‼️FIXING‼️ my mistakes lol (this is what I would do if I remade the video): - Sandstorm doesn’t raise special defence in gen 3. I would still keep on the teams though. - Sturdy doesn’t protect from a one shot in gen 3 (that’s just a mistake so good thing we didn’t talk about abilities much) so just ignore that :) - Brock should have rock tomb instead of rock slide on his Pokémon - Misty’s horsea should have hidden power ice since the rain is up - Surge should have hidden power ice instead of water so that it can hit both ground and grass types - Erika’s Parasect shouldn’t know sunny day since it powers up fire types - Koga should have a tentacruel in place of one of his Pokémon (probably nidoking) to match his vibe and add diversity better - Koga’s Crobat needs to be a Golbat, but can keep the same moves - Giovanni should have a different ace such as Persian or Kangaskhan to avoid being swept by surf Be sure to tell me if I missed anything! Thank you so much for watching and IF YOU HAVEN’T SUBSCRIBED then please consider it? 😁
You should change Blaine's Ninetales. Iron Tail on it makes no sense given it's not a physical attacker. Basically, it allows water types to stand there for free since they'll resist both damaging moves it has. Replace Iron Tail with Solar Beam to further take advantage of the Sun as well as taking advantage of most if not all Gen 1 Rock types subpar special bulk. Another suggestion I have is putting Weezing back as Koga's ace. Give Weezing better coverage like Flamethrower, Thunderbolt, Sludge Bomb and Shadow Ball to deal with Psychic types. I know Gengar fits the ninja vibe but I have a better idea for Gengar. Sabrina has a Haunter in the anime. Gengar can be a very effective swerve to the player. Shadow Ball, Ice Punch, Thunderbolt and Psychic so that she can deal as much damage to the player as possible before going down. If you really want to be cheeky, you can also replace one of the moves with Destiny Bond so it can take the player's Pokémon down with her.
Brock having three mid to late game Pokemon at the level they're at with those movesets is insanely overpowered imo, you're fighting level 6-8 wild pokemon at that stage of the game with a very small handful of level 8-9 trainers you can't rebattle. Misty having a Gyrados, which is featured TWICE on the Elite 4 is a little strong as the second leader as well. I think you went from "you need to plan your moves" challenging to "you need to grind or outlevel this fight" and Soulsbourne levels of cruel.
Yeah it honestly shouldn’t be too hard if you are playing with SOME experience. Keep in mind AI doesn’t improve and the Pokémon levels are the same as they were for the most part
@ollytropics1735 true, but players who don't pick Bulbasaur will struggle. Squirtle wouldn't match up well against Omanyte. There aren't enough encounters at this point to allow for such a diverse team at the first gym. The other issue is that he's given them moves with 60 base power while your starters are running moves like water gun and scratch. It's a little too unfair.
@@shadowscythe11 People who choose squirtle can just caught Nidoran with double kick or mankey and save it for Omanyte, and then Squirtle can just take care of Onix and Rhihorn.
Same! I guess I should have stuck with the theme but I didn’t want misty to be too strong. Maybe if we took out psyduck and horsea for Vaporeon that would be fair 🤔
Misty should NEVER get all these 3 pokemons heck, the only actual super affective pokemon you can have on this fight is Ivysaur, Bellsprout and Pikachu.
@AsharAusaf I argue having perfect type effectiveness in a gym fight is a great way to undermine the difficulty. Granted, that's more a problem with having each gym be represented by a type
The only issue I have with Golem being used with Giovanni is that Golem is the perfect replacement for Bruno’s second Onix, especially since the developers have the connection with Golem’s and Machamp’s designs around them being traded for each other to evolve
You will see in my next video coming out in the next couple weeks that I take a different approach to Bruno’s team, where I actually just incorporate Steelix since I was doing the teams for generation 3, and Onix is so bad 😂
I think you're relying on hidden power for coverage too much. It'll be too confusing to new players on top of being too much of a patch job (I'm not sure if the AI can even tell which type HP is)
Thats a great point. I was looking at some of the movesets especially for surge’s team and the Pokémon had no chance in this gen against ground types without hidden power😂. Thanks a lot for the comment, I’ll take that into consideration for my next video!
@@VeyloYT the ground types are geodude and diglett (sandslash barely has ground moves outside of TMs, onix has no attack). Geodude is vulnerable to fighting, which raichu (and electabuzz) learns, diglett is vulnerable to attacks that do damage (ie priority spam)
Also, Bullet Seed only has 10 BP in Gen 3. Even if it hits 5 times, it's a weaker move than the 60 BP (in gen 3) Giga Drain, which is Erika's signature move. And since all Grass moves are special in Gen 3, there is no reason not to give Parasect Giga Drain.
You make 2 great points. First of all, I had no clue sturdy worked that way so thanks for letting me know! And I also didn’t check the gen 3 bullet seed damage so… guess I messed up there haha. Thanks a lot for the comments, I love being able to have these conversations in this community😁
I kind of adore how your changes have the trainer starting the gym challenge with a Rhyhorn, and ending it with a Rhydon... Amazing symbolism before heading to face the Elite 4.
Giving Misty's Gyarados moves that are all special in gen 3 (water, dark, and dragon) is a smart way to let her use it without its power being super overbearing at that point of the game.
Finally someone gets it (most people are saying Gyarados is too good for this stage of the game). Gyarados doesn’t learn any good physical moves for so long so I thought it was fair. Thanks so much for the comment! 😁
@@Israel_Augustine In gen 1 before the Special Attack and Special Defense split, yes! Special Gyarados was perfectly viable. Starting in gen 2 its SpDef was given that 100 value, and it's SpAtk was set at 60. So, I guess, we're both right, and it all depends on whether these games are intended to be set in the original RBY, or in gen 3 FRLG.
