This is it. You get it. You know how much potential the first game laid out for the depth of its story and characters, that could result in an entire prelude, in-between and aftermath of events, presented with the game's engine, just like these videos: * Ryo defending Nozomi at school when she moved in from Canada; * How the Mad Angels established themselves on the Harbor and messed around with the people working there (including the implicit murder of Tomi Maruyama's son); * Terry aiding Lan-Di in his escape; * Mai joining the Sukeban; * Finishing constructions at Sakuragaoka and New Yokosuka Movie Theatre; And then in II: * All the businesses that were forced to shutdown 'cause of the Landsharks; * The formation of The Heavens; * Wong's life on the streets before having met Ren... There's just so much lore that could be expanded upon - - it's ridiculous! And all of that AFTER several chapters getting scrapped-off...
Watching this really put me in a zen like state. The music and atmosphere is so chill. There's so many countless stories that can be told with the NPCS of Shenmue and seeing them after so many years, it's like greeting old friends and family. It really does give that vibe.
@@josephkitchenfriednoodles Honestly I've been using this video for asmr for about a month now. As soon as it gets to the 6 minute mark I always drift off. You're really good at this.
can't believe these videos don't have more views and i'm just now finding them. you truly capture so many elements of Shenmue in such an artistic form.
Man this makes me wish that Shenmue 3 could be rendered with these visuals. You did such an amazing job with the music. I too am looking for the equipment used to create the music to play around with in my studio. Great job!
Thanks sir. The sounds of Shenmue are a little scattered but I collected the synth modules in about a year of searching. Roland JV-2080 with JV80-02, JV80-14 expansions. Also, Roland Sound Canvas, Korg TR Rack, Ensoniq MR Rack, and a few others. Do you own a sampler? I could bundle a few sounds.
@@josephkitchenfriednoodles I normally do software synths but this year specifically I got interested in finding and purchasing the equipment used to make Shenmue's music. I'd like to get that in my recording studio and have some fun recreating some sounds of the 90s.
@@josephkitchenfriednoodles I would DEFINITELY be interested in those samples! I have been obsessed with those sounds recently! And great job with this project btw!
@@Bosh_Jallen Are you on Twitter? Can you message me at JosephKitchen20? If there's a song that you want instruments from for SH1 or 2, I can organize samples by music track.

Wow, fantastic work on these tracks! You really managed to capture that Shenmue atmosphere :)
Thanks! The effects are a little rough but the emphasize was on the music. This video was made right after we acquired the JV-2080 which has a lot of the old Shenmue sounds.
I spent a good year tracking down the original sources for instruments. I found about 90% but missing a few still. The equipment that I collected includes the Roland JV2080 (with JV80-02/ JV80-14 exp board), Roland SoundCanvas, Korg TR Rack, Ensoniq MR Rack, and more.

@@josephkitchenfriednoodles That is interesting. That information is usually very difficult to find. Music is the part of videogames that is less talked about.

Amazing as always. Great work guys ☺️👏
Thanks for the video! That's the kind of people the team for the development of Shenmue remaster should have consisted of.
This is simply incredible. Thank you so much for this!
Thank you! Always feels good to get appreciation on my very first video.
So clever and I cant wait to watch the other episodes, I'm really glad that I found your channel :) .
Thanks and I appreciate you shouting out my original video. It hasn't aged well but the music is good!
Really, really great work! I love how you nailed the sound of the music from the games :D
Really amazing work. You deserve more views for this!!
Thanks! That's the first video so the quality is pretty bad but we made the video to showcase some of our music.
