel off the ground several times, and scares the you know what out of me. I always keep my front loader as low as possible!
We have an LX2610, and have a Del Morino offset flail. Our dealer set up the connectors on the hydraulics to match the Kubota 1/4” ones. I also have a hydraulic top link I can use when not using the mower (since the mower uses up my hydraulics). The DelMorino doesn’t have the same setup on the hydraulic cylinders. But I’ve got a float function available on the tilt-down on the mower which I use most of the time. I hear you on the ditch mowing. It’s at times pretty exciting. I have used the tilt-down to add support to the tractor in some tricky situations to help keep the tractor from feeling like it’s too close to tipping. We live in a Kubota region, which is obvious if you drive around and see what is used on most of the farms and larger homeowner properties.
I have an LX3310 and am looking at getting the Del Morino offset flail mower to cut ditches with. How does yours do since the dealer left the 1/4 inch tractor couplings but changed the mower couplings to 1/4 inch ?
As with a skid steer mower, I wonder if the manufacturer ever gave thought to making that mower attach to the front of the loader arms? As for the tippy issue. carrying a bucket of dirt/sand/gravel, and keeping the bucket as low as possible, helps a lot.
In an orchard situation, we used to run over shelterbelt pruning( plenty or 3 and 4 inch timber) with hydrostatic transmission very easy to control ground speed, ran over everything , anything not mulched could be picked up tossed out of mown area to keep orchard tidy. After a number of years of this , only a couple of flail mounts needed to be rewelded to drive drum. This was a 6ft flail mower driven by a 20hp hydrostatic 80's international 4wd. A decent flail mower is crazy tough, yet can be used to manicure a reasonable lawn. After I left home (moved 350 miles) my old man mowed the half acre house orchard lawn with it which I had mown by hand for the previous 10 years
I was watching a video of adding a 3rd function valve on a Tym 264 tractor. Flip the seat up and the valve mounts right under the seat and puts the hookups up high like you wanted on the Kubota . Really easy for a DIY.
Hi Tim. Hank from Nebraska here. I have a lx2610 and my beaker added the rear scv's on my tractor that are iso A couplers. They are mounted up high like your talking about.
Hi Tim, I really think your dealer screwed up your rear hydraulics option.. In that location you were thinking they should be.. Also, my kit DID come with the 1/2" ISO AG couplers.. I will take a photo and message it to you on your FB page, so you can see.. Another excellent video Tim & Christy.. ;-)

@@terrybenson3632 I went through the Kubota parts diagrams, and what I found is that there is two different options for "U94501 Auxillary Control Valve Coupler". B7316 is what they use on the Cab model and B1654 for the open station. I am working with my sales rep Nick (who has been fantastic) who is working with the service manager and head technician to see if the cab version can be installed on my LX3310HST. I think Tim is correct in his observation that it should mount fine on the horizontal brace above the 3 point hitch in a manner that would provide plenty of clearance. The same coupler bracket from the cab kit would make a really nice, clean set-up. Oddly enough it appears that the cab model uses 1/2 inch ISO while the open uses 1/4 inch. Possibly due to the the clearance issues on the collars Tim encountered? Coincidently, I am buying the tractor from Messick's Equipment in Elizabethtown. This is a great opportunity I think for a really positive exchange between the customers, dealers, and possibly the manufacturer to customize the experience and product to suit the buyers needs. Hi, I have been watching your videos for a while now (nice to see you with a Kubota) did you find it tippy mowing the ditch? I notice that your mowing with your bucket quite high, I think that I will be getting one of those offset mower soon. I just traded my Grand L3940 (it was to heavy for me to truck it around) so I bought the Kubota Lx2610 with cab front loader and backhoe and I have added everything on it including 3rear remotes and also a 3th function valve on the front loader. When will you do a comparison with your John Deer 2038? Gilles in Moncton New Brunswick Canada
So funny! I was thinking he better watch out for that shroud and then I remembered you damaged a hose and then you mentioned you didn’t get any calls last year😂. I really like that mower. Looks stout. Just don’t have a need for it 😭 Oh, Happy Mother’s Day Christie! Hope I spelled it correctly.