Good overall, but I can’t get over replacing Koga’s iconic Weezing with a Gengar, given that we will already have to deal with Gengar when facing Agatha. Also, if we’re using Jolteon for Lt. Surge and Flareon for Blane, I think we should also use a Vaporeon for Misty Other than that, I agree with the choices
Yes , giving Koga Gengar is questionable since she’s the only specialist that technically shares the same typing as Koga (except for the gen 3 and 7 rematches ) since there’s one fully evolved ghost type
Koga looks to be particularly nasty to face having a toxic staller out first, and a tanky one at that, then progressing into just pure power towards the end. Sabrina is absolutely terrifying with that set up strat, she was tough before, but now, damn, that is crazy. Sabrina will definitely be a massive threat to attempt to go through and I am sure she would wipe out teams with this new set up. (Good luck trying to do a hardcore nuzlocke versus this team haha) Giovanni is definitely a step up from his original team, not going to lie, I was expecting him to have his signature Persian maybe with the moves: Slash, Fake Out, Psyche Up, Return. - The idea behind the moveset is that with Persian's speed and the team being weakened by the other Pokemon, Persian would come it, get off it's Fake Out and be a physical threat with the high critical chance of Slash and (since we know how much it loves Giovanni in the anime), it will do big damage with a max friendship Return. It can also set itself up with Psyche Up. Erika while a signifigant step up from what she was, still has no real counter to flying types beyond Exeggutor's Ancient Power, if the player wants to bring something like Golbat against her, how about dropping Exeggutor's Leech Seed (since it has Synthesis for healing) for Psychic or Confusion for more type coverage? Overall, this was a very fun video to watch, I particularly liked how you made the tough Sabrina fight in the original even more difficult by not only giving her a more diverse team, but also bumping up her levels. That would be completely terrifying to face. Huge shoutout for making it so Surge cannot be swept with a freshly caught Dugtrio just outside Vermillion City.
This isn’t so much as “Fixing” Kanto’s leaders as much as “Hey, how can we make these fights as frustratingly difficult as possible” without consideration to any design for difficulty progression that a game would have. The Pokémon choices are fine I guess, I even really like the idea for putting in Kabuto/Omanyte in Brock’s gym, but the movesets over compensate WAY too much. I understand that you want to make these fights more challenging but you give these mons essentially near end game movesets at the beginning of the game when the player’s best option is going to be like a base 55 stab move. How would one even go about beating Brock with Charmander besides over-levelling a Nidoran or catching a full team of them and training each of them up. The player doesn’t have access to good moves or Pokémon at the beginning of the game so the game starts at its hardest but overtime as the player gets more options, the leaders become easier and easier as the leaders movesets start out overtuned but they get increasingly more normalised over time. From Sabrina onwards I think the changes are mostly fine but this video doesn’t have the same smooth difficulty curve that Smith’s or RoryTheFiend’s videos have on fixing Jhoto. Again this isn’t fixing per se as if this was a normal Pokémon game with interesting design choices, if anything it’s creating more problems than it is fixing them. It is beatable yes, anything in Pokémon is but I don’t think the average player would have any fun playing these fights in the early game. That’s my viewpoint anyway.
The next set of Gym leaders (if you decide to make a series out of this with every region's leaders and possibly E4s) should at least have the TM Move they specialize like Brock with Rock Tomb or Sabrina with Calm Mind something along that, other than that great video
Giving Brock an Aerodactyl may seem like overkill so early in the game but it would establish that Gym Leaders can be a proper challenge. Geodude and Onix can be obliterated by Squirtle and Bulbasaur but Aerodactyl would be a threat to anything you have at that point. Your best chance would be Pikachu.
I like your idea and to be fair most guys in girls who are into pokémon are in their early thirties and '40s this should be a proper setup for us veterans
Just a fair heads up Sandstorm doesn't boost Sp. def of rocks in Gens 2 and 3. That was implemented in gen 4. Also Brock serves a very specific purpose of teaching the player not to rely on normal moves. Adding omanyte who can't be dealt with as easily for squirtle players kinda takes away from that. He's the one gym leader whos team I think was well designed.
This is really well put together. The editing, visuals, music and chosen anime snippets keeps viewers like me engaged. The Kanto gym leaders will be stacked if they adopt these changes. Hopefully you continue this series for the next generations, and I will eagerly wait for Kalos (great gym leaders with ridiculously weak team structure and composition).
That’s a good point, but it learns megahorn at level 43 and I didn’t want to cheat lol. Maybe I should have though, because megahorn is so good for countering the psychic types. Thanks for commenting! 😁
Was a bit confused at first until I realized you were talking about the gen 3 games. Redesigning the Gen 1 gyms might be a fun challenge as well. I mean blue kaizo exists but that's a bit different I think. edit. Watched the intro again, missed the the part where you said that.
I figured doing gen 1 wouldn’t allow for enough of a creative moveset for each gym leader. I figured doing this would help bring more personality to them! Maybe I’ll have to make another video on the gen 1 games 😁
You definitely have some solid ideas here. I think if I were to upgrade the teams, it would be focused more around the TM moves specifically. Let's take Brock for an example. Rock Tomb is a sketchy move tbh, but the one thing it does well is speed reduction. The best way to take advantage of this is flinching. So, even though Rock Slide is a more powerful attack (in fact, it's a flinch move as well), I would prioritize having Rock Tomb on Omanyte. Rhyhorn and Omanyte can take advantage of the speed drops with Stomp and Bite respectively; Rhyhorn in particular hits pretty hard as-is. And then Rhyhorn can still set up sand and Omanyte can do water/ice coverage, while retaining this main gimmick. As for Onix, it already has a surprisingly good Speed, so this might be the one case to skip Rock Tomb. But, let's consider that Screech is a bad move as well, and Dig is an unrelated TM that's confusing for the player to deal with. I would seriously consider giving him both rock moves, and you could also replace Dig with Sand Tomb (which is much weaker, but on theme) or Sandstorm again. The way Brock wins isn't straight attacks, it's crippling speed and stealing your turns while piling on chip damage. I would even set all of his Pokemon's EVs into HP and Defense to emphasize this. (Also if you really wanted to be mean you could put Dragonbreath on Onix for the paralysis chance, but that seems like a bit much) Last thing - I think it's important to have gym trainers represent the type while leaders show how to abuse it. So the scrawny kid in Brock's gym should have, for example, Geodude and Kabuto. Actual rock types, but without Rock Tomb the player probably outspeeds them so they can only use straightforward attacks. And will probably lose due to the level gap.
Love it all except: 1) Koga needs a tentacruel. He's right next to the ocean! 2) Giovanni is still swept by any water pokemon. Needs coverage. Don't any ground types learn thunderbolt?
