I didn't know Liberty Prime was originally supposed to be much bigger. That probably explains why there's concepts in the Fallout 4 art book for the player standing on a platform on his back; Bethesda still had hopes of implementing a rideable Prime even at his reduced size. I'm willing to bet the devs just couldn't get the feature stable enough, or otherwise decided that they liked the player walking along with Prime at ground level more.

The only vertis that where delivered for field testing were to anchorage apparently. and in very very small numbers like 5.
The verties we see there are actually Phase 2 verties. the VB02, the attack variant. That wasnt made till AFTER the nukes fell. it was being worked on at the same time as the Enclave worked on making the APA from the X-01.
The Phase 1 version, we see in Fallout 4 (as bethesda is too fuckin lazy to make more assets) uses a much larger, bulkier design, with 3 propellers on each tiltrotor. This designe was actually for the BoS to use as a mountable aircraft for the Pridwyn.
Frankly, i dislike Bethesda's 'Steam punk' version of trains, oversized aircraft, and contraptions.
This makes sense kinda. As the BoS on the West coast couldnt make their own Phase 2 vertis in time for the NCR to stab them in the back and push them into full hiding. The NCR aquired the Vertibirds at Navarro.

The Liberators take design inspiration from the Automaton units used in the second season of the anime _Mobile Suit Gundam 00_ with their same cylindrical shape and mobility utilized by four legs that emerge from lower portions of the machine, only difference is that the Liberators use claw-like legs similar to the Guardian Stalkers from the _Breath of The Wild_ videogame to achieve locomotion, while the Automatons from Gundam use magnetic wheels to propel themselves in both mountainous terrain and in Zero-G environments. The only other distinction between the two is that the Automatons have dual machine gun turrets located on the underside and are the size of a full-grown human, while the Liberators are much smaller and have a weak laser.

Say what you will about the story-line for Atamatron (I still like it but wouldn't argue for it to anyone who doesn't) the ability to mix and match robots and adding crazy weapons to them is amazingly fun and creative. probably some of the most fun I had in fallout 4 testing out my new mecanations

it wouldve been nice if it was a scavenger group(s) vs rust devils vs mechanist kind of thing with proper factions and not like bunch of random hostile bots and a new raider variant
they couldve really added a rust devil base and a scavenger base, do something better with the mechanist's lair
instead we get Ada and like do these 6 quests where you go to a location and just kill bots bc evil rogue bots.

I think the actual way it could rotae is the one big wheel is actually two wheels that can rotate independently. I dont know my engineering terms so excuse any misuse of terminology. I think the big wheel is two wheels with something like a washer or disc between them. This means when it needs to turn, it could rotate only one of the wheels, or if it needed to turn quickly it would turn the wheels in opposite directions.

I honestly don't get why people argue about synths being sapient. We see from the gen one model that even they had human brains. Meaning the entire "synth" line is an evolution of robo-brains. Thus they have an actual human brain controlling them. They have the one part of the human body that most people would agree makes them "human." Remember, that was in a gen 1 synth. The fact that gen 3 are smarter suggests they keep the human brain in better shape so it can process better.
So it seems odd to question if the thing made from actual human DNA and with a human brain controlling it can feel human emotions. In fact, the gen 3 synths seem to only have one non-organic component, a control unit in their brain that looks a lot like they gave Kellogg.

Sorry my bad, though they do seem to be made from biological parts and they needed human DNA to make them, so I do think they got the idea to use human neurons as the main processor from the robo-brain.
Though at this point they don't need criminals and can make a brain on the spot.

The securitrons from new Vegas, always kind of reminded me of Kain from robocop 2. He had his digital face that was meant to represent himself as he had been as well as illustrating his mood and personality. The securitrons generally kept the same face but would change under certain circumstances.
Liberty Prime like optimus prime ^_^
Skynet from fallout 2, I believe it was. Machine that could be given a monkey body as well as being a terminator reference. Considering that Bethesda made a number of terminator games on pc back in the day, it was almost fitting that they would get their hands on fallout as well.
You should have also mentioned the walking eyes from New Vegas's Big Mountain. They didn't work, but they were there in that flooding section. They were a Venture Brothers reference which was pretty cool. Could have been an amusing counterpoint to the floating eye bots.
There was also the miniature securitron from Big Mountain that craved Coffee cups.
F.I.S.T.O also deserved an honourable mention. Of all the violent things protectrons were capable of doing to hurt a guy or gal, breaking their hearts stands out.

Lore or just for gameplay there are more robots and everytime they forget to mention Operation Anchorage's Spidermines and Chimera Tank. The Think Tank special robots where covered but no mention of the Zax computer AIs from fallout 1, 2 and 3 with it's most well known member being John Henry Eden and to a certain extent the AI of Broken Steel's M.A.R.G.o.T. Would also been a nice touch to cover for at least 30 seconds that in addition to ED-E being a unique armored eyebot and companion in FNV, that a special Mr.Gutsy is an obtainable companion in FO3 in Sergeant RL-3 as well a Synth type is a potential companion in FO4 in the form of Nick Valentine. It was also skipped mentioning Point Lookouts's unique Non moving Robobrain; Professor Calvert. And while aliens are a well known lore in the FO universe it would have been nice to talk about the Attack Drones and Maintenance Drones from Mothership Zeta. I may be missing more as i dont have all dlcs and games but just letting these notes. I hope its a nice read.