So the rear remotes on my cab LX3310 is up high. Messick might had used a non Kubota kit, and that is why it is hard to get to and did not have the 1/2 in couplings.
My L 3310 went through regen at 15 hours 35 hours and I believe somewhere around 60 hours I currently now have 97 hours on it but it has not hampered me in anyway with tractor performance or slowing down my work when it goes through regen I thought it quite odd as well to regen so early and frequently But now I also run at full throttle most of the time to keep the engine and systems heated up keep us up-to-date on yours I like to compare and see what is normal or not
Tim I know the bucket is empty, but as we all learn we are creature's of habit. The higher the bucket the high the center of gravity. Your front bucket appears to be 3+ feet off the ground in most of the video. Also when I worked for a city we had a weights on the far side of the tractor for counter balance.
Nice video showing the offset flail. The box comment really had me laughing, my company does alot of roadside highway mowing and we hit some interesting stuff. For future reference, avoid life jackets, they make a HUGE mess. Some things are kinda fun to mow over though.
The rear hydraulic placement is interesting because Gordon at GP OUTDOORS has a LX2610 and the rear hydraulic connections are stacked right where you said you would like them. Very easy access. This seems that it might be a dealer option configuration. I was wondering what a more local dealer would say if you asked them. Maybe you could pick up a setup for the LX 2610. The ones I have seen you just push the hose fitting into the tractor receptacle and just pull on the hose to get them out. There is no sleeve to pull on. I don’t know what those are called, but they work fine. I got my Maschio all mounted and ready to go but it is raining the morning; so, maybe tomorrow. Again, thanks for showing that product.
The tractor looked pretty stable to me even though the bucket seemed high. Maybe he did it for a reason? Clearance for getting in and out of the ditch, plus he probably has rear ballast etc.... he even mentioned the tipping hazard inthe video. Even without the bucket it would still a hazard if not more due to the bucket adding weight. Maybe be was testing how high you can have the bucket when on a slope? I'm sure he had a good reason because he seems like a safe operator in all his videos. There are times when I had to have the bucket in a position that wasn't recommended but I was still safe and cautious. As a operator you have to know how safe you can do things when you might have to bend the common sense rules at time. Maybe he will give us a explanation. But from what I saw, he seemed pretty safe.
Tim I know this video is a few days old, so not sure you will read this. But can you give a little feed back to those suggesting you lower your EMPTY bucket. I'm no engineer or expert at this, but if my tractor is substantially more tippy if my loader and its empty bucket is 3'-4' off the ground, I haven't set it up properly. I wonder with all of those that are commenting, if their tractors might need beet juice, wheel weights, front/rear ballast, wheel spacers, etc......?? Great video as always!!!!
My FIL’s Kubota L3901 regens while we mow. The light comes on, we bump up the idle and keep going. That said, if I get the Blessing of being able to buy my own tractor, I’d like to get a JD.
I don't understand why they put the rear remotes way down there. I had a B3350 (older version of the LX) for a couple years before I got my L4760. I also had 2 rear remotes but they were located way up by the seat. I'm not sure if that is because I had the backhoe attachment but they were certainly more convenient to use than where yours are located. They also came with the standard ag connections. Still waiting to hear what the nickname is going to be.
I’m impressed in general with the job the flail mower does, let alone the flexibility with that model. Thanks for the demo showing the the features of the offset model. Blessed Mother’s Day to Christy! Thanks for the great videos you both do!
I've asked Tim what the slope is on that ditch a couple of times, but never got a response. I have a B2650 with cab, and I don't believe I would dare drive at that angle with the extra 700 pounds of cab above the center of gravity.
@@TractorTimewithTim Thanks Tim. 25% is ~14 degree slope. It sure seems steeper than that. My pucker factor kicks in at 18 degree (~32%) on my property.
@@D-Allen part of our orchard was quite steep, until we got a small 4wd tractor, we used an old full size 2wd farm tractor which I orchardised( turned rim dish in not out, attached rim dish to outside edge of rim not inside edge) narrowing track by about 3 feet. On flat ground it felt tippy, not flat ground, not so good.... In the steep block to mow the rows, you aimed about 45 degrees to the row and clawed sideways the entire row, interesting in the dry, downright brown pants material if it was damp....