That is a smart idea, I didn’t even consider tentacruel for him. And yeah I guess I should have looked into that a bit more, but there wasn’t much of an option against water types 🥲. Thank you so much for the support, I really appreciate you coming to the channel! 😁
I agree with most of this For brock Rock slide might be a bit too strong for the firsts gym And misty & Surge having 4 Pokémon might be a bit much I’d say remove the Psyduck & Magnemite I’m their teams Sort from that this is almost perfect
That’s a great opinion, and i agree with you for most casual players going through the game! I really appreciate the comment, thank you for coming to the channel 😁
I love most of these ideas! Though Brock would be such a challenge with the small pool of mons that the early game has, maybe add more diverse mons early. I always thought exeggcute or oddish/bellsprout in Viridian Forest and Shellder or Poliwag available by old rod in Viridian would be cool. I also think Electabuzz would be a solid addition to Surge's team possibly replacing voltorb!
I don't think Erika should use Sunny Day since a Fire-type can easily exploit that. Also, Giovanni's last Pokémon was a Rhydon in the original Gen 1 games; no idea why the remakes unevolved it.
The video is just lit🔥like you the quality the editing everything is perfect i was not able to see the video when it was uploaded because i am from India and when you uploaded the video it was around 1 or 2 am and i was sleeping so sorry 🎉❤ full support from me
Thank you so much 3DM, I appreciate your constant support and you always make my day with your comments! I’ll keep getting better each video that comes out😁
@@VeyloYT you give your best and that is what we want but also upload some different games video because I is not important that everyone like the same game I hope you get it bro ❤️🔥
Not sure I would agree with many of these as the movesets seem more like those seen in hardcore mods for the Pokemon games. I think more interesting would be to have movesets for these added Pokemon that come natural to level up to where they are in their level, and have for example Brock gift the TM for Rock Tomb, and then that would justify Ryhorn having it in its moveset, but not so much sandstorm. Omanyte's egg move set is wild, but not so much realistic again in terms of fixing the gym leader vs making them very challenging. I will say I am missing what I consider to be some of Erika's signature Pokemon moves, like Egg Bomb Exeggutor, and Victreebell's Razor Leaf. Many of the rest are very plausible (i.e. Misty's psyduck, Lt. Surges entire team, etc). I guess maybe what I'm not a fan of is seeing movesets that rely heavily on TM learning, unless it's the gift TM for that gym, because again it seems not so much fixing the main game, but making it as challenging as a mod like Emerald Kaizo or something like those. But I'm very happy to see this video, it actually got me talking and thinking about the topic!
Imo, a better move set for starmie (or less rng based by removing evasion) could be this. -HP electric/ice: a nice reference to Starmie getting thunderbolt/ice beam, while not being too busted for the level -Water Pulse: it’s Misty’s TM; it can confuse, which is thematically accurate to Starmie’s psychic type -Recover: Thematically accurate to starmie, and gives it longevity (similar to minimize, but feels more fair) -Swift: Better than tackle, and the star shaped projectiles are too good to pass up on for the starfish. My hope with this is that Starmie gets the coverage it’s known for, but tuned down to a challenging fight that punishes unbalanced teams or ones that only leveled their starters. Loved your idea with giving Brock sandstorm btw :)
I think in order to make gym leaders more challenging, it’ll be great to compensate their specialised type by giving them Pokémon from other types too (like they did in stadium). A ratio of 4:2 would be good e.g.
Yes that’s a good point. I tried to mainly just give them a variety of moves to counter the player, but I totally agree with that and hopefully in future Pokémon games there can be more of a “theme” like Lance’s dragons. Thanks for the comment! 😁
I frankly couldn't disagree more. "Theme" feels cheap. Gen 9 has taught us how boring trainers without a real identity could be, and frankly I think more players should explore type specialization themselves instead of wanting to see it gone in NPCs. it's a very fun restriction.
I kind of dislike taking Geodude off of Brock's team. Mostly because it's neat that he could have caught his team right up the road from his gym. Other than that (very subjective) complaint, this was a really neat analysis. I like how you break down the reasoning behind your choices and give some insight on good battle design.
Really fun stuff! It'd be fun to play a Pokemon game that is just a bit more strategic like what you set up without being impossibly hard! Your editing is fire and I wish I could make something as visually nice because man Editing kills me lol.
I don't like koga having gengar, especially as his ace, since it's already agatha's ace and gengar is more associated with ghost type than poison type.
Personally I would have added a Arbok and Golbat to Koga's since you wanted to limit yourself to the original 151. Agatha already has a Gengar as her ace.
it would be cool to see other version of this video but with pokemon from all generations, just to see how a definitive team would look like on each characters with pokemon that are a good fit to their design
This is so much better than what game freak gives us with the pokemon games. They've remade Kanto so many times and they haven't fixed it. You did what they won't. Great job.😊😊😊😊😊😊
As long as Misty gives it bubblebeam you can't put it on Omanyte. And all the gym leaders have to have at least 1 pokemon with the move from the TM they give you.
I like the changes you made to the Kanto Gym Leaders teams. Seriously, I never understood why Magmar isn't on Blaine's team! And... Giovanni with two Rhyhorn is a team... one is fine, but two? Seriously, you managed to fix his team, thanks for include Golem, Rhyhorn and Marowak 👍🏻✨ I would have left Geodude on Brock's team, but I like that you included Omanyte on his team. In the video games it is said that his hobby is searching for fossils in Mt. Moon, it is great that he has Fossils in his team. It's a shame that Brock didn't have more Rock Pokémon in the anime ⛰️
Awesome video! 🙌 Just a few things I would change. (I'm sure you addressed a lot of these so apologies if I'm repeating what you wrote/responded already) TMs won from the Gym should be used by at least the ace Pokémon of that Gym. TMs from other Gyms should not be used by prior Gyms like Starmie having Toxic, but if Giovanni uses a Nido, it could use Toxic. Brock: I like the squad you made a lot, but Geodude is iconic, have him start with it and make it a 4 Pokemon team, maybe nerf it a little down to level 11 to give some free Exp just to help out against Rhyhorn Misty: She looks like the true dragon master with Horsea and Gyarados both knowing dragon moves. I say give Horsea Aurora Beam instead of Dragonbreath, that way HP is not needed. Lt. Surge: Voltorb should have Sonicboom instead of HP. Give Jolteon Pin Missle instead of HP, goes well with the defense reduction from Voltorb's Screech. Also, Raichu should have Quick Attack or Slam instead of HP. Erika: Parasact should have Stun Spore, it is the only powder move missing, instead of Counter or Sunny Day, it will work well against fast sweepers. Exeggutor having basically two healing options is kind of redundant so drop Leech Seed, Vileplume already has it, and I would give it a Confusion instead, great coverage against Poison Pokemon that are effective against grass. Koga: Nearly perfect. Crobat/Golbat we know what you meant, it's all good! No Nidoking, Weezing is literally a ninja's smoke bomb and should be used as such, Will-o-Wisp, Destiny Bond, Selfdestruct, and Flash. Gangar swap out Psychic for Psywave. Tentacruel doesn't really fit the Koga vibe imo. Sabrina: literally perfect!!! Blaine: All good except Arcane, Flamethrower swap with Fire Blast, the Gym TM. Giovanni: Take out Sandslash for Nidoking, it's native to the areas near Viridian.
