---- About the Pattern ----
Pocket Kitty Cat is a no-sew pattern that is quick and easy to work up. A full video tutorial is included, making this a beginner-friendly project. Make it with super bulky chenille velvet or blanket yarn to create a squishy plush for little hands to play with. Crocheting with thinner yarns (like DK or worsted weight) makes this amigurumi the perfect size for a keychain or Christmas tree ornament.
These miniature dolls are great for craft fairs, markets, or kids party favors. It’s a unisex and gender neutral stuffed animal toy that will appeal to boys, girls, children, adults, and everyone in between! It’s a great last-minute birthday and holiday gift. This mini kitten can also be used for therapy as a sensory fidget or stress relief object. It makes a portable friend, especially for people with anxiety, ADHD, or autism.
The PDF pattern includes full written instructions and 30+ photos as a step-by-step photo tutorial to guide you through the doll making process.

I took a basic crochet class yesterday, learned to chain, single stitch, and stitch on the round. With those three skills, I was able to follow along to your tutorial and make myself a lumpy little kitty! It's nowhere near as good as yours, but I'm so excited. Love the kawaii kitty! Can I use normal yarn since I don't have bulky weight yarn?
Yes you can! Just use a suitable size hook (smaller one than what I'm using) to keep yoru stitches tight and without gaps. You'll end up with a smaller kitty!

I keep trying to make this, but I can never get past round 4-ish. It just stays flat no matter what I do. I'm using a 8 mm size yarn ( I hope I'm describing that right ), but normally that doesn't affect that. Any tips? I really want to make this adorable kitty!!
I'm not sure what's going on with your yarn but have you tried going past R4? If you keep going, it should start rounding out especially when you do the "sc around" rounds without any inc/dec.