The mention of regen is a good thing in my mind when looking to purchase a tractor. Might be a good topic to have Neil and some others on with. I'm curious how much exhaust fluid is consumed by each tractor and how big the def tanks are. I'm shocked a regen takes that long on a compact tractor. I'm used to five minute regens from the large trucks I drive.
Well obviously the tractor is the wrong color, green ones are always perfect. Safety tip for you Tim from a guy who spent years mowing state ROW with 15’ mowers. Keep the bucket LOW when mowing on slopes! The state wouldn’t allow us to mow with loader tractors at all.
Has Messicks got back to you about your rear hydraulic issue? I know you mentioned it to him when you went to get tractor. Salesman talk don’t mean nothing if they don’t make customer happy with a concern mentioned at the moment of sales. Keep us informed if things are made right by dealer. Keep the videos coming. Central Maine Dan..
Hi Tim, I was not sure what size that flail mower was that you were using. I see they make a 47,55 and 63. What size do you think is best for a 2038R in your opinion? Obviously they get heavier the larger they are but also if you mow directly behind your tractor you want to cover most of the width. Your thoughts?
Great video as always and super helpful to a new LX2610 owner. Finding info/part #s on the rear remotes is surprisingly difficult, let alone finding pertinent RUclips content, so thanks. Also, I'm curious...watching your lean angle while you were riding the side of the ditch with the mower extended was nerve rattling. The height of the bucket seemed counter-intuitive to me...I would have imagined it would be down as low to the ground as possible? I'm a newbie, so I ask out of inexperience...just wondered what the strategy was?
Curious if thats a Kubota rear remote kit or not. Seems factory kits are holding up delivery and dealers are subbing out for readily available ones. My pre emissions B2920 really smokes when working it hard, turns my front mount snowblower black. Kubota must really dump fuel to them.
Looks like your dealer didn't install the correct rear hydraulics kit. Mine look nothing like that. About the regen - mines done one regen in 120 hours. Dealer recommended I operate it in 1800-1900 rpm range. Seems to work great.
somebody else may or may not have pointed out but lowering your front end loader would help keep your center of gravity lower as well reducing the tip factor
Tim why did you go with the Kubota? Kioti ck3510 comes standard with those has more lifting capacity better seat, tighter turning radius, better hydraulics has a lot more options that come standard. In your Kioti video you really seemed to like it? I do own a Kubota zd21 had it for 17 years with no issues I love it just seems like you get more bang for your buck with the Kioti and everyone loves them.
You should never use galvanized or black pipe on hydraulics as they are not rated for the pressures. When they go they may explode and hurt someone. You should get hydraulic rated fittings for your own safety. Galvanized is for water and black for Gas only.
Tim, Just saw the video, I have a 3301L. You mentioned it was light on the left-hand side in the ditch while mowing, but you seemed to have your bucket awfully high which probable made your center of gravity off. You mentioned that the hydraulic female connections were not correct for the attachments you were using. I was wondering if you mentioned to Neal at the Kubota dealership what type of attachments you had to ensure that they placed the correct ones on? Seems odd that they would put connectors on it that were not standard to current implements that would be connected to compact tractors. Cheers.
Great piece of equipment. Myself, I think I would rather have the flail more attachment from Ventrac and go that route. I agree with the others as you do a great job working with various equipment on compact tractors. Lastly, and most importantly, happy mother's Day to Christie and we all are appreciative of the great camera work she does to share these videos with us!
It is a shame Kubota didn't do a better job with the rear hydraulics, I agree those are in an awkward location and that they should all have the same standard couplers. The flail mower looks amazing.
Found these on eBay. If you don't mind running hoses from your valves to these breakaway couplers, they should allow you to mount them on the rear support bracket like the LX cab models are. www.ebay.com/itm/TL39-B-Hydraulic-Quick-Release-Coupling-1-2-NPT-double-break-away-bracket-Set/224141048593?pageci=5a18dd8e-7265-447b-9de5-baffa7b513b4&redirect=mobile

It's really great to have the community support as a resource from people like Tim At TTWT and Neil at Messick's that provide so much info and entertainment.
Tim, you are more than welcome to reach out Neil on my behalf!