This got kind of long and I'm only on Brock so far, so I'll probably comment individually for each team. I do like the idea of replacing Geodude with Rhyhorn, and I don't think it's too extreme a change. Rhyhorn only has 5 more Attack and Speed than Geodude, 5 less Def, and the same SpDef, so I don't think the replacement is a stretch at all. They're roughly equivalent statwise, with Rhyhorn only having a significant HP advantage (Geodude 40, Rhyhorn 80). Now, instead of Geodude being oneshot, Rhyhorn might live, like, one water or grass hit maybe. Also, I was today years old when I discovered Rhyhorn can learn icebeam, thunderbolt and flamethrower. Which, don't get me wrong, would be a bad idea, but it WOULD be... like... pretty funny. If anything, given how Brock, as a boss fight, was designed to demonstrate how type effectiveness works, you could, in that same spirit, use ALL SPECIAL RHYHORN to demonstrate that super effectiveness means nothing if the mon doesn't have the stats for it, lol. This is a joke btw. Nobody do this. I do like giving Brock fossils, considering the Pewter City Museum. Omanyte has 90 SpA and a lot of coverage here, but on the other hand it is slow, and these games put Starmie in the second gym, so honestly it's probably fine lol. What do you think about Swagger on Onix instead of Bind? I tend to like it since Onix's Def is so high that the Atk boost on the target isn't usually a danger to him. Aside from its Def, the only other thing Onix has going for it at this point in the game is its speed, and I like how confusion complements the pseudo-Protect of the first turn of Dig (which only works as such if the digging mon moves first, which Onix likely will). Confusion added into the mix makes Onix less likely to be hit even on the turns where it isn't underground.
A very wack moveset for Brock's Rhyhorn would be elemental moves in Fire Blast/Flamethrower, Tbolt, Ice Beam & Rock Tomb. These strong moves would be manageable in early game since it has a very low 30 SpA.
That would be a crazy start to the game, and a great idea! Thanks so much for sharing that with me and coming to the channel. I appreciate the support😁
personally I think some of these are a bit overkill for a mainline game, especially Brock and Misty considering the game just started out, but Giovanni was really really good, drives me nuts how the supposed leader of the biggest criminal organization in those parts leads his gym with two rhyhorns
Great, i just add some items to the favorite last pokemons to each GYM Leaders, because yeah... And it worked nice in my Hack-Rom! Thanks! Starmie with Mystic Water and Onix with Hard Rock is other level!
If Erika has Giga Drain for all her Mons it'd be more benefical for her, thw rest of the move sets can be kept. But some coverage could help too. (HP Ice, Ground) Sure Exeggutor had Ancient Power...bit the other 3 need coverage too
Wow, how did I not think of that?? I wish I did because that’s an amazing idea and Persian gets no love in this game. Great idea, and thanks for coming to the channel! 😁
Pokémon leaf green & fire red on hard mode! It would be cool if you had the choice to play Pokémon games on harder difficulties if you’re looking for a challenge. I also like how I recognize some of the Pokémon you used for the gym leaders from their teams in the anime. Blaine had Magmar and Ninetales in the anime and Giovanni also had Golem in the anime when he battled Gary. (And kinglerfor some reason)
Brock - Zubat, Rhyhorn and Onix Misty - Psyduck, Seadra and Starmie Surge - Pidgeyotto, Electabuzz and Raichu Erika - weepinbell, vileplume and Nidoqueen Would be a nice start. I like the idea of theme teams as opposed to mono type teams.
I normally wait a while to see if I consistently enjoy a channel's content to subscribe, but you earned one from me. The video is well put together and enjoyable, and your narration is very engaging. Like someone else said, I'm actually surprised you don't have a lot of subscribers. Your logo and presentation is on par with other channels that have tens of thousands or even 100k subs or more. Keep up the good work, and I'm confident you'll get there.
Thank you so much for this comment, it means a lot to me to hear that you’ve enjoyed the video! I’m glad you’re here for the journey, we’re just getting started😁
Strictly speaking, the cpus have random IVs so they'd just have a random hidden power type. And I think Brock's combination leaves something to be desired. Still all 4x weak to bulbasaur. And some of the movesets the cpu would not use well. Starters designed to setup light screen and reflect likely don't work as you could probably put out a high special defense pokemon weak to fire and have the cpu just spam fire punch. Also anything with explosion might just be a free beat if you just use protect or switch to a ghost-type, and once it's figured out the cpu always does that, a lot of these would be far easier to beat than you make it sound.
That’s a good point. I figured at least for the reflect and light screens that they would be programmed to use those first but I’m kind of happy you mention they are easier to beat than I make it out to be. A lot of people said I made them way too hard 😂
Just a quick note. Probably should replace Horsea's Hidden Power Fire with Hidden Power Ice. If you're fighting under Rain Dance, its damage will be halved, while Ice will hit Grass types just as well while not being hindered by the rain. Also, the biggest issue with Erika is that by using Sunny Day you give the opponent a boost to Fire Type moves, which are her main weakness. Of course, it just so happens that her city is the one where people get the Fire Stone, so just about any fire type will hit like a sledgehammer if they know any fire move, even Ember.
That’s very true, I messed that up for misty and surge since hidden power ice would have been more effective. Consider it a nerf for them having better Pokémon! Thanks for the comment 😊
Yeah I did consider that, but once again I felt like the team would have been a bit too OP if I didn’t do something to give the opponent a chance. Really, any flying move would one shot parasect as well, so it’s more of a variety Pokémon to give it a chance
if you happen to do this for gen 2. I hope you replace a good chunk of the gym leaders aces with actual johto pokemon. its really weird the first two gym leaders you fight only used Kanto pokemon.
