I am Brazilian and live in São Paulo. Love watching both of you. Voting in Brazil is a right but it is also mandatory. Elections are always on Sundays and public transportation runs for free. Over 150 million Brazilians voted this last time. We have an amazing digital voting machine. It’s a computer, it’s not connected to the internet and is safe. Once the ballot rooms are closed, you have the results of each room right away. I follow American elections and can not believe your system lol. Bolsonaro is out!!!! For now, at least.

Most of the congressional races in the Eastern Time Zone in the US were known by midnight.
I'm writing this around 24 hours after the first polls closed in the US, and for the Senate, 2 or 3 out of 35 races are uncalled (I'm not counting the georgia Senate race, cause we offically will be having a runoff election next month). 390 of the 435 House races have been called by the Assiciated Press.
So it's not a big deal, and it doesn't warrant a general response of "I dont know what's going on in that country!"

If people go to the polling places to place their vote in person, sometimes lines are hours and hours long. I’ve never experienced that in my area, but I’ve seen video and heard that it can be an all-day process in more populated area. How do employers expect their employees to work a full 8-hour shift AND cast their vote during the hours that polling places are open. I do a paper ballot, but I know there are a lot of people who have been indoctrinated from right-wing radicals and Fox News-type media to believe that mail in ballots aren’t reliable. I trust the process, but others have given in to the conspiracy.

Republicans: get an ID to Vote.
      Democrats: That's Voter SUPPRESSSSSIIIOOONNNN!
Best actual response: get a fuckin' ID and BEAT them at their own game.
Don't come back with gerrymandering - both sides do it to ridiculous lengths.
Don't come back with; you can't give water on voting line. That is pure bullshit; you CAN until about 150 feet from polling entrance.
THEN; motivate the Voters with good clear messaging that drives them to Vote; win various elections and CHANGE the rules...

Why we don't get election results same day: R legislatures in certain states passed laws saying mail in votes can't even be OPENED, let alone counted, before election day.
Here in Colorado, where we are almost entirely vote by mail, votes get counted as soon as your returned ballot is received so that results can be released on election day.
    All states COULD do this.

I mean, we have a lot of problems. The Electoral College is an abomination reminiscent of slaveowner days (it just is, it gives white voters in Wyoming infinitely more power than voters in states like California, for instance), the fact that we don't make election days federal holidays shows that our country is deeply subservient to the minoritarian conservatives, and the fact that redneck sheriff militias are able to patrol our polling sites show that we've sunk pretty far into fascism already. Calling that out definitely doesn't make you a bad American.
