@@kingofhearts3185 My thinking tends to be that cannibalism isn't really a an act defined by biology, it's mainly about how you treat categories of beings that have or are associated with personhood, differently from you treat things we don't consider people. A ghoul is at the end of the day just a very changed human, and there's not that much fundamental biological distinction between a sapient ghoul with a clear humanity, and a non-sentient ghoul.
For the record, I also think the idea of eating sapient beings even of completely unrelated species to us, to be almost morally the same as human cannibalism. I honesty get grossed out by the thought of people eating whales or apes in a way that is at least comparable to the thought of eating people.
I mean, it's a cruel world, so it's not like I think you have to be crazy to do anything like that, if there's a need for it, but to the extent that we really wanna create some sort of really noble society, I do think we should create a norm of not instrumentalizing the bodies of sapient beings, and probably eventually moving away from eating sentient being as well.

For people wandering why there aren't any wendigos on any other places other than Appalachia, i might have found a quick theory.
So wendigos are only in west virginia because they're basically humans who resorted to extreme cannibalism AND ghoulification, it's noticed on how they're immune to rads, able have a glowing version and are usually found with hordes of feral ghouls, also there are wendigo colossus who were doing extreme amounts of cannibalism like Earl and got irridiated by the mining equipment, so I think wendigos are born out of a severe length of cannibalism and the ghoulification mutating with each other, turning them into these. Now that I’ve actually given Fallout 76 a chance (really good. Now, not even a year ago, but right now it’s finally in a playable state), and learned more about Wendigoes, it gives me more evidence to my speculation about what’s really going on with ‘Ghoulification’
What do Wendigoes have in common with Ghouls? Pretty much everything (perhaps Wendigoes don’t live as long, it remains to be seen until we get another Fallout game that features them), EXCEPT, ghouls are caused by Radiation, and Wendigoes by Cannabilism.
And yet... it doesn’t really answer anything. Why do they transform so completely, and seemingly so common, as opposed to both circumstances just killing them like any human?
The answer might not be based in logic and science, but something more... cosmic... darker... supernatural.
If you’re familiar with Dark Souls lore, perhaps these aren’t transformations at all, maybe Ghouls and Wendigoes are *reversions* . A return to what all humans harbor deep within, our true origins, and maybe even... creators.