I like some of your ideas but overall I think your list would make the early game a little too challenging. Here are my ideas for the first 3 leaders. Brock - give him a Vulpix (or Zubat) to counter Bulbasaur. Keeps it consistent with the anime. I think giving Brock Rhyhorn or any of the fossils is just too much for the first gym tbh. Geodude Lv 12 Tackle Defense Curl Rock Tomb Vulpix Lv 14 Ember Tail Whip Roar Quick Attack Onix Lv 16 Bind Screech Rock Tomb Sand Tomb Misty - I don’t feel the need to give her a non water type, they do so well in countering their weaknesses as it is. Psyduck Lv 17 Water Pulse Confusion Disable Aerial Ace Poliwhirl Lv 19 (yes I know this is an illegal evolution…but I think this would be better than Vaporean or Gyarados) Water Pulse Hypnosis Dig Ice Punch Starmie Lv 21 Water Pulse Psybeam Thunderbolt Swift Surge - give him a water type to counter Rock/Ground types. Also a small level boost. Voltorb Lv 22 Shock Wave Screech Rollout Light Screen Gyarados Lv 24 (this seems better for Surge than Misty tbh…but an argument could be had that this is still too tough for gym 3. I thought it’d be ironic to give Surge a Pokemon double weak to Electric attacks though.) Thrash Bite Water Pulse Thunderbolt Raichu Lv 26 Thunderbolt Body Slam Double Team Brick Break
I know, there’s so many ways they could have gone with how many assets there are in the games and it feels almost like a waste when there could be so many more gym battles and trainers to fight. Guess that’s why we have fan games lol
Totally agree with the comment below, Misty having 4 pokemon and Gyarados on top is stupid. Psyduck (19), Staryu, Starmie should be enough. Staryu (21)- Recover, Water Pulse, Swift, Rain Dance Starmie (23) - Confusion, Recover, Water Pulse, Swift Maybe this is too strong, maybe Staryu / Starmie is enough. Misty's Starmie has always been a very strong opponent, coupled with Misty's good AI. Having too many pokemon this early just doesn't make sense. Surge's Voltorb should have explosion, sonic boom, shockwave, and thunderwave. Surge's advantage at this point is paralyse through thunderwave and if he's using voltorb explosion is necessary for one big bang. Also 3 pokemon is enough since he's only a 3rd gym leader. It WOULD make sense if his voltorb was electrode, though. Hidden power water is too cheat-y and easy, (cheesey), so no. Jolteon should have Thunderbolt, and it makes sense, cos this pokemon is unreasonably loved somehow. Again, HP water is just too cheesey, but instead it should have Double Kick fpor possible ground/rock type that it can hit for x2. Also I would suggest higher levels for Erika, around 34~37 Koga could start 37-43 and Sabrina 41-45 Blaine 43-48 Geovanni 46-50 Koga's Ace - Weezing (43) - Flamethrower, Sludge Bomb, Thunderbolt, Shadow Ball Koffing (37) - Shadow Ball, Flamethrower, Sludge Bomb, Explosion Muk (40) - Flamethrower, Dig, Giga Drain, Explosion Arbok (42) - Sludge Bomb, Earthquake, Slam, Bite 4 Pokemon should be enough for Sabrina & Blaine, their strength should not be in number but having good, strong pokemon. Hypno, Mr. Mime, Kadabra, Alakazam should do it. Mr. Mime can utilise baton pass, and other fast psychic types should have defensive moves, Light Screen / Reflect, and use it first, using their high speed, according to the type of the player pokemon, since AI can read and cheat. They should all have recover which works good with high speed and low HP but high defense (light screen / reflect). By utilising the AI cheats (reading player's move) this team should be formidable with just these 4 pokemon. Magmar, Ninetales, Rapidsh, and Arcanine should make up a menacing team with high damage.
Amazing video, I really enjoyed the editing, animations and team choices. Could you please do a similar video for Johto? In my opinion the Johto gym leaders have the worst Pokémon teams out of every regions.
I will definitely consider doing Johto at some point. Only issue is, it’s been done before so I don’t want to just repeat what people have already seen, but I’m thinking of doing the Heart Gold/ Soul Silver games maybe. Thanks for the suggestion, I really appreciate the comment! 😁
If we can assume Alakazam gets the calm mind boosts passed to it, do you think it would be a good idea to try to fit Thief in there instead? It's Special in this gen, surprises enemy psychics who would resist Alakazam's stab psychic, and might be especially surprising if the player came in prepared with held items for a notoriously hard gym. I agree with giving it recover, but Alakazam is so frail and so crucial as this teams win condition that I wouldn't want it to endanger itself by boosting up instead of threatening the opponent actively. What do you think? I want to go into all these teams more in depth when I have a chance, but this one leapt out at me and I wanted to mention it before I forgot!
That’s a unique and great idea that I didn’t even consider! I figured thunder punch would be able to counter anything that the opponent might have, but thief would throw them off for sure. I agree that recover could have been swapped for that! Sounds great, if you want to comment your ideas I’d love to hear them! Thanks for coming to the channel 😁
It’s kind of a mix between the two I guess, but my intention was to fix them for any player. I realize now that these gym leaders are a bit too hard haha
I think giving Misty, Erika, and Blaine the starter trio would actually round out their teams a bit better. There's already trainers in Kanto with some of the starter pokemon so I don't have any qualms about more starters being in the game. They could also be worked into the Elite Four to round out Lance and Agatha.
After seeing Smith’s video on fixing the Jhoto gym leaders, I was really hoping to see if somebody had done the same thing with the Kanto ones. I was surprised nobody apparently had yet so your video was a huge excitement to see when it came out :D
I took some inspiration from that and I think this series can go a long wag if I can continue to improve the quality! Thank you so much for the comment, it means a lot😁
Don't know if I agree with all changes. Hidden power fire on horsea is going to be very weak considering the rain. Why not use aurora beam which is an egg move that horsea gets. Ice won't be weakened by rain and good against grass.
Do you mean sturdy? Yes I realized that after making the video haha but hey it doesn’t change the teams at all to be honest even since I got that wrong 😁
This is really well done with great ideas, use of underutilised pokemon, a great progression between gyms, and the need for actual thought before challenging a leader. This is also fair and respects the original philosophy behind the leaders. I would play the hell out of this.
