  • We’ve all heard the saying, “between a rock and a hard place.” More than just hearing it, we’ve all been there! Jacob was also there, big time. In fact, his situation was so dark and difficult that he had to use a rock for a pillow! Here’s another well-known saying that applies well to this part of Jacob’s story, “it’s always darkest before the dawn.” In the darkest part of Jacob’s story, Yahweh shows up in a profoundly revelatory way. The story of “Jacob’s ladder” is actually the story of “Jesus’ ladder,” as we will see in this presentation.

    I seek your sermons regularly when I am in my own dark places. Thank you for pointing me to God's true character and love for me. Your humanity makes you a credible light for me to let down my walls to accept Jesus' promises at face value. Your faith is infectious. Thank you pastor Asscherick. Please never stop.

    Thank you for this series on Jacob. His circumstances resonate with all humanity. The pillar of who Chris is for us, individually, reminds us that we (I) are (am) not left in solitary hopelessness. Praise the Lord 🙌🏽

    The explanation on what occurs in our minds while processing guilt is the best I have heard. So simple and comforting. Praise God! And blessings to pastor and his family

    This is powerfully good! Thank you! I will say though, there is an ad in here that if you don't click it away in time, it switches you to another RUclips channel and away from the message. I've played this more than once and it's happened each time. Satan don't want people to hear this!!!

    Psalm 51:3 “For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.”
    For reaping the consequences of what we sow could last an entire life time. As reality happens on a daily basis, from past happenings, rather by our own fault or not, there’s no need to beat ourselves up: because what we are reaping is suffice, or full condemnation, on its own.
    Added edit: Jeremiah 31:2-4
    King James Version
    “Thus saith the Lord, The people which were left of the sword found grace in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest.
    3 The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.
    4 Again I will build thee, and thou shalt be built, O virgin of Israel: thou shalt again be adorned with thy tabrets, and shalt go forth in the dances of them that make merry.”
    Isaiah 41:10-
    Fear not, for I am with you;
    Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
    I will strengthen you,
    Yes, I will help you,
    I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
    "I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU NOR FORSAKE YOU" (Hebrews 13:5).

    This is not China, where archeologists identify a stone being used as a pillow. I'm so glad you addressed the pillow, I've often been puzzled by this being mentioned in the bible.