I'm hoping to be able to afford a tractor within the year and this looks like an attachment that I can add to my growing list. I love your channel. Happy mother's day Christi
Great mower. Happy Mother’s Day Christy
Perfect mower for maintaining fence rows. You can tuck it right in under the overhanging branches and mow right up to the tree line or fences.
So funny! I was thinking he better watch out for that shroud and then I remembered you damaged a hose and then you mentioned you didn’t get any calls last year😂. I really like that mower. Looks stout. Just don’t have a need for it 😭
Oh, Happy Mother’s Day Christie! Hope I spelled it correctly.
That’s a great attachment, Tim. Looks super versatile and perfect for that job.
So the rear remotes on my cab LX3310 is up high. Messick might had used a non Kubota kit, and that is why it is hard to get to and did not have the 1/2 in couplings.
He would know. The boxes are branded and contain Kubota direction with trademarks.
My L 3310 went through regen at 15 hours 35 hours and I believe somewhere around 60 hours I currently now have 97 hours on it but it has not hampered me in anyway with tractor performance or slowing down my work when it goes through regen I thought it quite odd as well to regen so early and frequently
But now I also run at full throttle most of the time to keep the engine and systems heated up keep us up-to-date on yours I like to compare and see what is normal or not
Thank you Tim and Kristy. Happy maw day!!!!
At 12:35 I saw all the flashing lights in back ground. Were they coming to get you? Now they know who took out that phone box. Ron
Maybe those are the landing lights for Tim to aim the tractor. Where I live, we have a UFO site so I won't say UFO lights.
Had my first regen today 15.8 hr I guess about 25 min and smoked like crazy. Love everything about my 3310 except the squeaky hood
Why do you carry the loader so high, doesn’t that increase the tipping factor?
I can't speak for your 33hp tractor, but I have a Kubota B2401 (gear drive,
Hello,
I changed part of the angle hydrau cilinder so I could use it in a floating position.
Cheers from Belgium
Tim I know this video is a few days old, so not sure you will read this. But can you give a little feed back to those suggesting you lower your EMPTY bucket. I'm no engineer or expert at this, but if my tractor is substantially more tippy if my loader and its empty bucket is 3'-4' off the ground, I haven't set it up properly. I wonder with all of those that are commenting, if their tractors might need beet juice, wheel weights, front/rear ballast, wheel spacers, etc......?? Great video as always!!!!
A flail mower takes no prisoners.
Neil Messick, just like most salesmen, would say a fart in church was applause.
My FIL’s Kubota L3901 regens while we mow. The light comes on, we bump up the idle and keep going. That said, if I get the Blessing of being able to buy my own tractor, I’d like to get a JD.
good steady filming and narrative very informative
Mercy, I have cut many ditches and banks with a Push Mower. I was much Younger. Tim you are The Tractor King. It’s a blast to watch your videos.
Kubota engineering- take note...
Tim is right- these connections are a no brainer... AND LED LIGHTS AS STANDARD...
I’m impressed in general with the job the flail mower does, let alone the flexibility with that model. Thanks for the demo showing the the features of the offset model. Blessed Mother’s Day to Christy! Thanks for the great videos you both do!
Man, that angle you were on gave me severe anxiety for a minute! You're a very skilled operator
I've asked Tim what the slope is on that ditch a couple of times, but never got a response. I have a B2650 with cab, and I don't believe I would dare drive at that angle with the extra 700 pounds of cab above the center of gravity.
I would say 25%.
Good morning ttwt. The mower is awesome.
Tim, could you share a list of fittings you used to convert from. 1/4" to 1/2"? I need to do the same thing.
I'm used to five minute regens from the large trucks I drive.
no DEF in these small tractors. ..only DPF
Wow. I thought they'd have a pint sized tank for DEF. Thank you Prof. Tim for the lesson of the day.
Sorry to hear there is a subdivision coming soon. That is happening here too.
He has internet fiber.. it was bound to happen!
Crops are green tractors are red! 😆 lol I never saw a tractor I didn’t like.
Thanks for heads up for the rear remotes...
Also super nice to have that loader on there
You're very brave...... I can't imagine running my 1025R sideways on that slope.
55 is best for 2038r. This is the 55.
Nice video tim and kristie and it does a great job and mows realy good 👍👍
Great video as always and super helpful to a new LX2610 owner.