Thank you so much for the comment! I would love to see this become a reality if I knew someone who could mod it lol. Hopefully one day we can have a remake like this that’s actually decently hard and fun! 😁
Bubblebeam and Aurora Beam and Rockslide? Those are way too powerful for a first gym. Water Gun, Icy Breath, and Rock Throw is more similar to what the players movesets will be similar to,
I’d say rock slide and bubble beam could be swapped out, but I should have explained myself a bit better on aurora beam. It was the only counter to bulbasaur I could find, and omanyte doesn’t learn icy wind. At 65 base power I figured it wouldn’t be too over powered, especially since bulbasaur can probably one shot omanyte anyways. For my next videos I’ll take that into consideration though, thank you so much for the comment! 😁
@VeyloYT thank you, what about a move like stomp or take down instead of only super effective moves as an answer to Bulbasaur, these are both strong but aren't so bad a player couldn't manage to deal with. Outside of Brock though I agree with all of your changes
@@erendoor8621that’s also true. I’m a bit worried when the challenger actually goes up against them that bulbasaur would still sweep every Pokémon since they’re all 4x weak to grass. Hopefully stomp can at least deal one hit!
I wanted these to feel like a true boss fight, like you needed to learn their movesets and prepare a little bit for the leaders while still being in an achievable standard for people who are familiar to Pokémon. What was too strong about these? Thanks so much for the feedback and welcome to the channel! 😁
I’m Fire Red/Leaf Green Blaine’s Arcanine didn’t have extreme speed in the first place, and I thought aerial ace would provide more coverage against fighting types. Thanks for commenting though, I think extreme speed could have worked too! 😁
A nice attempt but imo the early fights are fine as is. Brock’s especially since the role of Brock’s fight is to force players to learn how the physical and special stat mechanics work vs an Onix that’s perfectly statted to give them enough time to learn what they’re doing wrong
That’s a fair opinion. I was mainly introducing those Pokémon for players that had played through the game a time or two as I said in the intro so that they had more of a challenge, taking into consideration they kind of know what they’re doing already. Maybe I can make a remake of this video just for first time players🤔
@@VeyloYT imo there’s nothing wrong with a lotta the later fights though. I’d say it’s really for the best to ramp up the difficulty over time. For example Brock’s fight teaches you how stats work. Then idk Misty can teach you about invisible status effects like confusion which you deal with by switching then maybe have Surge teach you the importance of abilities etc etc etc
‼️FIXING‼️ my mistakes lol (this is what I would do if I remade the video):
- Sandstorm doesn’t raise special defence in gen 3. I would still keep on the teams though.
- Sturdy doesn’t protect from a one shot in gen 3 (that’s just a mistake so good thing we didn’t talk about abilities much) so just ignore that :)
- Brock should have rock tomb instead of rock slide on his Pokémon
- Misty’s horsea should have hidden power ice since the rain is up
- Surge should have hidden power ice instead of water so that it can hit both ground and grass types
- Erika’s Parasect shouldn’t know sunny day since it powers up fire types
- Koga should have a tentacruel in place of one of his Pokémon (probably nidoking) to match his vibe and add diversity better
- Koga’s Crobat needs to be a Golbat, but can keep the same moves
- Giovanni should have a different ace such as Persian or Kangaskhan to avoid being swept by surf
Be sure to tell me if I missed anything! Thank you so much for watching and IF YOU HAVEN’T SUBSCRIBED then please consider it? 😁
Actually final Pokemon for Giovanni should be mewto since he technically had mewto
But Golbat cannot learn Fly in Fire Red. I think Aerial Ace suits Koga's ninja theme best from all Flying-type move Golbat can learn in this game.
Wouldn’t that be a bit broken though? It would be a super cool final fight!
also weather is permanent up until gen 5 I think
Oh, i just assumed that this was for like, a hard more for the game, then it would be fair
Yeah it honestly shouldn’t be too hard if you are playing with SOME experience. Keep in mind AI doesn’t improve and the Pokémon levels are the same as they were for the most part
brock is actually a free fight if you picked bulbasaur or squirtle, while charmander has no chance now
I'm saying lmao
@@cuit-realit learns Metal claw
First gym is way too busted.
You never want the first gym to be too challenging.
Anyone doing a nuzlocke would be completely fucked also.
Good
Bulbasaur still licking its lips
@ollytropics1735 true, but players who don't pick Bulbasaur will struggle.
Squirtle wouldn't match up well against Omanyte.
There aren't enough encounters at this point to allow for such a diverse team at the first gym.
The other issue is that he's given them moves with 60 base power while your starters are running moves like water gun and scratch. It's a little too unfair.
@@shadowscythe11 People who choose squirtle can just caught Nidoran with double kick or mankey and save it for Omanyte, and then Squirtle can just take care of Onix and Rhihorn.
@athirsonsilva3808 true, I forgot he moved Nidoran.
Always thought it was so weird Misty, Surge, and Blaine didnt use Vaporeon, Jolteon, or Flareon
Same! I guess I should have stuck with the theme but I didn’t want misty to be too strong. Maybe if we took out psyduck and horsea for Vaporeon that would be fair 🤔
@@VeyloYT Vaporeon, Gyarados, and Starmie would be a heck of a trio to fight, but totally doable if you know what you're doing. I'd be all for that.
Yeah definitely. I’d say that would be the ideal team to fight for a tough but fun battle!
That’s very true, I guess I was just worried about the dig tm in cerulean city and the dugtrios mainly because I know that can be broken 😩
@@VeyloYT9
Personally I like the heavy use of hidden power it should be the games job to have a different animation for each hidden power type
Sturdy doesn't allow to live a hit with 1 HP in gen 3, it just prevents OHKO moves like Fissure or Sheer Cold.
@VeyloYT sturdy doesn't work the way you'd think it works until gen 5 actually.
What did I say Brenden! WHAT DID I SAY!
that one infamous alfarad clip
I never understood why Blaine wasn't given a Magmar in game considering how powerful it was, as well as it's iconic battles.
I know, it’s such a great Pokémon that was completely ignored in the Kanto games. Thanks for the comment, I appreciate you coming to the channel! 😁
I kind of adore how your changes have the trainer starting the gym challenge with a Rhyhorn, and ending it with a Rhydon... Amazing symbolism before heading to face the Elite 4.
I didn’t even realize that, but yes it is haha
Giving Misty's Gyarados moves that are all special in gen 3 (water, dark, and dragon) is a smart way to let her use it without its power being super overbearing at that point of the game.
Finally someone gets it (most people are saying Gyarados is too good for this stage of the game). Gyarados doesn’t learn any good physical moves for so long so I thought it was fair. Thanks so much for the comment! 😁
But it still has 100 Sp. Atk to be fair
Has to be FRLG. Look at the moves (Hidden Power is used a lot) and Kogas Crobat
@@DHW3008 yes, but I still wanted to give some credit to the person I replied to, for being half right! ✨
Unfortunately Sandstorm didn't increase Special Defense of Rock types until Gen 4. :/
Yes I realized that once the comments told me😂. Sorry about that, but the team wouldn’t change either way since I wanted the chip damage as well!
