You get all the bells and whistles in this special Fourth of July 2016 steam-up at the Nevada State Railroad Museum in Carson City: Virginia and Truckee 4-4-0 Inyo; V&T 4-6-0 No. 25; narrow gauge 2-6-0 Glenbrook; and the knife-nosed McKeen car. While enjoying the vintage trains at the museum on the Fourth, I noticed a much younger videographer -- I would guess between 13-15 years old -- walking the grounds with an adult as the youth set up a tripod and carefully shot video of the passing trains. I tried to stay out of his framed shots, and it was encouraging to see him in action -- someone so young who was simultaneously looking back into the 19th Century with the steam locomotives while peering ahead in his modern video camera. That's where videographers and historians come from, and I hope folks like him get encouragement and continue to grow their skills and knowledge.