Good video. That Flail mower is really neat. I would need to talk to the Chair of the Finance Committee here about getting one ;-)
Looks like your dealer didn't install the correct rear hydraulics kit. Mine look nothing like that. About the regen - mines done one regen in 120 hours. Dealer recommended I operate it in 1800-1900 rpm range. Seems to work great.
Tim Christi this was interesting that mower is something we all need sometime especially round stumps
God Bless All
PaK
somebody else may or may not have pointed out but lowering your front end loader would help keep your center of gravity lower as well reducing the tip factor
Just a thought .... what about adding hydronic lines and relocating the connections all together!
Good Question!
You should never use galvanized or black pipe on hydraulics as they are not rated for the pressures. When they go they may explode and hurt someone. You should get hydraulic rated fittings for your own safety. Galvanized is for water and black for Gas only.
The galvanizing can flake off and mess up hydraulic valves and motors, etc.
Main issue is the pressure rating.
@@haroldphipps3457 Back pipe also flakes as well.
@@okjd159 true!
How about extended hydro lines? Can keep the dealer contacts and just add hose move to location of choice. Just a thought best wishes Dave0
hi Tim, the reason Kubota don't put them up near crossbar is they would get in the way of seats for the backhoe.
Thank you Sir!
This hydraulic issue kind of underscores the value of a green tractor with me. Maybe I’m biased? Happy Mother’s Day Christy !
Make sure that fitting your using is rated for the high hydraulic PSI, not sure but that coupling you added kind of looks like a low pressure fitting
Need a U or V remote mower - maybe a flail but small. Think of big machines with wings - just two small wings fitting the bottom and short sides.
Nothing like replacing brand new components to use them properly. I hope you let the dealership know about it. 😂
That sure is a handy dandy attachment!
Meh, now we have 15 cardboard boxes behind us LOL
I really like that mower. I wish that I had a need for it. It cuts great. Thanks Tim & Christie. Happy Mother's day
maybe lower the bucket some so the tractors not so tippy on the slopes
Tim, Just saw the video, I have a 3301L. You mentioned it was light on the left-hand side in the ditch while mowing, but you seemed to have your bucket awfully high which probable made your center of gravity off. You mentioned that the hydraulic female connections were not correct for the attachments you were using. I was wondering if you mentioned to Neal at the Kubota dealership what type of attachments you had to ensure that they placed the correct ones on? Seems odd that they would put connectors on it that were not standard to current implements that would be connected to compact tractors. Cheers.
It’s a good idea to put the flashers on when mowing along a road. ( I see now you put them on later in the video.)
DEFUND THE SAFETY POLICE!
"Sales Guy Talk..." LOL 👍
Great piece of equipment. Myself, I think I would rather have the flail more attachment from Ventrac and go that route. I agree with the others as you do a great job working with various equipment on compact tractors. Lastly, and most importantly, happy mother's Day to Christie and we all are appreciative of the great camera work she does to share these videos with us!
Good Sunday morning 🌄
It is a shame Kubota didn't do a better job with the rear hydraulics, I agree those are in an awkward location and that they should all have the same standard couplers.
The flail mower looks amazing.
Y knives or Hammers on that flail? It cuts very nice.
Hammers.
nice little mower
If you find a better rear remote setup for the Kubota LX I would be interested in hearing about it.
Found these on eBay. If you don't mind running hoses from your valves to these breakaway couplers, they should allow you to mount them on the rear support bracket like the LX cab models are.

seems to me the bucket is quite a long ways in the air. My understanding is having the bucket way up is a good way to cause a tip over
Did you say twerking around the shop?!?! 😂😂
I did not.
@@TractorTimewithTim Oh!..... My bad .......🤭
So, AgFolks site states this mower is designed for tractors less than 40HP. I have a Massey Ferguson 1740M (hydrostat trans.) which has 40HP at the engine, 29.1HP at the PTO. Is AgFolks specification indicating engine horsepower or PTO horsepower? I can really utilize this type of mower well on our property, I do have a set of factory installed rear remotes.
PTO hp. So you are good!
@@TractorTimewithTim Thank you, love all the videos, big fan! Happy Mother's Day to Christy!