Good overall, but I can’t get over replacing Koga’s iconic Weezing with a Gengar, given that we will already have to deal with Gengar when facing Agatha.
Also, if we’re using Jolteon for Lt. Surge and Flareon for Blane, I think we should also use a Vaporeon for Misty
Other than that, I agree with the choices
Yes , giving Koga Gengar is questionable since she’s the only specialist that technically shares the same typing as Koga (except for the gen 3 and 7 rematches ) since there’s one fully evolved ghost type
Vaporeon is a bit too strong for Gym 2, I think.
(Good luck trying to do a hardcore nuzlocke versus this team haha)
Giovanni is definitely a step up from his original team, not going to lie, I was expecting him to have his signature Persian maybe with the moves: Slash, Fake Out, Psyche Up, Return.
Huge shoutout for making it so Surge cannot be swept with a freshly caught Dugtrio just outside Vermillion City.
subbed! incredible production quality for the size of your channel.
Thank you so much! It means a lot that you’ve joined the community 😁
You definitely need to make this a series, different regions, elite four and champions. This was amazing 👏
I’m so glad you enjoyed this, thank you for the comment! The elite 4 video is currently in production, so I hope you look forward to that😁
@@VeyloYT Definitely pal, notifications are set and ready to go 🤣
This is really well put together.
Thank you so so much for the comment, I’m glad you enjoyed this one! I may have to jump straight to Kalos after this 🤔
@@VeyloYTplease do, Kalos was very lacking in challenges. I wouldn't mind seeing what could have been.
I'd have Mega horn on Nidoking instead of brick break or Blizzard because Psychic types are a bigger threat to Poison typesv
(Also if you really wanted to be mean you could put Dragonbreath on Onix for the paralysis chance, but that seems like a bit much)
Last thing - I think it's important to have gym trainers represent the type while leaders show how to abuse it. So the scrawny kid in Brock's gym should have, for example, Geodude and Kabuto. Actual rock types, but without Rock Tomb the player probably outspeeds them so they can only use straightforward attacks. And will probably lose due to the level gap.
Amazing Video! Great editing, I though you had millions of subs for sure! 😂
Thanks bro!
There are Pokemon that can learn Thunder Punch.
Congreats on the growth man.
I really appreciate the support! I hope we can keep going 💪
I agree with most of this
For brock Rock slide might be a bit too strong for the firsts gym
And misty & Surge having 4 Pokémon might be a bit much
I’d say remove the Psyduck & Magnemite
I’m their teams
Sort from that this is almost perfect
That’s a great opinion, and i agree with you for most casual players going through the game! I really appreciate the comment, thank you for coming to the channel 😁
I love most of these ideas! Though Brock would be such a challenge with the small pool of mons that the early game has, maybe add more diverse mons early. I always thought exeggcute or oddish/bellsprout in Viridian Forest and Shellder or Poliwag available by old rod in Viridian would be cool.
I also think Electabuzz would be a solid addition to Surge's team possibly replacing voltorb!
Good ideas! Thanks for the comment, I’m glad you enjoyed the video 😁
I don't think Erika should use Sunny Day since a Fire-type can easily exploit that. Also, Giovanni's last Pokémon was a Rhydon in the original Gen 1 games; no idea why the remakes unevolved it.
All of Erika's Pokemon have Chlorophyll for their Ability, so their Speed is doubled. They can at least get one hit in before going down.
The video is just lit🔥like you the quality the editing everything is perfect i was not able to see the video when it was uploaded because i am from India and when you uploaded the video it was around 1 or 2 am and i was sleeping so sorry 🎉❤ full support from me

@@VeyloYT you give your best and that is what we want but also upload some different games video because I is not important that everyone like the same game I hope you get it bro ❤️🔥
Yes that makes sense, and I will be in the future once I can upload more frequently! Thanks you for the suggestions.
-HP electric/ice: a nice reference to Starmie getting thunderbolt/ice beam, while not being too busted for the level
-Water Pulse: it’s Misty’s TM; it can confuse, which is thematically accurate to Starmie’s psychic type
-Recover: Thematically accurate to starmie, and gives it longevity (similar to minimize, but feels more fair)
-Swift: Better than tackle, and the star shaped projectiles are too good to pass up on for the starfish.
My hope with this is that Starmie gets the coverage it’s known for, but tuned down to a challenging fight that punishes unbalanced teams or ones that only leveled their starters.
Loved your idea with giving Brock sandstorm btw :)
Thank you so much for the comment! It’s too bad that apparently sandstorm doesn’t raise special defence in gen 3 but oh well I tried haha
This video took too long to edit… but it was so fun to make so it all evened out! Thank you so much for your support it means a lot to me😁
Woh ! Tough fight now ! 😅
It must be challenging !!! 💯❤️🔥🔥🔥
Please do More videos like this about fixing Pokémon gym leaders/elite four members teams. I love it!

Thanks for watching more of my videos, it means a lot. I’m glad you enjoyed 😁
Seriously, you managed to fix his team, thanks for include Golem, Rhyhorn and Marowak 👍🏻✨
I would have left Geodude on Brock's team, but I like that you included Omanyte on his team. In the video games it is said that his hobby is searching for fossils in Mt. Moon, it is great that he has Fossils in his team. It's a shame that Brock didn't have more Rock Pokémon in the anime ⛰️

@@VeyloYT you're welcome man, can't wait to watch them
Yes, keeping the pokemon to the original 151 is nice, I feel like evolutions presented in later games is a fine compromise.
Awesome video! 🙌 Just a few things I would change. (I'm sure you addressed a lot of these so apologies if I'm repeating what you wrote/responded already)
TMs won from the Gym should be used by at least the ace Pokémon of that Gym. TMs from other Gyms should not be used by prior Gyms like Starmie having Toxic, but if Giovanni uses a Nido, it could use Toxic.
Brock: I like the squad you made a lot, but Geodude is iconic, have him start with it and make it a 4 Pokemon team, maybe nerf it a little down to level 11 to give some free Exp just to help out against Rhyhorn
Misty: She looks like the true dragon master with Horsea and Gyarados both knowing dragon moves.
Also, Raichu should have Quick
Attack or Slam instead of HP.
I love all these teams so actually good fair and more challenging battles.
Thank you so much! 😁
I watched this video and bursted out crying. It was magical and I want more
lol
Congrats on hitting 1k subs!

(HP Ice, Ground) Sure Exeggutor had Ancient Power...bit the other 3 need coverage too
Giovannis ace needed to be persian, I was waiting for that haha
Wow, how did I not think of that?? I wish I did because that’s an amazing idea and Persian gets no love in this game. Great idea, and thanks for coming to the channel! 😁
Instead of fixing the gym leaders, kanto's elite 4 needs a fixation.
Yeah, there are some huge changes needed for them. Stay tuned, it’s in production now! Thanks so much for the suggestion 😁
If you wanted weather teams, permanent weather in the Gym would be the way to go, like in Renegade Platinum
Fun fact: Giovanni used to have a Rhydon on his team in the original Gen.1 games. No idea why Game Freak swapped it for a much weaker Rhyhorn
Wow I didn’t know that! Crazy the they took it out for a Rhyhorn when it’s the 8th gym 😩
Brock - Zubat, Rhyhorn and Onix
Misty - Psyduck, Seadra and Starmie
Surge - Pidgeyotto, Electabuzz and Raichu
Erika - weepinbell, vileplume and Nidoqueen
Would be a nice start.
Amazing video!!
Thanks man!
"The Sunny Day has most likely worn out-" That Parasect has 2 x4 weaknesses and no speed, there was no sunny day.
Let me fix erikas weakness against fire and flying by adding a parasect 😂
Voltorb using hidden power: water means Screech is just wasting a turn
That hidden power type would utilize its special attack stat in gen 3
Really liked the Koga change!
I’m so glad you liked it, it means a lot!
Bro this was an awesome video
Thank you so much!
if you happen to do this for gen 2. I hope you replace a good chunk of the gym leaders aces with actual johto pokemon. its really weird the first two gym leaders you fight only used Kanto pokemon.
hey veylo im your #1 fan keep up the good work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you so so much, I will keep it up! 😁
Geodude Lv 12
Tackle
Defense Curl
Rock Tomb
Vulpix Lv 14
Ember
Tail Whip
Roar
Quick Attack
Onix Lv 16
Bind
Screech
Rock Tomb
Sand Tomb
Misty - I don’t feel the need to give her a non water type, they do so well in countering their weaknesses as it is.
Psyduck Lv 17
Water Pulse
Confusion
Disable
Aerial Ace
Poliwhirl Lv 19 (yes I know this is an illegal evolution…but I think this would be better than Vaporean or Gyarados)
Water Pulse
Hypnosis
Dig
Ice Punch
Starmie Lv 21
Water Pulse
Psybeam
Thunderbolt
Swift
Surge - give him a water type to counter Rock/Ground types. Also a small level boost.
Voltorb Lv 22
Shock Wave
Screech
Rollout
Light Screen
Gyarados Lv 24 (this seems better for Surge than Misty tbh…but an argument could be had that this is still too tough for gym 3. I thought it’d be ironic to give Surge a Pokemon double weak to Electric attacks though.)
Thrash
Bite
Water Pulse
Thunderbolt
Raichu Lv 26
Thunderbolt
Body Slam
Double Team
Brick Break
I would give each leader's boss their TM move (example: give onyx rock tomb)
That’s a good point which I didn’t look at. Maybe for the next video I’ll even change the Tms they give as well!
Its interesting how much potential in gameplay they lost with just the data they had available.
Staryu (21)- Recover, Water Pulse, Swift, Rain Dance
Starmie (23) - Confusion, Recover, Water Pulse, Swift
Maybe this is too strong, maybe Staryu / Starmie is enough.
Also I would suggest higher levels for Erika, around 34~37
Koga could start 37-43 and Sabrina 41-45 Blaine 43-48 Geovanni 46-50
Koga's Ace - Weezing (43) - Flamethrower, Sludge Bomb, Thunderbolt, Shadow Ball
Koffing (37) - Shadow Ball, Flamethrower, Sludge Bomb, Explosion
Muk (40) - Flamethrower, Dig, Giga Drain, Explosion
Arbok (42) - Sludge Bomb, Earthquake, Slam, Bite
4 Pokemon should be enough for Sabrina & Blaine, their strength should not be in number but having good, strong pokemon.
Kantos elite 4 and gym leaders from the rest of the series would be great
They’re in the works! Thanks for the suggestion 😁
@@VeyloYT understandable.
No love for a Hypnosis Crobat? Feel like that egg move fits the Koga theme so well too
These teams are too tryhard with no sense of the game
Thanks for coming to the channel 😁
leer on misty's gyarados doesn't serve a purpose, since neither gyarados or starmie would have a physical move to hit you with
Great video but I am a bit confused. Is this video about fixing the gym leaders team or is this your idea for a challenge mode?
It’s kind of a mix between the two I guess, but my intention was to fix them for any player. I realize now that these gym leaders are a bit too hard haha
Love the vid bro
Thank you!
I think giving Misty, Erika, and Blaine the starter trio would actually round out their teams a bit better. There's already trainers in Kanto with some of the starter pokemon so I don't have any qualms about more starters being in the game. They could also be worked into the Elite Four to round out Lance and Agatha.
giving their pokemon coverage hidden power types feels like a copout. that voltorb should be able to explode.
Just give them all lvl 100 Pokémon…you’ll never win. Boom fixed.
(He doesn’t know how study works in gen 3)
Do you mean sturdy? Yes I realized that after making the video haha but hey it doesn’t change the teams at all to be honest even since I got that wrong 😁
This was fun, thanks
I, so glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for coming to the channel 😁
Really strong gym leaders
I wanted these to feel like a true boss fight, like you needed to learn their movesets and prepare a little bit for the leaders while still being in an achievable standard for people who are familiar to Pokémon. What was too strong about these? Thanks so much for the feedback and welcome to the channel! 😁
Would make more sense if Koga had Nidoqueen and Giovanni had Nidoking, since Nidoking is way more brutal, otherwhile Nidoqueen is more caring
That’s a good point
Why would you take Extreme speed away from Blaine's Arcanine in favor of Aerial Ace?
I’m Fire Red/Leaf Green Blaine’s Arcanine didn’t have extreme speed in the first place, and I thought aerial ace would provide more coverage against fighting types. Thanks for commenting though, I think extreme speed could have worked too! 😁
Charmander does know Metal Claw and shame you can’t rematch the Gym Leaders
That’s a good point!
That’s true, I didn’t even consider that as a way to design the game
